There should be a status effect to show aura reading.
To bring swf slightly more in line with solo survivor, and to slightly buff solo survivor (and also buff killer slightly) a status effect or indicator should show when your aura is being read, or your being seen.
- this would be in-discriminant of what player is actually viewing the other (ie two survivors viewing each other via aura will have it, along with a survivor viewing a killer, and the killer viewing a survivor)
- if all players are running aura perks this becomes less valuable as the status effect will likely always be on, meaning the perks themselves will be less valuable.
- allows survivors to know/learn when to run, expecially when playing solo, even if they don't know if the killer or another survivor is viewing them.
- allows killers to know when they have eyes on them, in order to combat it, even if they don't know who or where.
- would allow for more predictablity of perks. (Ie someone's seeing me post hook? Likely BBQ or kindred just activated.) (Someone's seeing me everytime I kick a pallet? Someone must be using alert.)
Outright, this would buff solo survivors, and killers the most. Giving them information that swf might be able to pass on (oh I figured out the killer has ex aura reading perk, now all my friends know) whilst also allowing killers the ability to know when their aura is being read, in order to predict, and circumvent the value of it and be sneakier. It wouldn't tell you who is doing so, meaning a survivor would have a killers "sight" masked, by another survivors aura reading perks, and a killer wouldn't know exactly what or whose perks are in play at what time, just that they exist.
Edit : on top of this, for killer, the killer instinct effect already exists, and can be used to replace auras when It comes to "stealthy visual perks" as the killer instinct effect would be more useful as a result of this change

It’s a horror game. There’s supposed to be LESS predictability.

Horror-themed game, not a horror game. The horror feeling of this game is already gone.

Whilst I agree somewhat, the game isn't exactly played as a horror game.
On top of this, if a survivor knows their auras being read, that's all they know. They simply know there being revealed via aura Los. Like a sneak indicator almost.
Yeah it makes stealthing up on a aura read survivor less powerful, as they could potentially move due to an early warning and that's honestly the only part I'm finnicky about/want to make sure remains in the game.
What I'm trying to thought experiment is a way for survivor/killer aura reading to be communicated to the player that it's simply in play. Expecially since solo survivors can't communicate perks between the team, and aura reading perks are some of the most powerful

Honestly, beside negative effect like Expose, Mangled... should be shown. The rest like Cursed, Thana, Unnerving presence...should not show.
