Need tips for playing survivor

I think I know the basics of survivor pretty well. I have got one big problem though. I can never seem to know when I can be hit and when I can´t be hit. How do good survivors do this without throwing down every pallet immediately? Any tips would be welcome since the animations in this game are clearly just for show.

Since the devs aren't doing anything to fix this, I would love to know how you deal with this.

You just have to get a feel for it. When you see that red light (killer’s headlights) touching your survivor’s feet or higher, he’s in hitting distance.

That is the most useless hint I have ever seen

Also remember it's p2p so even when  you stun the killer might still down you due to there screen hitting you oh and run iron will teir3 for counters to damage and calm spirit so birds don't give you away when sprinting past them (unless killer runs spies from the shadows) and it helps I  case there's a doctor and selfcare is needed for solo playing so you can be safe alone and not depend on strangers 4th perk up to you but hope is helpful for a endgame speed boost to juke a killer about while gates get opend

Sorry, maybe that’s the problem. You aren’t seeing it. In that case, suck it up, buttercup.

if there ain’t a wall, pallet, or window between you and the killer, he’s gunna smack ya. Are you seriously asking for a “fix” for something common perception can predict in less than a second?

Also a attitude to people trying to help you does not help you as people won't comment to people that act hostile to a bit of advice from experiences players I have a lot of time in game and I'm still making the mistake like that at times

If you're the kind of person that responds to hints like that, then there's not much chance you're going to improve.

Keep playing, you'll have to figure it out this one on your own, bloodlust, noed, pallet locations, windows etc. Survivors have smaller capsules then killers, so they can run tighter circles. Look behind you, just make sure to not get stuck on objects in front of you. If you can't judge the distance that well use dead hard as insurance. Learn the distance required to perform a fast vault.

You gave me an attitude, I don’t take kindly to people that are ungrateful when others try to help. I didn’t think you’d be asking something as simple as “how do you know when you’re safe from getting hit?”  Which is a pretty easy to answer question, if there’s nothing in bwtween you and the killer, you need to change that pronto.

it's like you 're asking for food and someone gives you an empty plate. It's not helpful to say "get better".

It is. And it’s not what I told you. I said to get a feel, that means pay attention, not necessarily sweat. And by the way, if you’re asking for food, a plate would be helpful because then you would have something to put the food on. It’s progress. Nothing is instant. Time to learn.

EDIT: Once again you are only grateful for instant benefits.

Tbh I have to drop the pallet early. (Usually around the second time you loop it, 3rd time max if you have Dead Hard or Lithe)
It saves me from getting hit and gives me enough time to move onto the next obstacle. If you can’t make a vault, you’ll have to get close enough to trick the killer that you’ll vault but that’s when you actually 180 and vault the other window. Just hope the killer isn’t smart enough to see it coming.
