Will Distortion be tweaked for Lethal Pursuer?

I think it's safe to say this perk has a chance to potentially become meta, especially on chaser or lower tier killers that have to focus on optimising their time to win against good players. One of the most important things you can do on any non-setup killer is get into a chase as soon as possible.

But I'm concerned about Distortion and how it will affect this perk.

Currently you get 7 seconds of auras at map start and then that perk is deactivated for the rest of the game. This means that not only will Distortion block its use entirely but it will still have 2 tokens left.

I'm not of the opinion that Distortion is a particularly good perk, mainly because I think there should be a way to regain tokens through gen completions or something. But I think the idea that a survivor perk can outright invalidate a killer perk instantly at match start to be absurd.

I'm all for new metas on both sides, but any situation where a single survivor perk can invalidate a killer perk in its entirety without any input from the actual survivor player is pretty absurd.

Thoughts?

7 seconds of use is not worth of a perk slot, doesn't matter if it helps you get into chase sooner. Any slowdown perk is stronger

I've never seen anyone run Distortion in all my time I've played DBD. I don't see Lethal Pursuer being meta unless they give it an additional effect.

I got a decent level of use out of it as Nemesis in the PTB and can see it being extremely good on killers that need to gain power early like Oni and Shape. I get the feeling that it will probably become pretty common on kiilers like Nurse and Spirit that don't even really need slowdown.

Distortion in such an awful perk that I doubt it'll be run with the sole purpose of ruining lethal pursuer, unless lethal pursuer ends up being super OP (which I doubt it will). Not only are 2 tokens of distortion pretty awful, but survivors tend to spawn together, so if not everybody is running distortion, then the killer is gonna know where the survivors are anyhow.

True, I think the reason you don't see it now is that most killers only use BBQ as an aura perk which means you'll lose all your tokens relatively early.

But if you had the chance to potentially waste a killers entire perk slot 5 seconds in, I can see it being pretty unfair. Granted, that can also happen with Hex perks right now thanks to finicky spawns, but that risk is part of their design. If picking a perk with such a limited use like Pursuer, you should get its value regardless imo.

Distortion can become such a good perk and it only needs simple buffs.

If anything, Distortion needs a hearty buff imo. 3 tokens is pretty abysmal in some situations. You could either lose them all quickly, or get no use of it the entire match. Some way to gain them back would be nice. (safe unhooks or repairing generators maybe)

The benefit to it nulifying Lethal Pursuer is that they're using Distortion and so not DS/UB/DH/BT

The difference there is that a killer perk should have the power be able to invalidate a survivor perk imo. It's 4 versus 16.

That just sounds like entitlement to me you think that because the way the game is designed you should be able to invalidate my perk but as soon as I can invalidate one of yours it's wrong.

There is nothing wrong with distortion blocking a perk that gives off info for nothing.

Even if 1 or 2 people happen to have Distortion, Lethal Pursuer still does its job. You can only chase 1 person at a time anyway. Knowing where all 4 Survivors start isn't really necessary. And like others said, I doubt either of these perks will be very popular.

I've personally seen a sharp rise in the use of distortion myself. The only reason I'm able to notice is because my huntress build is full aura reading perks. (Deerstalker, Nurse's Calling, BBQ, and I'm All Ears.)

Distortion has limited uses (3 times a match) and does nothing if the killer has no aura reading. Not to mention Lethal Pursuer shows the aura of every survivor and survivors often spawn close to each other. Meaning if 1 person is running distortion, it's not a big deal as you can see 3 other people and still might run into the distortion survivor anyways.

Now if you do somehow run into a team of 4 people running distortion, well they have only 2 uses of the perk left and now you only have to worry about 3 possible meta perks on each survivor instead of 4.
