can someone explain why survivors would get salty about bamboozle perk?
I like running bamboozle on one-shot killer like bubba and billy, and sometimes survivors get salty about it in the post game chat. The reasons why I like bamboozle on one-shot killer:
- get rid of as many pallets as possible in the map
- usually m-1 the survivor should be avoided on one-shot killer because it gives the survivor a chance to use dead hard
- if I can force survivors to drop the pallet by entity blocking the window, breaking the pallet with the chainsaw tremendously cut down the distance between you & survivor
- blocking the god window like shack or long wall jungle gym is really efficient
- vault speed
There are obviously a counter to the perk (moving to a different tile) or there are certain maps where bamboozle is completely useless (suffocation pit, haddonfield, maybe wreckers yard, etc). But why are survivors saying bamboozle is a boring and brain-dead perk while they are using dead hard for free distance, and free second chance perks like borrowed time or decisive strike?

I do not? What are you talking about lmao

I mean I could see how people would think it's boring. You're kind of taking away one of the only 2 options a survivor can use against a killer, but it's definitely not overpowered and not even that good of a perk. People should not be complaining.

people have been saying "because it's a boring perk killer shouldn't use it". That sounds pretty preposterous tbh. "taking away one of the only 2 options a survivor can use against a killer" I mean that's exactly the reason why u use bamboozle.

People complain about Bamboozle?

Well...yeah and that's the exact reason why everyone hates playing against it. Things that take away options and force a playstyle that you're not really able to demonstrate skill with is gonna be boring. Because the way you play against bamboozle is dropping a pallet when the killer hits space-bar at a window. That's not fun because it takes away the skillful part of chasing and you're both just playing like bots until the survivor eventually gets downed.
It's not an amazing perk and it doesn't need to be nerfed, but it's not a fun perk to play against and people have every right to express that opinion, just as you have the right to use the perk.

Wow a nuanced take.
You may well be right - objectively the perk isn't too strong but it as it reduces their options, survivors don't find it fun to face.

It takes away half of their options and usually forces them to predrop pallets, which on Bubba or Demogorgon means creating a map-wide deadzone in 2-3 minutes. It's especially annoying on Bubba, because it's the most skilless win that killers have, at least in my experience playing Bubba.
Basically, it punishes survivors for playing the game the fun way (actual looping), and forces them to play in the mindless, boring, soul-crushing way of predropped pallets to stand a chance, without any real effort from the killer. It's hard to find an equivalent, but the sprinting Exhaustion perks on survivors are the best I can think of. It doesn't exactly feel good to have someone Sprint Burst away and hold W across the map as an m1 killer that can't really catch them. Easy, free chase time, just like bamboozle is easy, free pallet drops.

Because it's a cheap boring way of playing that removes the actual fun part of the game: chases, reducing them to predropping pallets.
It's not op or anything, just a huge yawn

It isn’t OP, just extremely boring to go against. The most fun part of the game is the chase, and bamboozle removes any creativity on the survivor’s part. This results in holding w constantly, and it just isn’t worth the matchmaking wait for that kind of game.
It’s one of the ‘no fun’ perks, alongside Franklin’s, NOED, and Crowd Control.

I can't imagine how anyone can complain about bamboozle as I don't think it's a good perk. I can only see it being annoying maybe if you're looping killer at shack.

I think most survivor dont know how to play against bamboozle. It takes away your window vaults but you can use this knowledge to predict the killer. If you know the killer will vault you can most of the time reach another loop.

i dislike it because its a very skillless perk to run.
you vault a window and immediately eliminate that tile, its quite boring to see imo.
now to clarify: no i dont get mad at anyone for running the perk, i simply get bored.
1 -
Yeah I only see it used on 2 killers. Clown and Bubba. And im all for deleting Bubba from this game cause he makes bamboozle not fun to go against.

I think I can agree why people can find it boring and takes away skills. But people are not mindful of the fact that dbd is 1 vs. 4. In competitive match, you can't constantly win mindgame against the optimal team and the best you can do is to get rid of resources in the map and zone survivors into dead zone. In casual game bamboozle is not needed

Chasing is so boring. oh you ran around that loop until i was just in range then dropped a pallet. Just like every other survivor. yawn. it's good to change it up.

Tbh I just never understood why they reduced the range from which you could hear Bamboozle, the only part I don't like about it is how I only realise it's in play when I'm running back to a window that the killer blocked.

Killers are in no way responsible for the fun or enjoyment of survivors. So use it let them get upset and move forward with your next game. I love bamboozle and lightborn with spirit fury enduring you can make a denial build on bubba.

Bamboozle would be less annoying if they did two things:
- The effect happens right as the killer begins vaulting, and not after it ends.
- The sound is made louder.
Bamboozle happening earlier and being easier to hear would give the survivors more warning.

What about the other side of the coin? I don't see survivors really caring about the fun of killers when they can go and make bully squads or just rush gens out with their BNP and perks. Or hell if they bring in a key and a map. Survivors do this stuff to killers all the time too and they still have the nerve to complain about -their- fun. The killer is a person too you know...they're not an npc. I'm sure they like having fun too.

Bamboozle is just one of those perks that, while not OP, ######### sucks to play against, kinda similar to dead hard. It just removes different way to the play game

The game needs limited communication between killer and survivor during a match. A wheel with preset dialogue. Otherwise the other person is a faceless machine and when they flash light click or whatever the killer only can really take it one way whether it was intended or not and camping/tunneling is just camping/tunneling.

This perk is literally the worst perk in terms of being unbalanced, I made a thread about it not so long ago, can't wait until it gets nerfed!

Why when survivors do not care if a killer has fun in his match. So trash mindset or not I am not obligated to do anything for you. Play by any means necessary. I am not on your team so I will do what works for me.

Damn, people are upset that people bring Bamboozle?
You know what happens when I get Bamboozled? I adapt. End of story.
