BHVR, of all the times to be silent, this isn't it.
You've been silent on many important issues that the community had. Hell, for the past couple of months it has essentially been radio silence on the forums.
But this isn't an issue that can just disappear if you ignore it hard enough. Optimization is an issue you promised a solution for two years ago, and you have nothing to show for it. In fact, it will continue to get worse the more DLC's you continually stack on the game.
Just please give us an answer, silence will only tell us where we as a community stand with you.

Which issue are you taking about? You have no context included.

Context now included

this is just an educated guess based on the 1.1k comment on the front page currently and talk of broken promises with a solution 2 years ago, but i think it might just be console optimisation

Yeah I just woke up from a nap, edited the post to have context.

As others have stated, their silence to me speaks volumes
They're not gonna do it. They've decided to run out the clock and let the last gen game die out as people upgrade to new consoles. There's literally no other reason to not say something about it at this point except that they're hoping people will just...get bored and wander away as their customers buy Series Xs/PS5s

Ultimately we'll never know unless they say something. Which, like you, I doubt they will.

game runs good on my ps4.
let’s talk about a spirit nerf instead!

How about we don't hijack someone else's post?

Optimization is ######### on pc too, I get fps drops all the time with a 9900k and 2060 so I know it's not my hardware. Really wish there was at least some acknowledgment of the issue.

Could be

It is, I was just tired and forgot to add context for the people who need it to know what I'm talking about.

They aren't going to do squat for last gen consoles, that much is written on the wall

No offense but silence doesn't indicate anything other than a company's reluctance to just jump and provide full details of wherever they stand and whatever they're doing any time someone decides that they want more answers.
More people need to understand how businesses work. There are press releases and other things of that nature for a reason. No one says "Oh, we're currently discussing this and we're about 27 percent along in trying to change it, here are the specific results of what's happening right now".

There hasn't been anything for 2 full years.

They've been like this for years unfortunately. I really think they're just hoping that the game will magically fix itself, the playerbase will stop caring, or last gen players will leave. Do they not understand that getting a PS5 or Series X is not easy at all? You either have to get lucky or drop almost $1000. I was one of the lucky ones to grab a PS5 but I'll still fight for optimization. I absolutely hate it when a version of a game struggles performance-wise and it's not due to hardware limitations. We all know that last gen consoles can run games that are much more demanding than DBD (RDR2, CODs, the recent RE games, and the PS4's insanely good-looking exclusives for example) with nowhere near as many problems, so the hardware being older can't be the main issue. If the devs actually cannot optimize console any further and this is the best we're getting, then they should just come out and tell us.
Same here, you can never tell with this community. It's crazy.

At this point if all I've heard about the coding of DBD is true, the only thing they can hope for is for it to fix itself.

I will say when I last played on Ps4 back before stranger things released it was pretty smooth. It went downhill from there

I hear you (no pun intended), and I understand that they very well may just have dismissed the subject, I'm just saying that silence isn't absolute proof. I think (I don't recall, I'd have to see it again) that they said they were working towards optimization in the 5 year stream but I don't recall.

There was mention of continuing to upgrade graphics and bring DBD up to par with newer games, but I do not recall any mention of optimization.

You could well be right, in which case I'm sorry about the continued lack of hope. I've been there, I know it sucks.

This is exactly what I think. But it still makes me sad and angry. Any official statement from devs even the negative one would be welcomed at this point

So true. Just forcing people to upgrade their hardware to enjoy the game is wrong. What makes matters worse is the lack of progress in implementing cross progression. If people do want to upgrade their system for DbD, they can't even switch to PC as a console gamer without losing substantial in-game progress and DLCs...
