Just bought Trickster, is the Main Event ability broken/gone? (Ps4)
Picked up Trickster while he's on sale, having a blast with him even though he's not super strong. I don't get what's going on with his ultimate ability though.
It seems to activate automatically as soon as the bar fills up, instead of allowing me to manually choose when to use it. It also doesn't seem to do anything. I get crazy yellow lines edging my screen, but I don't throw knives any faster, and my knife counted still depletes. One time when it was active my knives ran out and...I just stopped throwing them. But my Main Event progress bar was still dropping and the yellow lines didn't disappear.
What's going on?

i dont often play trickster so i might be wrong, but pretty sure those yellow edges doesnt mean the power is active, just that you are able to activate it. once they appear you need to press a button, and THEN you trigger main event

You're right. OP, press L1 to activate Main Event when you have it ready. You'll have around a 5 second window to do this or else it'll go away.

Correct. The vfx is there to tell you the ability is ready. When you trigger main event, an animation will play out where the Trickster draws his knives and then start throwing.

Ohhh, ok got it. Seems super dumb that you only have a couple of seconds to activate it or it's just gone. Especially since it feels like it takes a lot of knife hits to charge it up.

I wouldn't bother, Main Event is really bad. If the stars align and you're close to getting main event and, say, you're going to intercept a hook rescue then it's pretty good at bursting people down (something that Huntress and Bubba could do in half the time and with twice the efficiency but still...). But apart from that it's almost never useful.
