Idea for Hex Perks Fix.

Member Posts: 6

Hello.

Currently from the killer perspective hexes are high risk high reward perks, this would be fine if there weren't times due to the totem spawn that you can't even get the chance to defend the hex, they get done immediately. Which brings me to my suggestion.

When the trial begins there are no hex effects active, however the killer much like generators can see all map totems spawn, pick one, move to their location and activate the hex.

This would prevent hexes getting done immediately.

The killer can have a bit more control about his area and to make a obvious totem spawn possibly a trap using Haunted Ground.(this would take 2 totems to activate).

Activating a totem could take something like 5 seconds.

Once activated, it can't be moved only destroyed by the survivors. Also once the hex is activated all totems become invisible to the killer and only the activated hex aura is visible.

There's still a high risk component because the hex can be done normally and also survivors can see you activating the hex, you also loose a bit of time to do this.

Hex Perks wouldn't need much change.

This would also be a nerf to all hex builds because they would take a long time to setup and would be even riskier. Which is good in my opinion.

Personally I would hate this. Would waste too much time as killer. How many gens would be finished before you have your hex totems placed?Survivors could just watch the killer to see where they go and they'd know where the hexes are.

They should just make hexes either spawn furthest from Survivors or only light up when it comes into effect (ex. Survivor touching a gen with Ruin or gaining a token with Devour)

The idea is really interesting and I totally agree "Hex" perks are way too easy to deactivate in most of the matches, but I also agree that your system would take too much time to the killer and it opens a wide branch of problems to solve, such as:

-What if the killer decides to activate the "Hex:Ruin" until there is (for example) only 1 gen left for survivors?

-What would happen with later activation hex, such as Noed?

-Which would be placed first, Ruin or Undying?

-What if the killer only sets 1 of 2 totems of "Haunted Groud"?

    -etc...

Even those little issues to solve, I really like your idea, and maybe a mix of it with some change would be a legit solution for all those unfair "10 seconds Hex" :).

PD: Another thing that would help a lot would be making some of the Hex's spawns harder to find x). Peace.
