Lethal Pursuer + Deadzones.

I respect that Killers have needed something to start gaining momentum early game for a long time. However I’m already disliking Lethal Pursuer, not because I think it’s unhealthy, but because of how semi regularly on maps like Shelter Woods, most Cold Wind maps, Ormond, Swamp, you can spawn in dead zone with not enough time to get anywhere reasonable before hearing the killer on top of you.

The only killer that can get to you fairly quickly but without warning (assuming no add-ons) is wraith though. Otherwise lethal pursuer has shown me survivors that spawn practically within my radius but that's more spawns being stupid.

I would say even at that point, even Wraith has a warning of sorts (I mean, he has to actually go through an uncloak to be able to hit you.) Just a small criticism though. I still agree with what you said overall.

The fortunate side though, is that it's a one-and-done effect. I already thought it was pretty garbage on a majority of killers, and even one of the killers that can use it well (Nurse) doesn't really need perks to win anyway. Now that they buffed it my feelings haven't changed a bit. So even if you get spawned in a dead zone, at least the worst that might happen is you take an injury and have to run away, and then you're playing against a 3 perk killer. Plus they can only really pressure 1 survivor if people are smart enough to split when they see the killer.

Best I can say is to just know your maps. Most dead zones, granting the killer spawns decently far from you, can be cut through to find at least something within a reasonable time, even if it's just an L-T wall. Can't do much about dead zones and map RNG, but you can at least try to do your best with it and just make do with what small obstacles you have. Then you know to avoid that area.

It seems to me that Lethal Pursuer has value in two scenarios

Killers who need a quick start in the early game (Shape, Oni). Even if they can't get to the survivors before the auras expire it at least makes sure they aren't searching randomly.

As a beginner/training perk (I imagine veterans have a general idea of where to start looking when a match starts, and this perk can help newer killers the same way.
