the number of people saying their platform overheating since the patch is... unsettling
Like, I have seen a good number of people across social media saying their consoles or PCs are simply overheating with nemesis matches, and they don't have potato pcs either.
So... this is honestly the point where we need a focus on performance and stuff. screw new chapters and cosmetics, fix the thing before someone looks into whether or not there can be a collective lawsuit due to property damage (which iirc has happened already to another company)

That doesn't really mean much, they could have very poor ventilation (quite common because people dump a ton of money into CPU/GPU/RAM and forget PSU, motherboard, cooling, etc.).
(which iirc has happened already to another company)

My Xbox overheated earlier (with a box fan helping cool it) and it hasn't turned on since.
I am trying to fix ir, but no luck yet.

If playing the game is overheating right now I strongly urge everyone to just quit playing DBD altogether until they announce that problems have been fixed. I don't know if this is a severe memory leak or what but no game is worth shortening (or ending) the life of their gaming machine for.

Can I just warn people here that at least my graphics setting have been randomly getting switched to ultra(highest) when I am using lower graphics settings.
So I hope people are checking their graphics to turn them back down if this glitch is happening to anyone else.

Im getting framerate drops from 120-103 on a brand new 3060 Nvidia Graphics Card and that's sad.

DBD is the only game doing so, and only since 5.0.0. RE Village? Nothing. NiNoKuni remake? No problems. 30 tabs of Chrome? Zero issues. Modded Minecraft except I've given the shaders shaders and cranked all settings up to 140%? Smooth as butter.
DBD? Choppy, overheating, stuttering.
It's, quite frankly, embarassing.

I loved it so much.
I still need to grind more achievements but on the 2nd playthrough the area leading up to the first Vileheart fight (I think it's the Misasma Marshes??) was so much harder for no reason.

Oh thank God it's not just me. Happened yesterday and just happened again now during a really fun match - both games Vs nemesis Locked out yet again from matchmaking so just turned the thing off it's not worth causing console issues. I've played at most busy on it about 18 hours a day for about 5 days (actually got a week off and child free so refused to move 😂) and I've never had it overheat before. I've only had it on an hour.

You should check the graphics setting when you load it up as they might have been randomly set to ultra which has been causing over heating issues for my PC.

I know that DBD is dangerous for my PS4 Pro. This game made me change the thermal paste twice. No other game makes my vent turn into a jet engine besides some past updates of DBD.
The last update is one of these damaging ones. I know that I’ll have to change my thermal paste after the massive overheat I had this afternoon trying the new chapter. My console will no longer maintain proper temperature as it should after what this game made it endure. This is really concerning.

The new patch overheats my console as hell, DBD at 1080 60 FPS makes my console feel like an oven. I tried It also on my new PC (2 Months old) and with a 2400€ PC, my 3080 is getting Hot like a volcando and my GPU usage is literally ridiculous with low graphs.
I dont know what happens, but I can play WoW Shadowlands at Max graphics with Raytracing On with 48-50 degrees, 1080 144 FPS. But DBD makes It turn in 80 degrees with Low graphs config, ridiculous

I'm new to the forums here, but I'm experiencing this all currently. After the big bird update my console (PS5) will run the game fine for bout an hour or so then it will crash mid match and I can't power it on at all unless I unplug the cord and plug it back in. This hasn't happened with any other game as I play apex a bit longer than DBD but I've had it happen 3 times to me this week and I'm scared to let It happen again. don't want it corrupting my files or console. Any suggestions on what I should do or should I wait for an update for the game?
