Camping killer vs toxic survivors.

So it seems everyone is at each others throats these days. Killers moan about how toxic survivors are, doing SWF to bully killers far below their rank, teabagging, and just general bad manners.

Survivors moan about killers who take glee in facecamping and ruining the game for other people.

However it's important to realize that these people are often one and the same.

It started when I had toxic survivors on my team. The usual P3 meta perk build who clicks their flashlight and teabags the killer every chance they get. I click their steam profile after the game and surprisigly theres a load of comments calling them a camper. Strange.

So recently I've taken note of all the killers who camped me or other survivors in a really trollish way and then gloated about it after the game. I've seen their twitches and youtubes, and you kbow what I learned?

When they play survivor they're the Nea's, dwights and claudettes with the typical perks, the flashlight, the tebagging, the level 2 survivors joining with friends at rank 14 so they can bully easy killers etc and on top of this they actually put out videos about just that - bullying new killers and they gloat about how much salt they get whether they play killer or survivor.

I think people have been arguing like one side is worse but really its often just the same toxic people playing both sides.

So what can be done about it?

This is why I like streamers like truetalent, hybridpanda, damnnohtml etc because they focus on being non-toxic in their videos.

We're sadly at a state now where it's cool to be toxic. I won't name anyone but we know there's at least a few out there who have made their entire name off videos of "being toxic" in games. While I don't think the blame lies with them I do think it's morally wrong to try and popularize that kind of playstyle.

actually that's a really interesting point that I hadn't stopped to consider, but it makes perfect sense.

you think someone who's camping survivors is suddenly going to play with morals when they swap to the survivor role? nah, they're going to be just as toxic but in different ways.

It's a shame we have no tools to avoid people like that...

Yes these people just don't care. Next time you see one check their profile to see if they have a twitch or youtube. You'll find videos of them being toxic on both sides.

They make videos gloating about all the "salt" they get. No matter which role they play they're only out to annoy other people.

sadly, I'm on xbone so I won't be able to see a detailed profile, possibly some twitch links or something, but I'm not going out of my way to check that out.

maybe one day when I buy this for pc, but I kinda doubt I will any time soon... that's a lot of DLC to purchase just to play the same game.

There's also a LOT of them that don't stream or upload.
Y'know, afraid of backlash every single day instead of just once in the aftergame chat.

I don't stream duer to no camera and rom isn't set up for it and I also don't play Nea, I rarely play Claudette and I don't tea bag bm. Now singling out certain characters and saying it's only these that're toxic is confirmation bias because i've had games as both sides. I've seen Bills, Quentins, Adams, Davids etc do it, I've seen with and without flashlights and P3 outfits.

The common theme is always oh it's P3 and flashlights so they must be toxic, no that's just your confirmation bias talking. Since you forget all the games where it was a P3 with flashlight they were normal players and the same is true for killers, not every Billy or Bubba is a camper.

I'm not saying those characters are toxic. Chill out it was just an example because often it's the usual characters. Obviously it can be any of them.

Not sure why you assume I'm refering to you?

And no not all P3 Claudettes with flashlight are toxic.

But there's a good chance that someone toxic will be using a P3 Claudette with a flashlight.

    You undersrand what I mean?

By toxic we're talking constant taunting and extremely abusive language in the postgame lobby.

Simply using a flashlight isn't toxic.
