Petition to remove linked sets from Dead by Daylight

Title.

Most sets have no business being permanently linked in the game. It doesn't do anything but discourage people from buying them as they cannot be mixed and matched. Yun Jin for example has no good cosmetics outside of her set, but I'm not going to buy the whole thing just to have some hair that isn't trash.

Licensed cosmetics and legendary character cosmetics, like the one that switches Jill Valentine to Claire Redfield, should stay the same as that's probably the best for the license holders.

I don't think there's a single person who doesn't want this, every time a new linked set gets announced people complain in the comments yet nothing is done about this. The one time we have a bug to do exactly what we want and you guys patch it out. Why?

You realize that the linked sets wouldnt even exist if they couldn’t create them as linked sets? If you have a problem with them you can just ignore them and not buy them. There are not-linked cosmetics and there will come many more of those.

maybe instead ask for 2piece sets when the other cosmetic piece wouldn’t have problems like clipping etc.

Linked sets aren't going anywhere. What the game needs is for the devs to bother using the option to sell sets that are two linked pieces and one unlinked. Plenty of survivor sets don't need a linked head. Most killer sets don't need a linked weapon. On licensed characters they may not have a choice, but on original characters this is a choice and it's a consumer-unfriendly one.

I'm especially bugged by the Crypt TV sets, where Doc and Huntress are linked but Hag is unlinked. I don't think Doc and Huntress need to be linked at all, but they could certainly have the weapon unlinked. (I'd really like to mess around with Huntress's Mordeo cosmetics, I hate that they're a set and I probably won't purchase them unless they're unlinked, that weapon takes up a third of the screen!)

I feel they should sell the Jill's and Leon's cosmetic as a two-pieces-set instead of adding the exact same head as their basic outfits...

If there were two-pieces-set, I'd consider to get the Leon's one.

To be fair, in Leon’s case the head is not exactly the same, could be more distinctive of course.

also this is probably a licensing issue and not the devs themselves. Probably..

They have those thoughts. But there is more than one person working on bug fixes and this fix was probably not as time consuming (plus may have been prio because of license holders) and it’s the Community that obsesses over it..

I'm fine with them keeping the licensed sets linked (though it'd be nice not to have them linked), but anything non-licensed should not be linked

Jill's head is the same, but Leon's is basically just a different hair cut. It pisses me off because he still looks like a baby despite RE4 Leon not being a rookie

Fun fact, you are going to be ignored and this petition will gather nothing but dust as all petitions do against large companies like BHVR. Stop trying now and save your breath.

Boycott skins especially the linked one.

    Sadly, petitions generally mean nothing.

I'm all for the idea of all sets being unlinked, though. ALL sets. I don't like being forced to spend ten or fifteen dollars on an entire outfit if I only want, say, the torso.

Maybe they should put in more than minimal effort considering each skin is 10 bucks. Even unlinked skins have clipping issues so this argument doesn’t even make any sense, and I don’t even think the community cares that some sets have clipping issues.

Yes!!! Liked sets for the same character shouldn't be a thing unless it is a legendary skin for a different character entirely, if we don't protest then all future cosmetics will most likely all be linked sets. I have a very few amount of cosmetics because I am not rich and cannot pour my bank account into DBD but I was so upset when I couldn't get the classic Very Rare jacket for Leon, not cool BEhaviour stop being so greedy!

I really want them to unlink those linked sets. At least for the original character, because I couldn't care less for the licensed characters. I really care a lot about how my characters look, it's incredibly important to me. Glitching outfits gave you the opportunity to create insane outfits. There were so many different things you could create, so much creativity. And now it's gone. I kind of understand why they don't want you to glitch their licensed characters, but their originals? It's just dumb, in my opinion.

For me. When I realised that they patched this, I had a hard time processing it. It was like, they removed so many possibilities. I only had 1 glitched outfit, and it was my favourite one. I spent 15£ on a Nea set, and I only wanted to change the shirt. Because the head and the pants look amazing. 15£ is quite a lot for me, and by patching the outfit glitch, I feel a bit robbed. I know I shouldn't because you weren't supposed to glitch those outfits in the first place. But really, why would they want to make cosmetics and outfits and not letting us use those to their fullest potential? It ridiculous, nothing can go wrong with unlinking the sets for the original characters. It would just make the community happier.

And once again, I don't care about the licensed characters. But unlink the originals linked sets. Please BHVR!

Yep. Makes absolutely no sense why any original characters have linked sets at all. I can understand the licensed ones and probably needing permission which is a hassle, so that's fine by me. But I don't see any reason why original characters should have any linked sets at all. BHVR is not bound by legal contracts and are simply just too lazy to spend a very small amount of time to fix any clipping issues the linked sets might have if you unlink them. I really don't get it.

Why does this bother you? you literally said to bhvr linked sets are ok by purchasing them. Enjoy wearing your unmixable set.
