The only thing one side have which the other don't is communication, and that can be resolved by simply adding a wheel of pre-made messages to say "I'm being chased", "The Killer is near me", "I'm going for the save", and much other messages, that will make a massive change to improve solo. It's not equals or better than voice communication, but it improves the game for like, 80%.

I like this idea as I am 95% soloing. I have to say thank you to whoever posted that arms moving on hook means killer is camping. I had no idea. I was always wondering why I was rarely taken off the hook. Now I know.

Plenty of solo queue 'stupid' is just a lack of communication, though. Like there was one time I chased a survivor with an active RBT trying to heal them, which they refused and shook their head at me because duh, except I had For The People and I wanted to instaheal them. Or there've been times where I ran past someone on hook because the killer picked up on me part of the way there and I didn't want to unhook in their face, but they had DS and they would have rather been unhooked right then, and from their perspective I just led the killer back to them for no reason. Once I was watching a streamer's gameplay against me who kept making the wrong decisions because they just didn't understand what Devour Hope did, and complained their teammates were being idiots when in actuality the teammates were the ones behaving correctly (running away from heals, leaving gens alone in favor of totems.) And I've been on both sides of the equation where one player is running out in the open for an unhook and brings the killer back (because they don't think anyone else is on it and could get to that part of the map in time/they have BT) while another player is creeping for the save (because they want to extract the player safely and heal them) and now can't get it.
I've seen teammates do all sorts of moronic and useless things, but you can't always be sure how much of it is cluelessness and how much of it is just everyone being on a different page when it comes to plans and information.

I've watched players self-care to completion with active RBTs and then go back to gens, I've watched players get infected by a gen, cleanse, and then immediately go back to the infected gen and get sick again, and I've watched players refuse to travel 10m for an unhook while the killer was in a chase on the other side of the map because they were so dedicated to hiding in a bush for the entire game. Some people are just stupid, new, or actively throwing the game for a rift challenge. SWF will always have an advantage because you can pick your friends and you're not going to end up with randomly malicious teammates or teammates that are totally uninterested in helping the team. But you could still improve solo queue quite a bit by adding forms of comms/information.

That is one of the issues i have with people on the forums. While solo que is worse than swf, you cannot fix stupid players. You can have basekit kindred, a totem counter, a ping system, none of that will stop Claudette from self caring in the corner while mangled.
Bad team mates do not make the role or build you were using weak.

If they added voice chat in game that could fix solo q tho that would probably be concidered too powerful

There's no need for messages, no need to re-invent the wheel, just add all that information to the HUD. "I'm being chased" is already implemented for the obsession. Implement it for all players. "The Killer is near me" - add a beating heart icon to the survivor HUD, whenever a survivor hears a heartbeat. "I'm going for the same" - just implement kindred as a basekit, without Killer aura. Or, alternatively, show when a survivor is sprinting on the HUD and repairing gens. If someone gets hooked and prior to that everyone was doing gens or at least no one was sprinting and suddenly started doing so, then it's clear he went for a save. That's actually a LOT of information and a lot more can be inferred from it.
This way you don't have to waste time to press any buttons to send messages, there will be no messages spam by kids. And there will always be people, who will refuse to share any information by sending messages. An automatic system (more HUD info) is much better in any regard.

Adding game coms or a chat wheel would fix solo q. Idk why the devs have not done this yet.

They don't because it's a online "competitive" gameplay. There would be alot of kids screaming and saying ######### to each other, and it would just incentive bad behavior. People will just say bad things because someone did something wrong and they will start to yell at each other.
Why do you guys think league of legends don't enable voice communication in solo queue? You can only voice with your premade friends, which then isn't a problem.

-The best way to fix solo queue is to add a proper matchmaking system so we don't have to deal with MegHeads and Blendettes in our games.
-Add icons showing somebody heals/gets healed,does a generator or gets chased
-Additionally add a map wide sound effect + location ping when somebody cleansed a dull totem similiar to hex totems.
-Let people see the loadout of teammates in the pre game lobby and the game

No but one bad dbd game can sour the mood very fast. Its up there with league when it comes to a loss just being so much more frustrating then any other game at least for me and my friend's. Especially when a solo does something so dumb it gets us all killed. At least with pings there will be less incidents of randos screwing over 3 stacks or 2 stacks.

Well solo q is only bad when ur good but in low ranks. (So say your skill is rank 6 but your in rank 15 or somethin.) The higher the ranks the less people are dumb.

That works for the first and second week of rank reset. Then the rest get to the top and its just miserable.

It’s not that hard to fix. I have found that as a solo player, kindred has helped me and my teammates out a lot. I was wondering if they could make Kindred base kit, minus the killer aura reading and give the killer aura reading over to Camaraderie. See killers aura, and you instantly know that the person on hook has Camaraderie and you buy more time to make a save.
I don’t think I have seen anyone use Camaraderie except for Steve achievement and competitive play.

Camaraderie is my main perk but ofc only in swf. It's very strong when ur playing on mic with people

It's shocking how unwilling survivors are to adapt.
Kindred is basically a must run when solo que. It does wonders. But survivors want to run second chance perks and nothing else.
Look at when the Ruin/Undying meta was in full force. Small game and Detective's Hunch were in the game. Bring one of those and you can straight up delete two killer perks, leaving him with half a build. I saw those perks in less than 10 games during that time. Instead of adapting, the go to is to just complain untill it gets changed. Considering survivor's far out number killers, they are always going to listen to survivors instead of killers. Killers will get some love when the que times for survivors get too long.

Adding coms isn't going to stop toxic people from being toxic. We all already deal with hate messages in this game.
Coms, however, will give people the ability to communicate and hopefully have more fun/engaging matches.
Adding coms doesn't mean everyone has to be on coms 24/7. You can choose to leave coms off if that is your thing, or... and I know this may shock you, but if someone is flaming and being a bully in chat... there is a mute button.
Not adding positive things to a game because jerks exist is backwards thinking. There will always be jerks, but that shouldn't stop me from being able to talk, meet people, and coordinate with my team.

I solo q all the time (as none of my friends like playing this game as much as I do) and my go to set up is Distortion, Iron Will, Bond, Detectives Hunch. That helps me survive quite a lot more than anything else I've worked with.

A good example to improve is like what other people suggested. It could be like in Identity V when you could give out your current progress on gen, healing, totem, exit gate, chest opening and anything else which requires progress. You can say “hunter is after me!” “Don’t decode together!” “Focus on decoding!” “Cipher machine primed.” Stuff like that

DEVs said once that they don't want to add coms and I hope they never will. It just doesn't fit the game and here in Europe it's gonna be useless for many people anyway. And there's just no need for coms, there are other ways to fix soloQ.

Yeah that's what i mean. There are a lot of perks that really help in solo play. But people avoid them, run Dead Hard, Unbreakable, Adrenaline, and Iron Will then complain. I get solo isn't as good as swf, but people don't adapt and then complain about how hard solo is.
When i play solo survivor i use Kindred, Lithe, We'll make it, and Borrowed time. A pretty reasonable build and I don't have anywhere near the problems some people on here say they have.
I had someone tell me that as a solo survivor looping as a skill doesn't actually matter at all.

No you cant and I know this is mostly a joke thread but real talk unless you give solo q like a 50% buff to gen speed it will never compete when people know what they are doing but they can at least try.

I'm trash at looping and find it boring as hell, however, looping IS important, regardless if you're solo q or SWF. IDK who told you a solo q being a good looper didn't matter, but they are an idiot.
I don't have quite as many issues with solo q as other people do, but I do have issues with bad teammates who have no idea ######### to do and do very irritating things like unhook me while killer is chasing them, and not having BT so the killer just knocks me back down immediately before I can do anything, and resulting in me being hooked again. I have considered the idea on if having not only Kindred as base kit but also BT. Not because of killers, but because of fellow survivors.
As far as perks go, I don't like the "meta" perks for the most part (Iron Will being the exception. That perk is SO useful). They just aren't fun or interesting to me. I prefer to run perks I enjoy, and even change up my build depending on what I'm trying to accomplish.
Trying to heal survivor health states? Empathy, Botany, Iron Will, For The People.
Trying to get safe unhooks? BT, Kindred, WGLF, We'll Make It.
Feel like trolling the killer a bit? Diversion, Red Herring, Head On, (and that perk that lets you fake a rushed locker). (I'm also considering changing Head On for Blast Mine on this one).

Whether or not it fits the game is personal opinion. DBD is a team game, and a fun game. Having coms would not only help us solo people out in matches but it would just make the game more fun (for social peeps). On top of that coms doesn't break the game (swf).
The issue is the devs allowed swf. If they intended for the game to be a 4 solo with no communication they should have kept it that way. We now have a divided community and two different games. DBD solo and DBD swf.
And you are right, coms doesn't work for everyone. Language barrier, some don't like talking, and yes some will be toxic... but that is why you can choose to toggle it off or mute certain players.
There are a few things that could help fix solo q but coms is a big one. Being able to talk to my team, even if it just in the lobby, would be amazing!

It's one of those things that will never have a widely accepting meaning. I have seen just as many people say "waving your arms = being camped" as I have seen people say "waving your arms = come save me". I have even seen people say they teabag the killer to "be friendly". Yeah. If you want to be unhooked more your best bet is Kindred.

I agree but I get some good squads occasionally. The issue is the killers are built for red ranks, off streamer input. For casual players with lives outside the internet, the game is brutal and very unfun. Good post.

Exactly, i still want buffs to solo survivor, but it is nowhere near as bad as people exaggerate on here.

You would be shocked at how much a little information can change the game. Solo players are remarkably better if they ditch a SWF meta perk for bond or kindred so they won't pointlessly leave gens for a save or run the killer to nearly completed gens.
I have seen it happen and the games where I am not the only one using one of these are a breeze.

I agree with you, but If I'm playing an online game and someone calls me "Hey you piece of ######### do something, your mon is a #########", I will mute him but then my mood will already be affected, and it will affect my entire gameplay. Some people care, some don't, so they choose to do not allow this to happen.
