S.T.A.R.S. Field Combat Manual is a Meme
"Zombies' auras turn yellow for 6 seconds after hitting a survivor."
This is arguably the single worst Killer add-on in Dead by Daylight's history. Its effect only occurs if a zombie gets a hit on a Survivor. Not only is this hard to do by itself, but it's very situational in the fact that you'll mostly get zombie hits because Survivors are between you and them.
Plus, it's not good for notification either, since zombies already do a good job of that by themselves by raising their hands up when Survivors are located by them.
This has to be the single worst add-on in the game for Killers. Sure, there's other contenders like Speed Limiter or Mementos Blades, but they at least grant you better scoring events altogether. This one doesn't grant you anything and offers something that isn't even usable.
Can you even name a single worse add-on in the game?

They should change it to
-when a zombie hits a survivor they do a little dance

Well, cannibal has an add-on that makes his M2 injure survivors rather than down them; kind of hard to beat this killer's equivalent of no mither.

I know full well about Speed Limiter, but even that has its synergies when given other add-ons, and it still compensates with more points per scoring event.

Still better than him red add-ons. Nemesis has worst red add-ons ever.

Billy has speed limiter too

When I was leveling Nemesis I thought by the icon it could look good... and then after many levels I read the effect and...
Well.... Nevermind then...

They should change it so it only reveals stars members. That way it only Highlights Jills and people using the Chris skin.

Yeah, it's called every single self-nerf add-on.

Amanda's Secret, Waterlogged Shoe, almost every single add-on that inflicts a self-imposed penalty in exchange for Bloodpoints. All off the top of my head.

I'd say it's situational in terms of its weak value. Had a game on Léry's where a survivor was infected by a zombie across the map, and I was too occupied kicking a gen to see which zombie performed the hit, given they were both opposite of my location.

You still gain a benefit for using them. Yes, there's something that penalizes you, but you still get something back.
Field Combat Manual gives you no benefit at all. I'd rather have something that trades off your benefit than something that doesn't benefit you at all.

I could probably name about 10 add ons that are worse

It would be cool if the combat manual allowed zombies to crawl over windows — that would be nice since they would be able to pressure survivors more easily! 😁

If their trade-off is better Bloodpoint rewards during score events, they are not worse.
If they are trade-offs in general, they are not worse.

I mean there's a reason it's a brown add-on.

The BP is meaningless for the most part as it doesn’t exceed the total.

I'd say its one of the most pointless add-ons in the game rather then one of the worst.
Nearly all BP farming add-ons gameplay effects are strictly negative, all in exchange for bonus Deviousness BP that you'd usually won't need to max-out deviousness.

The penalty you get from these is greater than the benefit and overall make your character WEAKER. That is worse than an add-on that effectively does nothing.

Pointless? Probably but the worst? Nah. STARS combat manual just has a pretty lame effect but it isn't a detriment or anything of the sorts. There's far worse out there like Myer's vanity mirror which is a vastly inferior version of the scratched mirror.

I'd prefer it if it were yellow when persuing.
The amount of times I've ran to a zombie with its arms out and theres no one there in a wide empty space is crazy.
