So, do y'all like being dragged around loops by Deathslinger?
It's honestly one of the best feelings in this game.
Or when Deathslinger drags himself around a loop and uses you as an anchor. He lets go at the last second before it breaks, swings, and hits you around the entire loop. This is one of my favorites.
Oh, oh OH !! Or when Deathslinger is behind you for like 4 seconds while you try to dodge his shots by going left and right in an unpredictable pattern, you dead hard to a pallet, he shoots you as soon as you put the pallet down and drags himself around the loop....Oh, baby, this hits the spot, this is my favorite moment in all of DBD.
/s
I have been on both ends.
If you use Monitor on Deathslinger you honestly disgust me.

Yeah actually Deathslinger is one of my favorite killers to face, honestly.

I want to complain that he gets some cheap seeming hits, but I personally have terrible aim and am happy letting those better enjoy what they got xD

This is why I love playing slinger :D

Most of the Deathslinger I've faced use Monitor and for good reason.. Not to mention STBL
Yesterday I've faced 4 and honestly think I've had of enough of DBD for the remainder of the week. All with monitor... Also, a couple of them loved Tinkerer.
With monitor I can only hear his Terror Radius once he's aimed his gun at my rear end. Sometimes, I can feel the harpoon before I feel him approaching. Killers, if u wonder why some people use spine chill.... just remember... Deathslinger with Monitor & Abuse exists... At least, this is one of the reasons.

Or even better if you want to get behind something to block his chain but deathslinger realises he can just walk backwards to prevent any movement

I honestly rarely go against Slinger. Mostly Huntress. I get that he can be very frustrating when he just shoots you and your distance on him doesnt matter if he hits the shot and can pull you in but thats literally all he has in his kit. Lethal but completely lacking in 4v1 and map pressure. For those reasons I dont really mind facing him. I bait him to miss a few times and get a decent chase and that can win the game vs him.

Happy to disgust you. 😉

I like when you get shot in a way that makes it impossible for them to hit you, so you don’t even try to break the chain, and force the slinger to swing at the air.

I'm a Slinger main and I love using M&A. You need to stop letting your hatred and anger take control of you. I hate getting blinded by the new surv perk, doesn't mean I'm gonna come to the forums and say "Survivors disgust me"
9 -
At least Slinger requires genuine skill, something most people like to ignore.
19 -
I've never seen any complaints about slinger that say he takes no skill.
1 -
Yeah maybe it’s because I’m on console but I’m never been able to get the hang of him. Compare that to me playing huntress and winning most matches fairly easily
1 -
Nearly every Slinger complaint thread since he was released, and on Twitter, Reddit and the steam forums.
Perhaps its died down recently, but when I was a Slinger main you'd swear I was playing Bamboozle Bubba or Forever Freddy.

Deathslinger is not your friend. He is your enemy. Your enemy will always annoy and stymie you. That's the whole gist of a PvP game.

Honestly I really don't think he does because of quickscoping and M&A. Just by merely existing in line of sight without shooting you force survivors to juke around and lose a ton of distance. Sure you can be really good and land some crazy shots but it's really not necessary as just the threat of him shooting is enough most of the time.
And having such a small terror radius with no lullaby like the other ranged killers allows him to walk up on survivors unless they're both out in the open and see him coming.
2 -
It's a high skill to master, chase specialist killer who lacks at everything else. Of course he's going to be very strong in chase, if you want to beat him in it, you need to seriously outplay him with some insane reads, not just hope for the best.
I love playing him and facing him, much more entertaining then far more boring M1 killer gameplay.
1 -
Well, one's a perk that can be used once or twice a match. If not at all.
The other is using a perk to make DS terror radius practically non-existent.
I've played him myself, I know what he's capable of.

There you go.
1 -
Now, to answer you... No, those survivors absolutely suck. Randomly tapping to the side doesn't slow you down and makes the shot significantly harder. Plus, quickscoping is extremely ######### hard and requires pinpoint accuracy with no aim.
2 -
I love Deathslinger for exactly that reason! God, nothing is more enjoyable after a rough day at work... Those Deathslinger shots in the distance are like music to my ears! I have to say though, the best part of the experience by far is when the entity finally takes you to heaven so you no longer have to waste any braincells on trying to dodge an undodgable harpoon.
1 -
In my opinion he needs to have that phenomenal 1v1 or else he'd be trash. Because
1. No mobility
2. Weak snowball
3. No slowdown in his kit.
2 -
I'm not just saying these things, I have actually played several hours of Deathslinger and have over 1000 hours playing both sides. His aim always goes to the same spot on the screen with no variation or sway and always has 100% accuracy where you point it no matter how quickly you shoot it after readying. It's really not hard at all if you've played any other shooter for more than a couple of hours.
And no, those survivors don't suck. If they didn't try to juke (granted, most survivors try to juke too much but it's a complete guessing game for them) or look back to check if Deathslinger has line of sight I'd say they do suck but the reality is that his mere existence creates a lose-lose situation for the survivor unless he shoots early and misses, which is the same thing Behaviour said was problematic about Pyramid Head's power when they reworked his power.

I will say that I don’t like going against slinger but he’s definitely not the least fun to verse. And his map pressure is kind’ve weak so even though his chase is strong you can kind of just pre-drop omega safe pallets and waste his time. I just wish he had some kind of wind up like huntress so survivor’s even had just a second to react, that’s my only real complaint about him though.
1 -
Yeah... I love it. I'm a masochist.

Cackling cowboy noises
my favorite is when deathslinger are able to snipe you through small holes in the wall.
I can't even be mad at that
2 -
People saying “good slingers don’t miss” implies that they don’t think he takes much skill. It is actually really difficult to hit shots against good survivors.
1 -
Yep. Love facing Evil Clint Eastwood. He's honestly one of my favorite killers to go against and the first one I ever prestiged on Xbox.

Ikr it's so enjoyable, but what can you do. People want easy games so they opt for skilless easy killers.
I also do it too, I play spirit or any other killer that requires such little thought whenever I want to relax and basically play the game on autopilot, like one of those mobile " games" where you just stare at the characters fighting or whatever.
For slinger, I mean I get why people would choose him, survivors can't dodge his little bullet because it moves so fast so it gives the killer control in that aspect. It's on the killer to mess up, most slingers just wait for the survivor to vault so that they are stuck in an animation and then shoot, so easy.
1 -
If the loop is unsafe I don't see why he shouldn't be able to drag you around. There plenty of loops where even with dragging, the chain breaks before you can get to the survivor. What is bullshit however, is the free zoning by spamming M2, that really needs to be addressed. It feels cheap to use and be on the receiving end of.

I love going up against Deathslinger, but it's so rare for me. Kinda makes me sad

Monitor/stbfl/nurses/ and sloppy. Always a fun time. My favorite is playing this on corn maps.

Love playing gunslinger with M&A survivors are always clueless. Its like they never check their surroundings or something idk. Hes the best at 1v1. His aim is hard at first but with practice you can become a spicy gunslinger.
1 -
At least DEathslinger doesnt have a heatseeking addon so his shots auto guided
1 -
Literally 99% of loops cannot be dragged around unless you set up a shot to do so and then the survivor can actually dodge it of they predict correctly.
I see you like generalising.
2 -
He's honestly so boring to face.

I was told that if you're harpooned, but then lean and put an object between you and the Slinger (which should, logically, become an interception between the two of you) then the cord would "break" and you'd be able to run. I don't get the Deathslinger that often and of course I'm not TRYING to get harpooned so I haven't had much chance to test this, but in my experience working an object between the two of you does nothing, you just kind of slip around it as he reels you in. Am I doing something wrong or was I misinformed?

Wraith can also trick you out by ringing his bell without transitioning to or from a cloak, which I find sneaky but actually a pretty cool strategy. I hate the damn character these days but that's something that I find to be a neat psychological trick. I haven't faced Slinger enough (or ever played as him) to know what it's like for him to do what you describe, but it sounds like a neat way to psych out opponents (as annoying as that would be for the opponent, yes).

If you gave Slinger a lullaby or increased TR it would destroy him. The Redeemer has a limited range and he is 4.4m/s, so survivors would just run early and he'd never be able to spear anyone without wasting exorbitant amounts of time.
1 -
Ah, I see. That's a fair argument. I've never experienced it but based on the way you just described it, yeah, I could see that as being more stressful and irritating than fun.

There's many things you can do against deathslinger. Keep in mind that his projectile has travel time so if you're far enough and pay enough attention you can dodge as soon as you hear him shooting. Pre-drop pallets and he can't do squat to you. If your team spreads out you can beat him if he doesn't force a 3 gen on you. Also, deadhard when he shoots. Him pulling you around the loop is situational, most of the time as a deathslinger you'll just want to break the chain as fast as possible and go on with your day. Honestly, when I get experienced survivors I can barely reel them in. Sure, I can get the cheeky monitor and abuse hit but then what? They get sprintburst and run and I get basic attack cooldown+reloading. That's a lot of time for you to run and be completely safe! When you have trouble against a killer go online and search for strategies against them. Most killers don't cut it at high level play so you'll be able to find something to counter them with.

Ikr its literally a non-issue.

Be disgusted all you want. Its hard to hit survivors with that gun, and i need every advantage. Trust me, if he hits you, he deserves the hit.

What I hate about Wraith is that it's way too easy for him to get free hits now. From the sounds of it though (and the fact that many people agree with you guys that Deathslinger is annoying to face) I believe your description. I wouldn't want to be playing the game with this constant uncertain mindgame following behind me everywhere I go.
Don't have a problem with Pyramid Head or Nemesis (yet, lol).

The fact that when he backpaddles, you can't wiggle left and right like you're SUPPOSED to be able to do, is bullshit and it has to be a bug.
