What are the chances of the Anniversary Update & Mid-chapter update to fail?
Would you still play DBD?
Just asking. I have some things going on in the background that have my full attention for the time being so I've set DBD aside.
What would happen if the Anniversary Update fails to deliver and the Mid-Chapter Update doesn't bring anything meaningful? Would you still play DBD if both fail or if the Anniversary Update fails?

Yes. I play DBD exclusively for the great game it once was, not for the mess it currently is.
No failed updates can change that.

If the Anniversary is a flop and the mid-chapter repeats 4.5.0 then yeah I think I'd actually quit dbd, even if just for a couple months. Every chapter since Deathslinger (except Silent Hill but it's because I like playing as PH) has been flop after flop after flop and at this point I'm so tired.

An OMEGA Mid-Chapter truly is a Dream. I can even see it: Overheat removed, Freddy rework, Spirit nerf, major bug fixes, optimization, and this hopeful list goes on.

I mean people have already stated that the anniversary is a failure since it's recycled content. Honestly I'm fine if as long as whatever they implement works.

I would say there is a near 100 percent chance of something not working as intended. Look at year 4
If it 100 percent bloodpoint cakes stackable tho I'm playing the hell out of it.

If we're talking Anniversary update -> The Inability to enjoy the event due to issues.
If we're talking Mid-Chapter -> Something we never asked for that BHVR decide it'd be a good idea to push onto us despite all of the 300 other issues that need desperate fixing or changing. To give one example is not fixing x perk that is bugged or whatever OR not buffing x killer, for example Nemesis since he's the most recent one. Also who could forget performance issues.

Bhvr quality of chapters and events have been absolute rubbish for atleast the past 2 years.

They already broke and don't stack. So already a failure to me since I doubt it will get fixed in time.

The Anniversary Event has already failed. Let me explain. Around November/December 2020, they announced officially that they would be scaling back on Winter Solstice / Lunar New Year events in order to put "more effort towards our Anniversary & Halloween related events." They promised to make events "that truly feel special by...focus[ing] on which events need the most effort." See screenshot below (and see official page on which this is found here).
They have already over-promised and under-delivered before it has even started. During the Anniversary stream and RE Chapter Reveal, they revealed that little to no effort was put into this event. Yes they brought back "community challenges," but the event is copy-paste the 4th Anniversary event. Even the cakes may potentially have the same unstackable bug like last year.

This is unacceptable, considering they specifically announced scaling back the other events to put "more effort" into creating "truly special" events for the Anniversary and Halloween events. I'm done with believing in BHVR's promises.

I think the event will go fine unless they don't fix the unstackable cakes, but the midchapter will be the nail in the coffin of optimization.

Only thing I don't want the anniversary to fail on are the cake offerings and if it happens maybe they'll extend it like last year. As far as mid chapter goes I just want performance issues fixed and then I'm happy.

I don't think DBD will flop. We ######### all over the game all the time for the right reason, yet we keep playing it, we all have different reasons for continuously playing it though.
I'm starting to get bored of DBD at the moment so I'm only playing it to get my dailies done. I will play it on the anniversary event, and maybe take a break of DBD after the mid-chapter if it sucks. I took a break from DBD last year after the mid-chapter released (it was a really good mid-chapter tho, other than woohoo Billy nerf we all asked for that).
I'll probably keep playing but who knows.

yeah, if the anniversary event is a let down/if the stuttering isnt fixed before the event, ill probably not play dbd ever again
the amount of garbage updates + cash grab tendency’s that have been displayed in the past 6 months really makes me dislike this game a lot.

4th Anniversary ones also could only be unlocked on OG characters I'm pretty sure.
