What do you think about Thompson House?
Somehow I feel the house has less play ground around it.
For my PoV, the reasons are:
- No more hiding area: best option for survivors when being there is to run out of the house, because there is no where to hide there. Box rooms replaced with Living room & Bed room, which are completely open place. The Balcony on Upper floor replaced with Roof top which is pretty much "just get out of the house"
- Path: There is a God window with breakable door in Living room, for me as a Trapper main, I never break it but rather putting trap outside the windows. If you compare the path, I can get into the Old house from the left side, then go out on the top right side (balcony), in New house, there is no path to get through the house to the opposite side, because the path is blocked with God window / breakable wall. In general, I travel outside the house from left to right side, never travel through the house.
- Entrances: there were more entrances in the Old house, plus those are small & tight corner which helps survivors to hide, especially you can juke Killer in Box room on Ground floor.
- No more hook on upper floor: if you end up dying in the house, you go for the hook outside.
No place to hide, juke. More place the get out of the house. No hook. Thompson house become a dead space once the Gen on upper floor is completed, nothing else to use.

I hate the breakable walls and I miss the little balcony and the hook. So all in all realms beyond strikes again and makes the map even worse

The breakable walls are horrendous!!!!!!!!! Worst thing to come out of the game yet.

I know that, for me, there should be a 2nd stair on opposite side, and have a hook in an open place (in Bedroom perhaps), because there are so many open place anyway.
I dont have any problems with breakable wall, it helps Trapper instead. But that single breakable wall block path on the other side of the house, I feel half the house is so useless.

Well, I once thought it was a decent map. After the rework I hate all Coldwind maps equally.

I hate playing on it but it's still my favorite coldwind map.

It's pretty bad. I think of it as bubbas house

Most of the maps are very killer sided and only getting worse. They’ve removed windows, pallets, and lots of dead areas are now common place. It’s unfortunate for casual players who just want to have a few hours of fun to see the game being built around streamers and red ranks.

I still haven't seen it.

Same. I've had all the other new corn maps multiple times every time I play the game but not once have I had Thompson House. I figured it was still disabled.

it looks amazing.
gameplay wise i've had it like twice now, so i really cant say much about it - but Trappers new traps are freaking invisible inisde the house now! i learned that the hard way...
per usual, the breakable walls are a bit annoying, that i can say.

I hate it. I hate all the coldwind maps. They look nice but that's it

It looks great, But I wish there was more to do in/around the main building.

I rather like the new Thompson House, even the horrible, disgusting toilet with a fly that comes out of it. I love the attention to detail. I also think it is a fairly even map, neither Killer nor Survivor sided.

I haven't been able to use the house loop once, and have gotten the map a total of 2 times since it was remastered. But it looks too strong, because once again breakable walls create god loops.

I have yet to play that map since the rework. Last I heard it was not in the rotation?

The graphic is great, but the gameplay isnt. You look at the entrances. 2 of them are on North which is the end of the map, leads to no where. West entrance to South one is next to each other, you rather go around the house than run inside them.
There is no reason for you to go inside the house, I feel its really a waste.
Beside, Trap is much more easier to spot in Low graphic, because it doesnt have shadow to dim the traps
If you got chased into the house, mostly you will run upstair and vault the old window that drop to Main door. You dont have any chance to run in from North door to Kitchen - Livingroom to God windows. Because the North door is a death end.

Gameplaywise I don't like it, just like the other Coldwind maps.
However, I do love how detailed the house has become. Before, the main attractions were "box", which is great and all but it was kind of silly to have the house look like someone just moved in and hadn't unpacked anything, and also owned nothing except for small items packed into boxes.
Now, it looks like an actual house, complete with a kitchen, bathroom, bedroom, designated room to show off carcasses, etc.

It's my new favourite farm map, which isn't saying much because it's one of my least favourite maps in the game. But, I at least enjoy the aesthetic.

terrible with breakable walls I don't exactly know how those help me as killer

I like that map a lot, i never used to go to the house while in chase so the changes don't bother me.

You dont even have a chance to actually use God window. Because of the placement of the house. If the house has random rotation, it may have some different play each match, but after having this map 4 times, the Main door always facing South
Its because it offer nothing in chase. Nowhere to hide, its all about running through, except the path to running through the house isnt even convenient

I don't know. Today was my first time at the knew Thompson's House and I play every day...

Not a Fan, they removed the hook on the 2nd floor which I’ve seen players take advantage of. It’s easy to wiggle out of the killers grasp if you go down upstairs on the other side of the widow by the gen.

well, in that regard not a lot changed then.
i feel like thats kind of the point of the house, that you dont really want to be in there unless you want to contest either the gen or the basement.
regarding the traps however, i am playing on low graphics. its just that the beartrap and the houses floor have essentially the same colour, making it extremely hard to spot them in the heat of the moment.

Good visual change but the ways out of the house with the low amount of hooks near the house is pretty infuriating at times.

I love it, i miss the old house but this is ultimately better.
That upstairs hook, almost always seemed like a second basement so i don't miss it.

Its horrible to play at, just like every coldwind map.
At least the house looks nice from inside I guess
0 -
I only got it twice so I couldn't really say anything about it. The chance to get it must be extremely low since I play almost every day. I would like to try it out...

I thought it requires a hook upstair to make some ground play in the house, but it isnt.
Look at Mother Dwelling main building. There are 2 stairs, 1 inside, 1 outside. Its really easy to access both floor of the house. Plus the path is through easily from 1 side to other side of the map (as you can go from north to south through the house). Make the place has a lot of play.
Thompson, there is a single entrance on the top left, that lead to no where but dead zone so you should not go from West to East. The only path is the South to North door, but you dont do that because North is a dead zone. And you never at the North zone go to South because there is nothing at the North to ever be there.

It looks amazing, but that wall and window combination is actually disgusting. When I get it with Killer, it's the first thing that's going. Both walls are the worst I've seen in the game.
