Does anyone else hate playing with/against streamers?

I honestly heavily prefer just playing with randoms. Anytime I play with a TTV survivor and go back later to watch the game, they are super toxic, constantly criticising everyone for no apparent reason.

The killers might be even worse, as they typically are extremely sweaty. I went against Dowsey playing Nurse once, and safe to say it wasn’t a good time, especially since I was playing in solo queue. They just often end up being miserable experiences, which is why I didn’t really feel bad when SBMM made them wait in queues for hours. It’s just not enjoyable at all to go against either competitive level killers, or killers with so much time in the game that they defeat any solo queue team with ease.

TLDR I hate playing with streamers

    My experience against streamers:

Killers: Usually it's any other killer, but once I went up against a pro Huntress (I want to say her name was rayyondrin or something like that) and got unbelievably uberfucked. Like, spent less than 45 seconds upright the entire game type of destroyed.

Survivors: 85% relatively chill/ordinary players, 15% toxic as all hell.

As killer, I enjoy going up against TTVs because I get a reaction cam to whatever I do in the match, and it means I can meme and watch the results on camera. But you do occasionally get the really nasty ones whose idea of content production is to kick as many hornets' nests as possible within a 10 minute window, and they're a chore to deal with. As survivor, I don't know I'm against a TTV until the game's over, so it doesn't really make a difference to me.

Twitchies? Eh for me they're pretty cool most of the time. Guess I'm just lucky. Plus it's fun to watch the vod after the game to see how you played from a different perspective.

I tend to ignore what they are. One of my first runs ins was against a medium level popularity one that slugged and camped everyone with multiple streamers burned and acted all holier than thou cause they had X amount of people viewing them. Gross. Not sure why people enjoy watching someone with thousands of hours slaughter new players and make their match miserable.

It's only annoying playing against them if they're a 4-man SWF.

Alot of the time if I see the killer streaming, I visit their stream and give them a GG and say who I was, sometimes their chat is actually super sweet and even if I died, they compliment things I did good

When I wait til it's over and watch the full game we played, the killer is super nice too ^^

With my fellow survivors it can go either way

Nope, can't say i hate them, don't even dislike them.

Even donated a few bucks to 2-3 of 'em, for saying kind ######### when i looked at their stream afterwards.

But nah, my TTVs are either nothing different from regular randos, or they're the kind kind. 😋

If anyone goes against me while I'm streaming they would never know it because I don't go around advertising my stream in game.

I just hate it when it's a couple and they hold hands the entire match, I've had so many matches with couples that go down at the same time because they want to go together all the time, I had a match against a bubba and 2 streamers went down at the same time and both ended hooked in the basement.

Most of the time its fine they're just another random teammate in the game but sometimes you do meet a complete ring piece.

Had a streamer last night just run around farming our other 2 teammates in front of the killer eventually getting them killed. When he got hooked at the end i went to save but instead of saving i just spam saved him till he died which he didnt enjoy. I died doing it but i feel i got him back for doing over our teammates.

I do find smaller streamers more chiller than bigger ones as they haven't got an ego, yet.

Nah, I like watching my own gameplay from another perspective and streamers that are actually live tend to let me do so after the match is over. Doesn't matter if they're killer or survivor, I just find it very interesting to get a look at what it's like playing against me.

TTV in the name means I know I'm gonna have to find the stealth guy later who's letting his team die and waiting for hatch, I swear every single one.

Used to play against trutalent and angry pug a lot back in the day and it was always chill and fun but the game was much smaller then.

Getting a mad cam after you kill people is a wonderful gift and one you should embrace

I think I like to. Every streamer I have gone up against have been so nice and kind. I go to their stream I say gg it was fun they say it back and I have a small conversation with them and I leave. Maybe I'm just lucky.

Almost every twitchy I've played against has been really chill, and watching the vods and seeing their pov is always interesting to me. There's only been 1 or 2 twitchies that were either salty or toxic during the match so I personally love playing with and against them.

I don't care if it's a TTV. It's pretty much like VSing everyone else. If it's a big steamer, it's a cool opportunity. The one thing I dislike is that a lot of small TTVs have incredibly large egos for some reason and like to call you sweaty when you're actually playing in a chill way, but are playing well regardless.

The first time I played with a TTV I was excited lmao, but when I saw her stream I was disappointed, I was going as hill billy and because,I was console She thought than only for that I was bad even though I killed her, but then I saw a game of her playing with hill billy and she didn't even know how to use it because it was main survivor and she almost didn't know how to use any killer 🤦, her teammates at least said that it was a fun game, nowadays I avoid playing with TTV because they usually go in swf and if I end up playing it I won't watch her stream unless I'm curious about something very particular about the game.

but you can't blame them all there are streamers who will surely take the game in a good way and you will have a good game.

As a killer I usually just grab my strongest add-ons as a killer for them as 90% of the time they are in a 3+ man SWF group.

They also tend to send me to Haddonfield or Spring Wood about 50%-75% of the time anyways so.... Ya... I don't play nice when they do that.

As a survivor I just try to ignore them as they tend to get weird when you acknowledge them.

Plus they tend to send me to Haddonfield or oddly Midwich a lot when I am survivor with them about 50%-75% of the time.

  • Jasix
    Jasix Member Posts: 1,245

Yes because grouping TTVs into a group and stating that they all do a certain thing is a productive and objective thing... oh wait.. no its not.

My experience is that streamers (Both TTV and YT) tend to be less "toxic" and just trying to be fun and entertaining. I do find that I get a lot more non-streamers than streamers who come into my chat who are homophobic and racist - probably because I have end game chat disabled and they wanna show off their SDE to an audience

When I play/stream killer I usually get 2-3 non-streamers who come in and make bigoted statements and very rarely get a fellow streamer who does this. When I play survivor it is usually only 0-1 killers who come in to try and be racist homophobes and I don't think I have ever had a killer streamer come in and be an idiot in my chat. If I had to guess - 95% of my bans in my channel are non-streamers from DBD, a few (2-3) are streamers, and the other 4.75% are bots.

But please continue with your broad generalizations regarding a small group of individuals - it's very enlightening.

I mean, did you read the vast majority of respondents to this thread who have stated that the majority of streamers are usually pretty chill? Just cause the OP is being judgmental it feels like you're castigating everyone.

From my own experience every TTV I have ever gone against (play killer almost exclusively so never against a TTV killer) has been chill until this evening actually. Vast majority of the time, and especially when I'm chilling at R1 waiting on rank reset, I just get everyone to death hook and then let people finish generators and leave, I explain after it's more BP for everyone and there's really no benefit to ruthless or merciless at R1. Most streamers are very appreciative and I often watch the replays, follow, let them know who I was, and wish them GL in the fog. Had one tonight who ruined that streak but it is what it is.

TL:DR Streamers are people, you'll find some douchenozzles but most are good peeps.

I was playing against Tru3 yesterday. You can all imagine what he said after 3 of us solos escaped.

It's quite common actually to play with/against streamers. Had 3 days where I would play with or against Otz at least once.

Tbh every streamer I play with/against is either not streaming at the time or they're a vtuber, so... 😬

  • Apollos
    Apollos Member Posts: 1,052

Yeah lmao Sometimes I'm curious to see what they're doing during the match too. Not to cheat or snipe, but just genuinely curious what they're talking about. But like I said, when they are live it's usually some vtuber talking about their LDR and it hurts to listen to.

I usually like playing against streamers because I can, after the match is over, see it from their pespective. Many of them are chill, I want to believe it's most of them, but I don't keep track of it. However, I've also seen a lot of toxicity from streamers. Specially from the ones who play with 4-man SWF. If a streamer is in the lobby with a flashlight, I usually think "This is going to be a flashlight clicker, right?". And yeah, most of the time I'm right.

By watching matches in their perspective, I've seen some who are really entitled and start boasting and mocking after a single play that works well for them... and then complain about either you or the game when they get caught. Not to mention the ones that trashtalk and insult the killer and/or other survivors (I've faced one of this on my last match. Apparently I had 'tunneled' him, even though I chased and hooked other survivors before hooking him the second and third times), the ones that think you are "stream snipping" for no reason, and the ones who in the end report you for no reason as well.

But again, I have also seen many, many chill ones, and I believe those were the majority so far, I just don't keep track of it. I would say that, if there's a lot of toxicity from streamers, doesn't mean streamers are toxic, it means that many DbD players are toxic and that ends up including streamers as well.

Sometimes I'm not in the mood to be watched so I'll dodge, but my interactions with streamers are usually positive. Also it's fun to watch people react to the weird stuff I run afterwards, i.e.

I stuck around afterwards for a bit, nice people although they thought I was a baby :'(

Never grouped them together whatsoever. I merely stated that I have largely had bad experiences with streamers, and wondered if others also did, and quite a number of people have.

Seems like you’re projecting and making a big deal out of nothing, when it’s our personal experiences.

I ran into a streamer, chillest guy around, he was in a swf, but he was super nice and complimenting me. (Even though I got demolished) Guy told me I just had an unlucky tile spawn on Lery's, I've been watching his stream since and he's just a really chill dude.

So.. personally I don't mind running into streamers, because sometimes you'll strike gold and find actually decent people who just like to play the game and treat it as a game

Sweaty person experience to me mostly and almost all I've found had been rus/northern eu streamers so I couldn't really join into their streams. The few English speaking streamers I found happened to be really nice mostly. There was this Spanish streamer having Rin's sexual fanart on his steam profile playing spirit with stretch res and a stream title like "it's tunneling day".

TTV's mirror the playerbase variety in an exagerated way, like if they're mirror nice people they're usually extremely nice, if they're degens they're like that spanish streamer, if they're sweaty they're overly sweaty and tryhard.

Actually you said anytime you play with "a TTV"... not some.. or a majority.. your wording was absolute. So yes you did group TTVs together - sounds more like you need to say what you mean and mean what you say instead of backtracking.

I mean your summary even says: I hate playing with streamers.

Not some - or most... just streamers. Maybe choose your words more wisely in the future to convey your actual thoughts.

I don't usually, however one time a streamer (I think he also had a pretty good sized following) had 2 kills with 4 gens left as slow down Freddy. He hadn't chased me all game, and I saw no point in trying to get 4 gens done so I just messed about and tried to get a Head On stun on him.

I missed (because nothing seems to work in this game) to which he went off and started saying how bad I was in stream which upset me quite a bit when I went to watch his POV.

I haven't ever checked their streams, and I'm too low rank to be with the big streamers. But my experience has been only having fellow survivors with TTV in their name. Sometimes they're the best on the team, and help me get through matches like you'd expect. One time I had one who immediately dc'd at the start of the match, without the killer ever even finding him. Like we'd just loaded in. That's more what I expect at my rank, bc if you're TTV at like rank 16 on survivor...you're prolly a different breed, we'll put it that way. I expect you to be more 'toxic' than red rank, tbh.

I once played with tru3ta1ent and it was a pretty normal match with the sole difference that he was doing a perk challenge of sorts. But yeah, solid game, 3 gens done before we all got slugged and sacrificed by some Oni.

The only time i ever hate streamers is when they're being toxic

one guy I had was hiding in a corner, not doing gens, spamming the rescue animation whenever he went to unhook and just spent half the match making monkey noises, needless to say, no way in hell was he ever getting out of that match alive

I'm not angry - I just think you need to learn to better communicate your thoughts. I know what my experience is with streamers and non-streamers in this game and is vastly different than yours. Anyways - glhf.

As a TTV myself, even I hate going against other TTVs ( a lot of the time, but not all of the time). I've had some that I've gone against who talk garbage about me or my gameplay afterwards when I was just playing to have fun. There are TTVs I have met though that aren't the worst. Going against a TTV killer doesn't bother me, because they normally just move on after the game.

I more or so have an issue when playing killer, but I've noticed that even a lot of people that have TTV in their name don't have accounts (I usually try to stop by and give some love/ggs after every game if they are live).

My boyfriend is also a twitch streamer, but he doesn't have TTV in his name, and he just full on admitted that he's toxic.

I try to help TTVs not seem all bad. I've had rough games but I usually still try to be a kind and supportive individual
