A small request concerning confirming existing characters as lgbtq+

PLEASE, devs, in the name of all that's holy and unholy, DON'T have Clown, of all characters, be the first character you declare to be queer.

It's bad enough he's on your pride month banner.

Now, why is this a bad thing:

The devs would confirm a character who ticks off about ALL queerphobic fearmongering tropes as lgbtq+ instead of any other given character.

You can have despicable bastards be queer, but you should NOT start out with one when you confirm existing characters as lgbtq+

Start with Plague, Deathslinger or Wraith on killer side, but NOT clown.

Please.

a good start would be some kind of Legion lore or something.

Just curious, because I don’t real remember many details of the lore.

how is Clown queerphobic? Or how does he tick of which tropes?

Pretty sure they aren't going to make any of their already existing characters gay in any form.

That would be an announcement that wouldn't satisfy anybody. Previously they stated they want to make a character like that the right way. Instead of just arbitrarily changing characters for the sake of representation.

Seems kind of weird that killers would have any sexuality, I thought they were like the humans transcended to demonlike souls somewhat what Jason becomes in Friday 13th, you don't look at Jason and wonder who he's banging on the weekends.

Survivors makes a lot of sense though.

    You kinda missed me? 🥺

no but really. On point. But the mods usually give a few warnings/reminders to not derail the thread. Which everyone kinda ignores?

Nurse, Oni and Legion (Frank and Julie) have at least part of their sexually confirmed. With Wraith also getting some hints.

it may make sense lore-wise for SOME killers. Definitely not all though.

It wouldn't be considered changing current characters since there isn't any sexuality confirmed.

I hate posts like this. What is the point? What do you hope to accomplish?

Obviously at least one person cares - someone made a discussion about that topic.

Obviously multiple others care as they've viewed and commented on that discussion.

Obviously you care enough to comment. If you truly didnt care you wouldnt have bothered to come in here.

If you wanted to say you do not care about the subject - by all means say that. Dont belittle others because they do care. And if youre intention is to try and belittle others for caring I have to wonder what your life is like that you feel the need to do this.

    Felix, Oni, Legion.

Possibly more depending on if I'm too lazy to read more lore.

It’s pretty clear that clown just likes the power trip he gets from his victims and judging by his certain add on he’s probably straight

Only thing missed is - Edgy comments will be deleted and randoms will come in saying "no one has said anything edgy, why are you overreacting"

I get why you wouldn't want clown as an LGBTQ+ rep, because he fits a ton of the oldest and most grotesque stereotypes (flamboyant performer, sexual predator, something unclean masquerading as something safe and child-friendly), but... at the same time, I can't imagine why you think they'd choose Clown for that. There is absolutely nothing about the Clown that speaks of a personal identity/self-discovery journey to anything other than being a serial murderer. They've confirmed they're going to release an LGBTQ+ character in the future, and while they might reveal existing characters to be LGBTQ+ in tome lore, I just cannot see Clown being a candidate. Like I guess Clown might have experimented with his own sexuality specifically because he seems to be the kind of hedonist that wants to try everything at least once, but the context is so ew and I hate that you've caused me to think about the Clown's escapades.

He's on the pride month banner because someone drew him on the pride month banner. That's fan art.

In any case, I'm personally predicting that if they start confirming characters as LGBTQ+, they'd start with survivors (or Susie or Joey.) That's mostly from a narrative perspective; part because "these people good" and "these people bad", part because the killers' stories usually revolve around their descent into madness. There's room for identity to play a part in that, but not quite as much as there is on the other side; the survivors' stories tend to be about a hardship or defining journey they underwent that shaped them as a person. Meanwhile Susie and Joey are blank slates that kind of got rolled up with the rest of the Legion, so that part of their story was already told, but something that defines either of them as a person (and possibly why they felt so alienated by Ormond/so fiercely loyal to their friends) would be greatly welcome.

As we have stated, we are working with GaymerX so that when a character is introduced or confirmed to be LGBTIA+ it will be done correctly and sensitively. Until there is anything confirmed by us, anything is pure speculation.
