If a survivor runs in the opposite direction of the killer and holds shift + w and takes the 2 hits. Doesn't drop any pallets, vaults no windows, doesn't try to do anything other than hold shift + w. It takes the killer 48 seconds to down them. Now factor in picking them up, finding a hook and hooking them, and you just lost 3 gens.

I want this game to more about winning the mindgames at loops, rather than just running in a line and immediately dropping every pallet. It makes the game boring to play on both sides.

A large part of killer gameplay is a walking sim where he just walks from one gen to the next. Chases are supposed to be the interactive part, but all the time spent trying to catch up to a survivor isn't interactive, for most killers it's a long trek where he tries to close the distance and maybe he can cut the survivor off with a shorter route. Skill has little to no impact, it's just a matter of 115% (or for me often 105% as I play my beloved add-on-less tier 1 Myers) vs 100% movement speed.

I'm not mad while I do that, but I am bored, and there are a large number of matches where I never bother to chase some survivors because they're always so far away that it feels pointless before I even begin.

As a survivor against new Nurses, those matches feel so ridiculous because she never catches up: my chase points are practically empty. That's not good, that sort of gameplay shouldn't be the norm in any situation, but due to the game's design it can be the optimal play.

Well, killers had to learn the flashligh lesson the hard way. So those flashlights aren´t as effictive against veterans who always expect a flashlight.

But since the game gets balanced around new players...

Once again you miss the point...

Holding W is a strategy that is highly efficient where, depending the killer, you waste more of killers time (allowing your team to slam these bad boys called gens) by just running in straight lines with just minimal looping or pallet predrop

Considering this and the fact that if you leave a gen at, say 50 or 60% and run on the other side of the map, even just running, no looping, he will waste so much time to catch on you, down you, hook you, and then gotta walk back at the gen, it gives way more time then nececery for another survivor to finish it

While looping killers and survivors interact in "reflex/mind games" which can be fun for both sides

While "holding W" to just waste the killer time it isnt fun for anyside and the only thing the killer can do to catch up faster....is stack up Bloodlust

(And yeah after some tests you can easily waste somewhere between 40-70 seconds from the killer while just holding W, no loop, pallet or windows)

In the end the killers complain that the survivors play more "efficiently" while having minimal counterplay to this and wasting a lot of time, forcing them to sweat more then before (ans it doesnt help that they are almost forced to equip regretion perks)

I'm the sap that burned the streamers I'd been saving up on a bubba match that ended in 2 minutes flat 😭

It’s just killers complaining tbh, and I’m a killer main.

Killer role: Pressure gens, chase survivors, mind game tiles where applicable, peel off from lengthy chases.

Survivors: Repair gens, loop the killer and waste as much of his time as possible.

”Hold W” is just a complaint from killers IMO about how easy the Survivor role is.

if killers are silly enough to chase a survivor to the corner of the map you’re falling for the bait. No difference from having tunnel vision and watching gens fly by as you eat 10 pallets because of *Clicky clicky*

So you want me to just use up all the nearby resources instead? Want me to also walk into your mouth?

No reasonable person is upset at survivors for using their tools. It’s an issue that BHVR needs to look at and balance accordingly.

    This 100%

Created the game not imagining looping, and have done a pretty bad job adjusting it with band aid fixes like bloodlust and gutting areas.

Pretty sure killer is more than just W

Survivors can literally just hold W/Forward and its almost always the best decision on any large map.

I only play Survivor and it's telling when the most effective strategy is just running away to get the Killer to go somewhere else, instead of trying to play the pallets.

Hi, yeah, I made an account just to comment this.

A lot of you are getting the point in that "killers shouldn't chase into deadzones or for very long!". But what you are failing to see is that in a match you will often have 2-4 survivors who do just that. So now you've broken off one long chase into a deadzone to go chase another survivor who just books it into a deadzone. So what do you do? You break chase to find a different survivor who then books it into a deadzone. What is the killer supposed to do then? They are an anti-looping killer with no mobility... but the survivors refuse to loop. The killers complain because it is unfun, the survivors complain because it is unfun, the killers start tunneling and camping because if survivors want to play in these unfun ways just to win why can't they? Then both sides complain that the other is being toxic, unfun, whining, or some other thing.

"Well they got rid of all the loops!" Yeah, because it was oppressive. Tier lists were based entirely on how good a killer was at beating survivors in loops.

How to fix this? I don't know. The game is fundamentally flawed and I genuinely have no idea asides from fix the maps and that's all I can really say cause I'm not that smart.

I do love browsing these forums though, you guys are hilarious.

What a tough read this was. OP mentioned most killer just hold W and don't mind game. If you play killers that don't mind game you should be escaping easily. I have a survivor friend who was convinced I don't mind game. So I let him watch clips from my POV and let him see that I was mind fuking him without him even knowing it. Ring-around-the-rosie is time consuming and I personally will attempt to one mindgame/mindfuk and then end the loop. Not every killer is going to do the back and forth, you go left me right style. Knowing which spots are best to mind game is key and which ones will chew too much time even if hitting. Holding W for hits as killer means blood lust and that means you did your job survivor hope the others where on a gen that whole time.

I don’t understand what’s so bad about holding W. That means the survivor is getting off the gen early to get a head start which isn’t very productive.

Also with unsafe loops and less pallets becoming the norm running in a straight line is the best option for wasting the killers time.

Dont mind those killer mains. everything is toxic for them. walking is toxic, holding m1 is toxic, existing toxic...

Excuse me, I play on console so I push L1 as well, and lag and freeze constantly! But in all seriousness, why shouldn't I play as aggressively as I want? I've been playing this game for years, I'm not scared of it. It's fun to be in chases and make saves. God knows 99% of my teammates are too terrified to do anything.
