How do you think Capcom feels about this update?

How do you all think Capcom feels about this chapter and entire update? I doubt they are anywhere near happy since it kinda makes Capcom look like Crapcom and Resident Evil look like Resident #########. I wonder how they feel with all the backlash on their characters and DBD overall on their chapter release. Believe it or not Capcom at least cares about what people think about their license and what fans have to say. If people hate this update then its obvious they are most likely upset. And with the chapter itself not having any meaningful content, poorly potrayed content, or not any unique content I bet they don't feel happy about that either.

They have their money but BHVR's handling of their IP must be embarrassing for them.

Pretty sure a majority of the player base is pleased with the resident evil chapter in itself.

Their Intellectual property that carved it's place in gaming history on console is now officially tied to a game that is broken and currently at the standard of something they would never put their name/brand/IP to.

How many play RE has know every single little detail about characters though?

At most I would say that they’re slightly annoyed. Hard to be mad when you’re making so much money though.

Other things Capcom made a ton more money than this and they don't seem proud of what they made. Like RE6. Money isn't everything to them.

Pretty sure it’s not that bad - especially content-wise.

the killer did bring something unique - AI based killer power with the zombies. The survivors are pretty well received and really the only universally bad feedback here are the linked cosmetics (which Capcom HAD to approve like that) and Claires Face/eyes (either buggy or approved as well). The perks are fun and interesting while not OP.

technical issues like performance or map problems is not really something directly related to Capcom and it’s also nothing that was totally unexpected so I guess -while not happy with it- Capcom still sees that it is fixable..

pretty much, if they were pissed they would've pulled the license or something similar

The killers power is unique in a bad way. Nothing is interesting. That's how you make a bad/unfun killer power by making half of it out of your control. Reminds me of Legion although still A bit better. Is it unique? Yes. Is it good or faithful like it should be? Nowhere near it. The zombies don't do much. They took away the potential for something much better like adding the real feeling of playing Nemesis in DBD.

I don't think it's Capcom's fault the game is broken on console right now.

If people hate this update then its obvious they are most likely upset.

The chapter has a 'Very Positive' rating on Steam. Every lobby is full of Jills, Leons (and Claires and Chrises). Nemesis is pretty common (certainly a lot moreso than Twins or Trickster in the weeks after their release).

I don't know why you think this chapter was poorly received. It wasn't.

Believe it or not Capcom at least cares about what people think about their license and what fans have to say

RE3 remake and the two multiplayer RE cash grabs would suggest otherwise. They will milk this franchise for every penny.

What? I don't think anyone said that. The post is about how do you think they feel about DBD and Behaviour for handling their chapter and the entire update around it so poorly.

Capcom should probably be more concerned with the hilariously bad localisations of their own games.

expecting the real complete Nemesis was setting yourself up for disappointment. It was obvious the power would be ‚translated‘ to fit DbD.

And it’s also not final. They especially reconfirmed in the anniversary they will closely monitor performance and such with their newly released killers and will make changes if needed.

Capcom has seen how Nemesis plays and they have certainly approved of this, including animations etc. There is no way they were surprised with the final product when it hit PTB release.

I said hate this UPDATE. Didn't say chapter. Wording means a lot person. And also RE3 and REsistance are both very good games so I don't get how they are cash grabs. And I can bring out a bunch of examples on how they care about what the fans think. 1. If they didn't care RE7 would have been another RE6 because that game made a ######### ton of money. 2. RE2 Remake probably wouldn't exist right now but they listened because people wanted it. 3. RE4 Remake would probably not have switched developers if not for the backlash of RE3R. 4. Village didn't have any planned DLC until people asked for it. Now we are getting it. There is so much more. They definitely care about what people think as well as the money.

I wasn't setting myself up for disappointment. They just ######### him up. People misunderstand what I was asking for all the time. I was never asking for rocket launcher to be shoved in survivors face or something like that. My expectations were realistic. You CAN make Nemesis faithful even without the weapons. The thing they needed to do was focus on what makes Nemesis feel like Nemesis but its clear they didn't. This is what they did. They focused on bringing the feeling of RESIDENT EVIL as a whole with the zombies. That's the big problem. They aren't the same game. What they SHOULD always do and focus on is bringing in the spirit of the characters they chose to be in the game but they went the complete opposite. Where is the running? The speed? The lethality? He has... A short tentacle and a zombie? His tentacles reach way further and he isn't a slow sack of ######### like he's portrayed in DBD. They could easily dead by daylightify his speed and lehtality. They could have swapped him out with MANY other RE killers because they only gave him a tentacle. This one is by far the worst version of him. He is even more feeling like Nemesis in RE Verse and hell even in Marvel VS Capcom. How!?

People thinking it's all about money and profit clearly have very little idea how licensing works, especially with capcom.

If anything they are mad at the update.

NOT the chapter. The chapter was good and it was reviewed by them in order to push it to live servers.

Plus it gave them a ######### ton of money.I only see Jills, Leons and sometimes Claires. When the silent hill legendarys were released i only saw like 1 Lisa skin in the span of 5 months.I have seen like 10 RE legendarys in the span of only 1 week.

The Resident Evil DLC became a best selling game on steam weekly charts. The chapter has good reviews.

The update was a flop. The chapter was definitely not.

I think that's also because RE6 was absurdly expensive to make.

They made a laughing stock out of him, just like Leatherface, Myers, Freddy, Ghostface, etc. It's perfect, in a wrong, twisted way.

I know you said you didn't, but you most definitely set yourself up for disappointment. Your expectations were way too high considering what they've done with other licensed killers.

You realize this is Capcoms character and they approved of this version portraying Nemesis, right?

i really hope you mean Capcom and BHVR when you are using the word ‚they‘ here.

They probably won't be working with BHVR again. They've absolutely butchered this chapter launch, and it's the most important one!

I think that they closly monitored the development of Nemesis, his powers, his aestetics and everything about them. Same for Leon, Clair, Chris, Jill, the map and even the badge charm. Everything that is their property is monitored and not released without them confirming it. As such they are not disappointed with this. I do not think that BHVR could have released anything that was not checked multiple times by capcom. Same for every other franchise by the way.

As such they will be mostly please with the results. Steam charts and players (Jills, Leons and Nemesis in you lobbies) tell the whole story. The chapter itself was a success.

Now about the performance. I think that they will be interested in this but to a lesser degree. Capcom will adress this as they do not want a taint on their product. However you now need to consider that they released worse products and know that crashes, performance issues and so on happens. Especialy with the whole crossplatform thing a service that not many games provide to this degree. Please note that BHVR offers the game on many platforms and there are few games who are that widely spread.

From a corporate standpoint, they probably don't care at all; since they're still making money.

From a moral standpoint, though? I'd wager they're absolutely pissed at Behavior for mucking up their product and making it next to unplayable for their fans.
