So Hey, Now That It's Been Out For A Long Time: What's Your Take On Coup De Grâce?
Title, got nothing else to add except that i might consider this for Wraith super-DUPER-lunges.

Needs a buff or a rework. I liked the idea of it INCREASING the speed of your Lunge by 60% instead of the current version that it’s in.
Almost like the killer version of Dead Hard.

I have literally never used it 😂

Also something just as memey as the Wraith lunge is the Spirit + katana add-ons.

It shouldn't have been nerfed, it was fine the way it was.

horrible Perk.
super hard to earn tokens that are incredibly easy to accidentally waste. The effect used to be good, but them essentially cutting the distance in half took the only good thing away the Perk had.
and due to the stacks being so easily lost, the perk encourages you to play much less optimal and go for normal attacks (not lunge attacks) a lot, meaning that, in the worst case, the Perk singlehandedly cost you a chase that you could have won had you just lunged normally. and if you did, you wasted one of your precious tokens, making the Perk useless again.
basically, its downsides heavily overshadow its upside to the point where the Perk almost works against you.

A mediocre effect that only turns on 5 times throughout the entire match. And if you don't go for a quick attack, you waste one of those 5 times even if you didn't actually get any value out of the Perk.

I've never used it, but I wanted to use it on Myers during T3 just for the sake of being ridiculous.
I prefer perks that reward you for winning as opposed to giving you a leg up when you're losing though.

I love it!
I use it on Trapper and people don't expect it ^^

It sucks. Incredibly not worth a perk slot.

It's pretty fun, and catches survivors off guard when you use it. It could use a buff though, as it's pretty underwhelming.

I don't have much time left now. I've lost everything I hold dear to me. I still remember the day it happened. I remember my family, my friends, my lover; now all long gone. I'm all alone.
The city was overrun in days. If I only I had seen the signs sooner. Perhaps then, I could have saved them. Ah, then came the silence. Oh, the dreaded silence. There was nothing, no people, no animals, only them and me left. I don't know why I bothered going on for as long as I did.
Yet, through all that time, there was one question which was always left unanswered. No matter how much I searched, no matter where I looked, I could never find the answer. Now, as I lay here on my deathbed; ready to accept my fate, I find myself asking this damned question one last time. Why did the developers of Dead by Daylight nerf Coup De Grace? I guess what remains of the world will never know.

Fun, yet underwhelming.

garbage perk, need a rework for how you get tokens/removal of token system. the perk would legit be better as hex perk than what it currently is.

Should have a "push button to activate" function, like Dead Hard. It's mind-boggling that it doesn't.
0 -
It's the killers Dead Hard but way too limited to ever truly show thoughtless survivor mains what it's like to be outperked in every chase.

It would be perfect perk but tokens winning only when you lose generators. So i do not think this perks worth it. I used on Freddy and it was amazing on him. But i bored and now it is in my perks garbage.

Hmm, well the general consensus at least seems to be that it ranges from normal to awful in producing good results.
About half seems to enjoy it though.
Mmmmmmmmmmmmm i think i'll skip it for now, but i couldn't say that without your comments, so thanks for sharing!
Also what @agonizing said, that was pretty much my first thought when it came out, and it still is. 😅

It's fun, but shouldn't have been nerfed. It's also way too easy to waste tokens, maybe adding a button prompt at the end of a normal lunge to activate a token would be good.

This perk is free down on any killer this should be nerf asap.
In all seriousness i think this perk is weak and need some kind of buff but i like the effect

The least they could do is make it so tokens are only consumed upon a successful hit.

It's a weak perk, But it can be fun to use at times.

My personal take is that it’s stronger than what is given credit for.
- strong counter to dead hard.
- Pretty much guaranteed to end a chase if being sensible about when to lunge.
It could still do with some extremely minor buffs, but I do now understand why it’s use is very limited because of how strong it can actually be. Plenty of times I’ve caught out someone DH’ing for distance to a pallet or vault, but nope, I still get the hit in in time, even if it means trading a hit for a pallet stun.

This would be good, but there would need to be a little more drawback. Someone with Unrelenting could just lunge spam till they get the hit.

If you use it correctly I believe it's super underrated.
A killer like Legion who struggles to down survivors I think this perk would be great on them. He can injure everyone with his power easily, then use coup de grace to get downs.
In a game where getting downs as quick as possible is important, I think a skilled player can get clutch downs with it. I'd like a skilled Legion main to try it someday and see if it helps.

perk is not that good on most killers. It's pretty weak. It should be similar to an exhaustion perk a 40 second cooldown, not be based on tokens by gens.
0 -
I think when they nerfed it they should've given it a speed boost.
0 -
its trash. cant change my mind. they shouldve make it 100% again
0 -
Never used it and never will. That's my take on this perk

Coup de Grace is just poor perks that often causes more harm than good.
Problems: Saving tokens requires you to do quick attacks, not lunge attacks, meaning any hit you would get with a lunge won't be a hit unless you waste a token.Rework / OverhaulCoup de Grace
You like giving false hope to those who wronged you.
Gain tokens when doing the following:
- 1 Token: Hooking an unique survivor
- 2 Tokens: 6 Total Hooks
- 2 Tokens: 8 Total Hooks
When you have a token available and the survivor is outside of your lunge range, your lunge gains the following bonuses while a token is consumed:
- 30%/40%/50% Lunge Duration
- 30%/40%/50% Lunge Speed
Can no longer gain tokens once a survivor is either killed or sacrificed.
This pretty much makes Coup de Grace a decent perk. It doesn't solve everything, but it's way better than its previous iteration.
