A question for Ps4-player/former Ps4-player

How do you plan to continue playing DbD?

Will you stay on Ps4 for a long time, do you want to switch to a Ps5 or to another console/PC? Would you switch only with crossprogression?

To the former ps4-player: What are you playing now? Are you happy with your decision? Which problems occurred?

I want to play on PC in the future (2022), but only with crossprogression.

Tough call. We have 2 PS4s and also have DBD on PC. The problem is that my wife and I both work at our desks all day and don't really want to sit at our desks to play any games. So we'd prefer to play from the couch, hence the playstations.

Honestly, most of us have seen this before. Game makers pay lip service to the 'old' consoles while actually focusing on the new consoles. They continue to SAY they are optimizing or whatever, but they just do things to make the 'next gen' consoles look prettier and shrug and try to look confused when it comes to performance on the old consoles. Tale as old as time.

So yeah, I've been looking at other games. We've been playing games together for almost 10 years on multiple platforms, we won't have trouble finding fun somewhere else.

If it is playable I will play it on Ps4. I have plenty of other games to play otherwise, though it does suck cause DBD was the game I played the most. I will not play on another platform without cross progression

PS4 and have far to much invested in my account to start over again on PC, not that i really want to anyway.

Will upgrade to PS5 but theyre still like golddust around my area so i'll just wait till theyre easier to get.

So PS4 it is right now unfortunately.

Does your progression carry over if you go from ps4 to ps5? I am console only, myself. No reason to go PC, especially in a game with cross-play. But I wouldn't upgrade to ps5 if I had to start over.

I stopped playing PS4 DBD in November when the PS5 launched and everything has been so much better. There’s been little to no performance issues. Had I not upgraded, I probably would have quit DBD with how badly the recent updates have screwed up last gen consoles.

Your progress carried over but you have to do all your trophies again. Yes, even Adept Nurse.

I am not buying ps5 or new pc anytime soon (I think). If the game stays the same, I will just play something else or watch others play dbd until I switch over.

Stopped playing BDB since few days already, it is impossible in the current state.

Might restart once the game gets fixed or when I switch to ps5.

Of course it is out of my mind to buy again chapters and stuff if the game is in this condition.

The instant cross progression is activated, I'd be on PC, downloading the game on steam. However, since it seems unlikely to ever happen, I'll be stuck on PS4. I'm not going to switch and lose 3+ years of progress, and I'm not getting a new console, as I don't see the value in them vs PC anymore. (exclusives were about it, but now most games are multi-platform)

I play on next gen already and dont have problems with Dead by Daylight.

I still would swap to PC IF there was cross progession.

Even if the PS5 looks awesome and if now DBD on ps4 is fully lagged, i dont have 500€ to waste now on such thing . So no thanks, ill keep playing DBD on PS4 until the day this game will be totally unplayable on it ( which is close I guess )

I already find it unplayable when the game freezes during a chase and I see myself on the ground when it resumes.

Can't imagine how playing killer feels like.

I've been trying to find a ps5 for the past few weeks without luck. I didn't feel I needed one until DBD reminded me i so do. I'm also playing cyberpunk on ps4 pro and it's fine.. but i can't help but wonder what I'm missing.

Can't imagine how playing killer feels like.

    It's so much worse.

Not only do i have to deal with frequent FPS drops/screen freezes.

No,now my FPS in general are lower than before,it feels really choppy.

I even played a bit of Overwatch to test if my console is at fault, but nope,Overwatch works perfectly.

    It's beyond frustrating

I'm not getting a PS5 anytime soon. My PS4, aside from DBD, runs the games I play fine so there's no reason to rush out and spend $500+ on new console.

I'll probably keep playing DBD until I get a PS5, once I upgrade though I won't install DBD on the new system. They'd have to finally optimize the game for console for me to even consider continuing to play it on a PS5.

I'd love to switch to PS5, I just don't have the time to hunt one down.

If they enabled cross-progression though, I'd seriously consider moving to PC. I don't have a gaming PC right now, but I've thought about building one. Cross-progression for the games I play would probably push me over the edge.

Switched to PS5 as soon as it was available and never looked back.

Well, I had to use my PS4 again for one day, and it was torture. Not only are the graphics and framerate noticeably worse, but the PS4 tries to launch itself into orbit when playing DBD, while the PS5 doesn't even break a sweat.

It works fine on PS5. Only issues I have are, as always, joystick deadzones for ranged killers.

I don't see any reason not to download it when you get a PS5, you won't have to pay anything, you already own the game on PSN and everything carries over.
