Just being nice
Are there other killers who's willing to farm with the survivors? I managed to play killer recently and I'm getting ques rather fast (sweet)
Not only that, but I've just... had a urge. Not to play the game normally, but.. just to help players relieve the grind a bit. Anytime I get into a que, I always prepare to ask a random survivor if they'd like to grind. I read horror stories about survivors just getting grinded and killed only getting 10k or the likes, so I wanted to help survivors get the most possible. If you see a Hillbilly with a Hawaiian shirt, grease splattered pants, and a scorching barbacue hammer,
don't be afraid, come say hi!

I have been trying to help survivors farm and hit pallets to get their attention and they all just gen rush me leaving me with 5k BP. I am trying to be a nice killer and so far all i got for my troubles was tbagging and low BP.

that sucks the people I'm farming with are nice. Hope you get kinder people

Might take a little while for survivors to catch on. They're used to the common sweat fest many killers like to do and aren't used to farming bps.

I've had it happen to me, I just shrug and move on. Sometimes I purposely down a survivor like a normal chase, then I just smack the gen while I hold them. They catch on instantly haha

Survivors gonna survive. All you can do to stop it is murder them relentlessly!

I'm letting all survivors go, only hooking if they point at the hook. If they want to farm cool, if not oh well. It's up to them how they want the match to go.
There are unfortunately alot of killers that are making survivors think they want to farm only to kill them all quickly. Survivors now are rushing to get out so they can get their crown. It's a bummer.

I've been having some nice games today, going backwards through the roster of killers. A few killers that I'm really bad at, I just went straight to farming and brought weird hex builds for survivors to dismantle (also Iron Maiden for the sole reason that survivors seem to find it hilarious - when they realize it's there, a chorus of yells echoes across the map like a bizarre game of Marco Polo.) Others, I played normally and then left survivors on the ground if I downed them on death hook, plus I tried to switch targets and not keep downing the same people if I could avoid it. Been getting a lot of nods and item gifts at the gates, which feels good. I hope I helped someone who was having a rough time get a crown.
Another thing I've been considering is to offer to farm if there's 4-5 cakes, and if there's less, play normally and turn friendly at the end?

I let these survivors get the crowns cause it was a swf all with name variations of "crowns please", they didnt let me get anything, just left. Not in a farming mood after that.

I played Piggie -- the killer most likely to meme (and in theory, farm) -- to start tonight (after 4 hours of survivor play with literally zero farming killers, no matter how many cakes in the lobby).
I brought BPS (no cakes on her at that point) and saw my first lobby, who I assumed afterwards to be a 4-person SWF, bring 4 cakes with them. If there was any opportunity to farm, that should have been it, no?
I approached the survivors (who were grouped up, as they had burned a shroud to have everyone spawn together) crouched and oinking, not committing to a regular chase and seeing if non-aggression to start would signal a willingness to farm what would have been a huge BP round for everyone. Three of the survivors looked to be playing it normally, so I committed to a regular match at that point. The 4th survivor, however -- A Laurie -- decided that taunting me and teabagging me from the start was the way to go.
Sigh. 🤦♂️
Needless to say, things went poorly for the Laurie. I ended up with a 3K, and the Dwight (a rank 1 who was clearly the best of the group, and who played "respectfully" the entire match), I ended up giving the hatch to after he approached me to boop at the end. Everyone left BP on the table (no one more so than the Laurie, who I neither tunnelled nor camped, but who was the first survivor dead and got by far the fewest BP of the group), but I completely understand if players don't want to farm, even if I'm willing to be nice. But the idea that someone wants to purposefully antagonize a killer who would have been harmless, and do so with that many BP riding on the match was simply mind-boggling to me.

Went against a sweaty Nurse and a slugging Hag. (no, not slugging to be nice)
Also went against a Demo and Wraith who let everyone escape but didn't do anything either. Which I mean kind of wastes the cakes if everyone just gets gen time.
So I seem to be getting the 2 extremes. I kind of wish people would just throw bones to the other side and play more relaxed. But nah, the events always showcases why the community deserves the bug infested patches they get. :P

The last event, I would make sure to never kill anyone as Killer. I'd beat 'em around a bit, hook them a few times, but when they were down to their death hook i'd make it known I was friendly and leave them be from there.
Looks to be the same this event.

I farm if they want to farm. But they have to signal it first. I will, however, usually let people go if they have crowns. If I don't, it's because I forgot how many times i hooked them. I even let them go if they have their anniversary items, cause I don't want them to lose them. I'm a big softie. Way too soft to be a killer, I guess. But as long as I get some BP I'm happy.

I've been farming my crowns on each killer. Also testing them a little but hardly trying to hit anyone unless they want me to.
