When it comes to new characters introduced into the game do you enjoy seeing licensed or original characters more?

Personally, for me I like seeing the original characters. I know the last 2 original characters have been... subpar, but I think there are plenty of original characters out there for me to say that I'm not going to let 2 characters destroy what I think of the group as a whole. Don't get me wrong, I love licensed characters, I just love seeing what BHVR can come up with. Even when powers are recycled they generally make them different enough that I don't REALLY care that they recycle types of powers.

I think I also like the originals because it's more fun to guess those for me or at least guess a theme for them. The licenses, with how BHVR does things there's only so many licenses out there to guess. Also, generally even if we know the license before the characters, it's really easy to guess what the characters and map are going to be (if there is a map). So it's like, yes I love the licenses, but they're really predictable and only so much they can do with licensed powers.

    I am basically licensed only because, well, most original killers I am interested in are locked behind in-game currency. The only starter killers I like are Hag and Huntress. But if I were to spend real money, you bet it is on the killers you can't grind for.


    I downloaded the game BECAUSE I am a huge horror fanatic. The opportunity to play iconic legends is something I have only been able to do in Mortal Kombat.


    The only killer that is sus to me is Demogorgan. But I might just need to watch Stranger Things to change that.

    I prefer original characters so I don't have to spend 5 bucks to play them

    I much prefer original characters to licensed characters.

    Original characters has more of a chance to be a better killer than licensed characters. Hell, most of the licensed Killers that we got are pretty bad in comparison or are not as interesting as they should be given their license.

    Anything that makes the universe richer as a whole, basically any character with an interesting background.

    I kind of agree, but filler killers that were supposed to placehold licensed killers such as Trapper for Jason or Hillbilly for Leathetface still suffer the same genericism, I feel.

    Depends on the playstyle they have tbh


    Personally I enjoy the license characters more especially nemesis,myers, bubba and ghost face but i wouldn't mind being forced to play as doctor ,spacebilly or legion

    Mmmm I'm gonna say original, don't get me wrong I love the visuals on PH but I think playwise I have more fun with originals.

    Another thing as to why I prefer originals is that if they don't like x thing they can just change x stuff unlike licensed that they have to talk to the Company etc in order to do big changes.

    Licensed. It's just so satisfying to see well-known horror characters in one game!

    At the same time however, original characters have more freedom to their perks and powers.

    Licensed chapters are the only reason why I even got into the game and it will continue to be my sole motivator for playing the game.

    I'm not big on horror franchises, so I don't know most of the licensed killers that well, which makes me more interested in original characters. Some of the worldbuilding has also intrigued me, and I hope more gets done with that in future chapters.

    Originally main reason I bought the game was because I'm a huge horror movie and video game fan, but overall I prefer original killers and lore behind them, props to the writers.

    I think they have the right balance currently, in terms of I prefer the original characters, but to on occassion see someone who I recognise from another franchise can be rather exciting!

    In terms of original versus licence, I believe they have the balance just right.

    Original Charakters always. I am also not really into any franchise which makes me excited for Licensed Content, like, most of the licenses we have are mildly interesting for me, or I simply dont care about them.

    Obviously, if someone is a huge RE-Fan or Silent Hill Fan or Halloween-Fan, they totally love the respective licensed Characters. However, I am more for the gameplay-side and BHVR has more creativity when it comes to original Characters.

    Like, I would have never thought that we will have a Killer with a Gun at some point, and yet, Deathslinger exists. Sure, his excecution is not the best, but he is creative. Same goes for Twins, awesome concept, bad really bad excecution.
