Is it OK for me to use a key when all the gens are completed?
I ask this because I know keys annoy killers a lot but we did technically do our objectives of doing all the generators. What does it matter that our means of escape are different?

Hah, I use a key literally every game. Is it cheap? Sure, but then again the game isn’t balanced enough for me to care. I don’t feel like automatically dying half my matches without any real say in the matter.
I’d rather get tunneled out for using a key than have to wait around to die because someone picked spirit at the menu.

Nothing can stop you of using key. But killer may not say gg at the end or they may slug or camp you all game. They could dodge all your lobby too that your choice when you bring a key expect the worst behavior from the killer.

Its in the game so use it how and when you like it

If it's in the game use it to its fullest potential but you should expect your opponent to counteract whatever items, perks, etc you use.

I would save that key to a game when you actually need it, unless you have large collection of them

I think using a key after all the gens are done is probably the least annoying way to use a key. Just don't gather everyone on top of the hatch and stand there waiting for the killer to come look at you so you can use it.

It doesn't matter when you use the key. The Devs put it in the game to be used and you have every right to use it when you want.

Use a key whenever you like but if you're not a good looper and you're playing in ranks where you expect a certain level of competence from the killer just be mindful of the risks of running around the game with one in your hand because you're too much of a strategic problem to be left alone or play fair.
If you are semi competent at running killers than having a key might be even more productive.
It's risk/reward but don't let anyone dictate to you when you can use an item, this game isn't about fairness.

No, its only OK to use a key after gates are already open and the killer hasnt closed the hatch before.

If a killer complains about you using a key if all the gens are done, they're just looking for a reason to complain. I think keys are fair if you're still alive, hatch has spawned, and it didn't spawn because you're the last survivor. People who take others keys or wait until everyone is dead to use it... no, just no. However, if you brought it in/found it in a chest and you live to the point the hatch has spawned, do it. Use it.

i hate keys, but i can't blame survivors for using it when they can
