I can understand the frustration with Claire's squashed face (yikes)...
...but is there an issue with having RE5 Chris and his boulder-punching arms? Personally, it's my favorite version of him.

The problem is getting that Chris in the RE1 outfit. Its not about us getting specifically the RE5 version. If he was in his RE5 outfit it'd be pretty cool. Like Leon and RE4.

They did an alright job with chris (imo of course!) I ported Claire into sfm to take a side by side comparison look and well.....I think her model was stretched to fit the skeleton. Her face is elongated and not the proper facial structure as the source. Not to mention suffering from "dead eye syndrome" which is essentially her pupils and iris reflecting no light and eye brows raised too much to give a "witch" vibe. I personally prefer the work of Jill and think leon's re4 looks awful as it looks like a kid cosplaying as him. Again, reference reference reference is so important.
Here is the comparison for Claire as promised. (dbd is on the left, original is on the right.) I think the rig, like before is ruining the models facial features. This has happened to Johnathon from stranger things, because HONESTLY she is not half bad without that stretching.

Chris I was very surprised is actually a good representation of his RE1 self. His voice isn't too bad either
Claire is mostly okay, it's the eyes - same with Cybil's legendary, it seems BHVR just can't make people's eyes look right

I've looked at the artists portfolios and i know they're more than capable to do it, I seriously think whatever is happening between their awesome work and the rig/skeleton is screwing up badly. Looking at the promotional artwork (the non store ones) there was some sort of change between what we got and what was shown. I can't stop looking at that avatar and wonder what's going on? I know its what we call "a beauty shot" but the art team is more than capable of getting that into the game.

so, as you can tell there's bait and switch going on. which is fine, art directors change their minds and want to put a twist on things. For fans it sucks but its an artistic choice from a higher up which again, while is a lot worse, theres nothing we can do. Unless Capcom is aware of the issue and wants it fixed. (it is their ip after all)

I genuinely hope they fix Claire's face someday. Until then, though, I'm just not going to buy that skin. Which sucks, because I was going to, but goddamn... she an ugg.

But they didn't do RE1 Chris. They did RE5 Chris. Its clear by his face and hair. And arms. That's all RE5 stuff and he has the RE1 outfit in RE5 so they used the RE5 version of the RE1 outfit.

Omg same. I feel like 90% sure an Ada legendary skin is coming because almost all RE crossovers in other games usually have an Ada cosmetic.. but Iβm worried sheβs gonna get the crackhead face treatment.

As said before, if the fans can make such a huge improvement this shows she needs fixing. As an artist myself I would be ashamed to have that in the game. Even if it just the face she is beloved character by many and needs to be treated as such, not some toss away character for a quick $$$.

Chris looks like a mix of Code Veronica and Resident Evil 5 Chris to me - His arms and jawline are similar to RE5's Chris but the rest of him looks like Code Veronica's Chris.

fun fact (or theory) the reason chris got bulked up according to some is because of how easily he got his ass handed to him in that cutscene. With that extra muscle mass you can take/give that extra pounding.
