We Need to Be More Positive as a community!
This is an amazing game and it may not be perfect but it's made by a great gaming company that cares about it's fans. This game is filled with a diverse community and it is amazing. The only issue I see is the attitudes of many players, myself included that needs to get better. From now on I am going to do my pest to be positive!

The community has been really welcoming to me, here at least. In game! Yikes. Ha ha ha... But yeah, the people here are really nice.
4 -
Agreed. I wish I had the experience of the person above, but I haven't really felt welcomed in both games and the forum
1 -
Agreed. I try to be nice. I believe we can do this. Friends are we

Welcome to the DBD forums we hope you enjoy your stay

More, I would say that we, as a community, are a family!
A big, complicated and extremely divided family, but a family nonetheless.
And nothing is stronger than family.15 -
I don’t agree
most of this community has stuck fat through this game for 5 years in The hope that at some stage they will fix things.
People are tired of being disappointed by this company and they have every right to be angry and frustrated.
The game is a mess and it has been for a long time.

I'll start being positive when I can play the game without lag spikes and freezing :)

90% of my rage issues come from the game combined with dedicated servers, if i'm going to be honest. i can be mad 50 ways to Sunday at that Wraith who hit me through a vault after i landed and activated lithe... but if i'm honest its all game side related
I'm sure they made bank with this Nemesis license(as well as paying for it). So, maybe they'll invest in better servers..... but servers aren't goig to help THAT much until they clean up the coding.
I also come from a generation who had to deal with packet loss when online gaming back in the reeeeeeally early 90s. I've been mentally traumatized by lag and their servers trigger me :)

I'm sorry, but it's hard to be positive when the Devs kept making empty promises.
I'm shocked that the community is as positive as it is given the game and studio. It's honestly heartwarming that anyone is even here. It shows just how much people believe in this game, despite it hitting rock bottom. When the RE chapter was released, I was certain that everyone would just give up and leave, getting replaced with RE fans that will only be here for a few weeks. I'm glad it didn't happen. And I'm hopeful for the future of DbD, because that is a lot of money that they can funnel directly into optimisation.

The forums are positive for the most part now there used to be unpleasant people like a year and a half ago

Except those two-stage adhesives that you have to mix together.
1 -
This pretty much.
Lately I've had the displeasure of so many toxic survivors and killers being monsters in the end game chat.
Choose to not perpetuate the cycle everyone, be better and make good decisions and spread positivity instead of being toxic.
1 -
Can't argue with that.
1 -
I can't be asked being positive right now. The game that I played the most has become unplayable just because I'm on console. The devs have had weeks to fix the whole situation and they haven't. I don't know about you, but that's unacceptable, and reason for me to be angry.

"it's (the game) made by a great gaming company that cares about it's fans"
Are you sure about that?
8 -
The problem is there is always something that makes things negative with the game. For consoles, for now, it's lag, freenzing and stuttering, so it's hard to be positive when faced against PC killers that don't have the same problem and wipe the floor with you. If not this, then there is another glitch somewhere or the players are toxic. I try to be positive, but sometimes it's not possible.

Thinking anything is stronger than my love of anything small and fluffy, God its like you don't even know me

I thought small and fluffy things were your familly

I have unfortunately not been adopted by them yet :(

Only thing stronger than that is my hatred for nurse tbh

Positive isn't something you just "be". Positivity and negativity are both created by the environment the people are in. For every one thing there is to enjoy about DBD, there are three that detract from the game, creating a net negative for many people. The issues have persisted for years with little sign of improvement and have, in some cases, only gotten worse with time, and the negativity has spread with them.
Frankly, it's a genuine marvel that DBD remains as well-supported by the community as it is, in spite of how deeply flawed it is, and that the people are still around to express negativity at all.

it's made by agreat gaming company that cares about it's fans
I'm sorry but this statement is like so wrong
BHVR really is one of the worst companies out there.
Maybe not EA or Activision/Blizzard bad but still pretty bad
8 -
I agree we do need a more positive community.
We also need a better functioning game.
2 -
Positive is good, and it would also be good to add respectful in there too.
There are times where either BHVR or some players act churlish and disrespectful, whether it be throwing false accusations, showing distain for another point of view or generally being dismissive. Also, there are moments where there are respectful yet constructive feedback, which has been proven more effective than slagging someone off. Positive criticism evokes a more positive response.
Likewise, ignoring complaints also can come across as disrespectful, and even if the complaint has no basis whatsoever, to at least feel heard is good. Of course nobody can respond to everyone individually, considering how many are writing in. Likewise, complaints need to be done in a manner which makes someone want to read, rather than see it as just a load of bile and ignore it.
Anyway, positivity and respect, yet also constructively critical and striving for better, is a good way forwards.

It is hard to be positive when my game has been borderline unplayable for a month, not that it was "good" before that though.
10 -
I'll be positive when they make good on their promise to optimize the game for the ps4, Xbox1, and switch players.
5 -
Just give us things to be positive about, like seriously were usually happy with chapters but we want them working not busted. I think I can speak for most people when what we ask for isn't really acknowledged.. the grind is a great example of what would really help and make alot happy if it was reduced some

makes me think of this song I really like
0 -
Once this game has less bugs than players in total I'll be positive
2 -
Well, fair enough.
Then I suppose my love for Freddy and hatred for Ghostface are both stronger than family.
1 -
yeah but i was being positive because cows

And that is a good thing! You know I like those Cow pictures too.
Of course I prefer bears, but that is just a personal preference.

I mean Dead By Daylight is one of the most if not the most successful asymmetrical game at the moment. With tens of millions of players and followers and this game has created such a huge following. Is it perfect? No, but I guess I wish people would see BHVR is doing their best every day and really cares about us. There are plenty of other game companies I would shutter at but BHVR is not one of them. And if it's an environment that brings out the worst in someone I would suggest another game for that individual. Positivity is something you have to find in yourself. Expecting it to come from external sources and not your own isn't accurate.
But I have only played this game since Anniversary 4 but from what I've seen this game has already come a long long way. I even looked up gameplay from year 1 and boy I would not have played the game at the time.

I used to have this attitude then the RE chapter dropped.

Most people are dicks when I try to play nice in game so I would be nice but I so don't want to.
Also the games is nearly unplayable and extremely unfun for me right now on PS4, and it doesn't look to be getting better, so it's hard to stay positive.

I disagree on almost every front. DBD is a game that is fundamentally flawed, and has been elevated to the level of popularity that it has now due to it's highly addictive gameplay (For me at least, it has been addictive in a bad way, this game has genuinely worsened my mental health at times). Behaviour have repeatedly done things that spit in the face of the community (This 5th anniversary event is a great example of that). Behaviour care about how much money they can get out of us. It would be a bit naïve to assume that Behaviour genuinely care about us as a community. We are their cash cow, not their friends. They pretend to care about us because it's a good PR stunt, but I think their actions speak louder then words. The game is riddled with bugs, the game is unplayable for some console players and the Devs still have yet to actually deliver on their promise of console optimization. I could go on but frankly, it'd be a waste of time. I genuinely do commend you for trying to stay positive but I cannot agree that the game is in an even remotely acceptable spot right now.

It is getting harder and harder to stay positive the last year or two. It feels like the quality of both content and performance have taken a nosedive. And new content has been pretty disappointing for me the last 4-5 chapters.
3 -
I guess I am speaking from a PC standpoint. I personally only hear how bad console is. I often find little to no issues on PC. Or have I just not noticed? But if a lot of this is true I hope they fix it soon for everyone's sake. I would hate to see this game ever run into the ground from a lack of upkeep on current content etc. etcetera.
0 -
They are probably going to ignore it until it starts affecting PC players again, since they seem to treat Console players as second-class players.
2 -
um no. I'm not taking the blue pill and just acting like everything is fine.
1 -
Agreed but some negative complaints are valid like the awful optimization where on console useing lithe freezes everyone's game

Exactly my thoughts when I was reading this post! A lot of people have this delusional view of life where being realistic or honest is considered being 'negative' or having a bad attitude when in reality honesty and realism is required for growth in all aspects of everything ever created. Blindly supporting/justifying things just for the sake of 'PoSiTiViTy' is extreme blue pill energy. I'm sure we would all spend any amount of money or time on this game when BHVR shows they can live up to their own hype/promises and stop walking around with this condescending aura around them like they know what's best about every little detail. They've had so many skillful veterans and former Fog Whisperers tell them exactly what's wrong while providing viable solutions that fall on deaf ears, but we're supposed to suck it up and sing their praises just because "they try very hard and they care."? Its their M.F job to try very hard and care! Especially considering the state of their product and considering the fact that in the upcoming months there's some good games coming out like Back4Blood (Launching free on Xbox GamePass DAY ONE). You don't celebrate a pastry chef for making a decent batch of cookies, its literally their job and its expected with the territory. Its very easy for BHVR to feel like Scarface right now because there's no competition, it won't always be that way and it really puts a bad taste in peoples' mouths when they refuse to be transparent with the community while choosing to only fix what THEY feel is worthy. People can deny these points or disagree, but at the end of the day when your most popular streamers that are currently/formerly sponsored by BHVR's Fog Whisperer program or that make money streaming DBD echo these same thoughts its hard to dispute

When lag spikes on xbox are gone and dedicated servers work better we will all be a positive community😁
