Why cant survivor use the key when slugged?
I was about to leave the game with a key that I found in a chest, but got downed in the last moment, the killer must have seen that I have it, and refused to pick me up, and let me bleed out from full health, So annoying, I had escape before me, but the game didnt let me open it, while the killer let the other survivor open the gate and leave.

You can't use items in the dying state. A key is an item. There's not much else to it.

You already lost by the point the hatch spawned then got a 2nd chance then botched it up and you want another 2nd chance? It's bad enough keys allow you to circumvent so much of the game already they don't need to be stronger.

Mhn... i think when everyone's slugged and left to bleed out it would just be fair that items can be used and that survivors can pull themself up on the fusebox to open the gate.
Don't like that idea? then don't slug.

AH yes, the Survivor mindset; Don't use tactics I don't like, lest I demand broken 'fixes' for those tactics.

What reason is there to leave survivors to bleed out on the ground over 4 minutes when everyone else is either dead or also slugged?

No hooks nearby?
I've had that happen quite a bit, where a Survivor will crawl into a dead zone while I chase down his flashlight-saving friend. Then, I go back to the first person (to avoid being verbally abused as a 'slugger' by salty scrubs), find him in a dead zone, and go back to his friend, who ALSO crawled towards the dead zone.
You'd be surprised at how often Survivors put me in a position of 'Slug or wriggle free' and then act like I'm the villain for not letting them just wriggle free.

Yes, I certainly would be surprised given that it happens to me once in a blue moon. Killers I see doing that tend to just be pretending that the hook is too far away when in reality the amount of distance you can cover is enormous.
And even then, that requires survivors to be staying completely still and having no chance to escape at all, in which case any anti-BM mechanics like what was suggested wouldn't work.

If you know a survivor has a key you could be scared of DS if they just got unhooked or they could be running flip-flop. It's not likely but it would be extremely frustrating to down a survivor in the corner of the map/hook deadzone, wait out DS timer, and then when you pick them up they have 50% wiggle progress and get off your shoulder and then jump into the hatch instantly because 'lol keys'. The same reason moris got nerfed into the ground it wasn't fun to instantly have all your perks/ability to respond removed because of an offering/item.
Now most of the time people who do this are just BMing/being mean but there are legit use cases where you would rather a survivor with a key bleed out vs picking them and getting spammed 'LOLEZ' at end game chat. Keys need nerfs, not buffs.

Considering the trend in map design of being big, hard to navigate and spawning hooks in clusters rather than a more even disbursement it might start happening more often.

I don't like keys but, TBH, it doesn't make sense to me that someone would lose the ability to open a lock because they're lying down. I think you should be able to use keys when you're downed, but I also think there should be other changes to keys to make them less powerful.

If you think about it, run meta perks and 3rd or 4th chances aren't that uncommon. So I can see why he has been built up to expect that in the game design. Not really his b.

Same reason why you can't use literally any other item on the ground.

Hawkins/Swamp are two maps where you can find big deadzones even worse if someone died on the only hool available nearby
Or you know there is à sabotage near the only hook you can reach
I dont like à bleed out slug,.but when you dont have à choice...
Beside if key man gets saved, its an easy hatvh escape
