Candyman is the next killer.
It is obvious that chapter 21 will be licensed and is nothing more and less than Candyman, according to these tweets are after the revelation of the Resident Evil chapter.
The new Candyman movie will be released next month and next month, we will have the reveal of the new chapter.
In short, the Candyman actor is hinting that he appears in Dead by Daylight, as it is now the horror hall of fame. I spoke for a long time saying that he made voice recordings for a project, I think that makes sense since it also happened with the episode of Ash vs Evil Dead, I think the wait is over and it is time to know what his ability and his perks could be.

While i think it would be cool, nowhere in those tweets is he hinting at it. Someone else asked if it was and he ignored it, and he said "Just #wait" not really a big indication of DBD if you ask me.

If he said no to that other guy, it would mean he isn't coming to the game. Not saying anything neither confirms nor denies anything. It could just be NDA for all we know

Resident Evil is a tough act to follow, not sure Candyman quite does it. Would make sense to use another OC to increase distance before adding in a b tier horror icon. Not that I would complain, would love to see him.

The only reason I think it could be Candyman is because of the new movie coming out. If it wasn't for that I really think he wouldn't be in the game and I still doubt he'd be in it. He just isn't nearly as well known as almost every other licensed character, it would be a weird shift.

Now, but what happens with which actor follows the developers and the dbd itself, without a doubt Dead by Daylight also refers to that movie, with the anniversary logos and the skulls, really if Candyman ends up being the next killer, I'll split of laughter.

The first movie is great and the second is decent, we pretend the third never happened. from what I understand the new movie is like what they're doing with the new Halloween trilogy, a sequel to the original and ignoring the other movies that came before it. The man that plays Candyman, Tony Todd, is a horror icon and has made appearances in numerous movies and shows that are horror related.
As for power he could be teleporting, possessing survivors, using swarms of bees as a semi ranged killer, or even stealth.

I doubt the next chapter is licenced again. As far as i know they said they only add one licence per year and we already got a licenced chapter this year.
Maybe for Year 6.

If I remember right the road map implied there would be two licensed chapters this cycle so RE and another. They had Leatherface, Freddy, and Pig all released back to back. Then a string of OCs followed by Ash, Ghostface, and Demo all back to back in 2019.
With how bugged a lot of the killers that have been released recently have been I wonder if Candyman was supposed to come when the Twins did but because the movie kept getting pushed back they had to adjust their cycle and put a rush on Twins and Trickster to compensate.Many of the bigger licenses have been timed with releases of the other media they come from: RE Village a couple months before the chapter, Jigsaw in October of 2017 and the Saw chapter in January 2018, Stranger Things Season 3 in July 2019 and the Chapter released September 2019.

I still think the Candyman DLC release was postponed because it was supposed to match the film's release, which is why the Twins were so buggy.
Regardless, I'm sure the devs have their eye on Candyman and have approached Tony Todd about voicing him (because Candyman without Tony Todd is like a sandwich without the bread - sure, the rest is still tasty, but it's not a sandwich any more).

I'm here for all the Candyman memes with every new chapter, buuut bringing Candyman chapter around the time of movie release makes enough sense to me.
And even if he's not released then I'm pretty sure we're gonna get him sooner or later. Tony is a huge horror fan and I think would be happy to take part in the project. I don't get another bunch of people saying he wouldn't fit or be included because he's not that popular of a horror icon.
Also, can someone remind me what was happening with that tweet DbD account made a long time ago? Bees and honey and skull, if I remember correctly? I'm pretty sure they tried to deflect and say it doesn't have any connection to the Candyman, but it really looked like they were implying something with it.

Considering how broken the RE launch was (and still is)? Not that tough an act to follow, really. I think all most folks want at this point is an update that doesn't break the game even more. Our expectations are that low.

And tbh, even tho I love Candyman and want him in the game ... I don't see a problem with him following up the Resident Evil chapter.
I mean, sure it might not have the same hype as Resident Evil, but this is exactly why I don't see it being released as an anniversary chapter. I think those would be saved for some bigger franchises.
Again, I want Candyman, but I see some other franchise reserve the spot for anniversary events more than him, and Candyman being released at other chapters in the year.

That tweet was from one of the devs and not the official account!
it was saying ‚next chapter is gonna be sweet‘ with a bee and sweets emoji and people interpreted it as Candyman hint.

I still don’t get how anyone thinks Candyman would be boring, especially with his potential for DbD powers.
Tony Todd voice acting, hook-hand weapon, bee swarm as a potential projectile and/or AI based power, mirrors potentially for teleports. And I never even watched any movies, but this sounds pretty damn interesting.

I watched the original Candyman years ago, and I remembered it being very bad. I rewatched it last year, and yep, it was long, boring, and not at all scary.
Candyman just wasn't interesting to me.

Definitely the first movie, and maybe the second. I love his movies because they feel so different from a normal slasher movie and it's super refreshing. PLUS THAT VOICE IS GOD LIKE

i agree. going to go in hand with the movie i think. Unless tony todd is talking about a stand alone candyman game. Which i highly doubt. This would make sense if the candyman chapter was delayed and the binding of kin/allkillchapter were pushed up. It would explain the lackluster chapters lately
