Will crossplay be possible Ps4 XBox1 and PC in the next summer with dedicated servers?

I was wondering if crossplay on multiple consoles and pc will be possible after the dedicated servers release

I doubt it Microsoft and Sony still aren't playing nice with each other and besides those on PC would have an advantage via that 360 dodge

The test with Fortnite was a success, and since then other games have announced Cross Play so I’m hopeful.

It would definitely be after dedicated servers are established though.

Other games simply have opt in Cross Play.

Where you can choose to have Cross Play enabled, as well as only have Cross Play between consoles.

If Xbox and PS4 could play together it would be great, but PC should definitely be kept separate.

It should be opt in, where you can change your settings and choose to play with PC.

maybe....but unite all platforms can reduce waiting time on lobbies.

Sony will always be the holdout on this since they don't want people to be able to play on other platforms.

They have this backwards logic about it. Apparently, they believe that allowing people to play with their friends on other platforms will lower profits on their own. Of course, anyone with a grain of common sense knows that the exact opposite happens - if the other consoles offer more options, people will just move to those.

For the last 5 years, PlayStation has held a sizable lead on Xbox in terms of units sold.

Outside of exclusives, often times a large driver in determining what console you’re going to get is what you’re friends have. So by preventing customers from playing with other platforms, it forces friends or family to purchase the same system to play with each other.

In the present however, Cross Play is growing to be a much more desired feature amongst consumers. As such Sony has been slowly caving into consumer demand and is allowing Cross Play across multiple titles.

Frankly, a large part of how Sony was able to deny Cross Play for so long is because of how dreadful the launches of the Xbox One and Wii U were. It garnered them a huge lead, and they’ve rode the momentum up till this point.

In the future, and especially in the next generation of consoles. So long as Microsoft and Nintendo don’t botch there launches again, it’s very unlikely Sony will be able to remain very opposed to Cross Play, without losing a substantial amount of customers.

Wanna bet? I think they're going to keep being stubborn.

Oh I don’t doubt Sony will.

But so long as consumers want Cross Play, they’ll move to the platforms that offer it.

So if Sony chooses to be stubborn, they aren’t gonna get off scot-free this time.

Maybe not, but they are going to underestimate the effect this will have, go bankrupt (or almost), and put the blame on something else.

Every comment there that mentions crossplay says they aren't. Give me the exact time in the video where they announce it, if indeed it's there.

They’ve allowed Cross Play on select games, and they are expanding this list bit by bit, however the video you linked didn’t make any announcement of Cross Play.

and create a ridiculous situation where a PC killer gets to go against console survivors or worse, console killer (no frames and less control vs pc survivors). This would NOT be a good thing.

and no, you can't just "turn your sensitivity up on console". Anyone saying that has no idea what they are talking about for obvious reasons.

Cross play for xbox and ps4, PC separate, would be a win.

SMITE is working on cross play. Feels bad being a PS4 player and seing my console excluded.

Hopefully sony stops with this selfish BS completely. They're literally holding back their player base from the future of gaming.

People have been dreaming of this ######### for decades.

It should also be noted that Smite will be introducing Cross Progresssion as well.

Agreed. PC has quite an advantage. On that note there is nothing better as a Playstation player hearing that Nurse teleport scream at the start of the match, and knowing, 100% that there is no way I could ever possibly lose this match.

Where as on PC that noise could very well be a death sentence.

"Hurdur u habe da advtange an it unfair." People like you need to seriously open their eyes and actually think about what they're saying. It's the same kind of person who will claim that having a gaming mouse with macro ability is cheating, while not giving a single ######### about people who spend 20 times that amount to play on a 144hz monitor with a beefy graphics card. At that point just disable controller support for PC, because those player are at a disadvantage too. Oh and also lock down the config file so you can't go beyond 60fps. Even in shooters players won't have a disadvantage unless you're looking at the best of players. In casual matchmaking you won't notice the difference between a controller user or mouse user, they'll perform the same. And if you're really still not convinced that not every game is le ebin competitive and you can have crossplay, look at Fortnite. PC, console and phone users can all play together or just by themselves if they choose to. No ######### you're going to be at a way bigger disadvantage with touch controls and lower frame rates, but you can either get good and put up a fight or simply choose to only play with mobile users until you get home and can play on your console or PC.
    Higher fov =/= major advantage
Higher refresh rate =/= major advantage
    Better controls =/= major advantage

Being skilled and learning the rules of the game = major advantage

This is the only part that matters: choice.

Cross Play between Consoles presents little issue of fairness.

Cross Play between Console and PC does, regardless of how little you may think it matters.

So long as Cross Play between Console and PC is opt in, a choice, then it’s fine.

However if Cross Play is forced between Console and PC then it’s a problem.

If it was just between consoles then I wouldn't mind too much I suppose. But I don't want PC vs console matches.

Most games with Cross Play are opt in, so it shouldn’t be a problem.

Unless Behavior chooses to make it a problem.
