Kobying
Has anyone successfully Kobe’d off the hook recently? I haven’t done this in TWO updates/chapters and I find it very strange… And the scenario I’m alluding to is when everyone is slugged on the ground and it’s your first hook, or you know your teammates won’t make it to you before struggle phase so as a last ditch attempt, you go for it. Curious to see if any one else has had this experience (or lack thereof) recently.
Edit: Fully aware of 4% (despite it, I’ve Kobe’d at least once per chapter until recently)

What’s so strange about it? By default you only have a 4% chance to escape with each attempt.

I also succeeded in Kobeing a few days ago.
Remember it is a 4% chance you succeed. It should be one of those "1 in a million" moments.

Fully aware about the 4%. I found it strange because I’ve played this game for almost 4 years and I’ve Kobe’d off at least ONCE per update/chapter. This is new to me. I didn’t give it any thought last chapter, we have a mid-chapter coming next week (?)/soon and it just dawned on me this is two chapters I’ve gone without doing it. Same gameplay as always, for the past 4 years. I’m not doing anything different. Just curious what everyone else’s experiences were…

I've done it twice during RE chapter alone, so I suppose you've just had exceptionally bad luck this time around.

I actually kobed off a hook that then allowed to escape during end game about two weeks ago on my last attempt

Recently won a game when I was on the hook and the other 2nd dude was downed and about to be hooked ran to the gate and used DS ez escape

I usually cant kobe when I want to and will only Kobe when I am trying to kill myself so I guess I had to get good luck once. Lol

I only seem to Kobe when I’ve given up hope. And then it usually leads to me getting downed anyway, but hey, at least I tried.

A few weeks ago I did it like 3 days in a row which is crazy. But other than that it's extremely rare.

I get at least one Kobe as a killer every match. Can't remember the last time I had a Kobe though :(

I managed it twice during cakes. got to escape once. I did once while trying and got away the second time I was trying to hurry my death as it was a hopeless game.

EDIT: To be more precise.. I didnt kobed since like 220 hours playtime now. Since i switched from PS4 to PS5 i havent kobe'd and i got a bit more than 220 hours on PS5 now.
Well, to be fair atleast 100 hours are Killer playtime since i play like 60% survivor and 40% killer.

Anyone else get a bit of a thrill from gambling? Consecutive matches with a first attempt successful Kobe is something you could chase endlessly..
2 games in a row the odd are 1 in a few hundred or so..
3 games in a row.. 1 in thousands
5+ games in a row the odd become something like 1 in hundreds of thousands and beyond….
buuutttt…. there’s a chance it could actually happen to you even though the probability is astronomically low. 😚🍀

It's not like a stacking buff where 'oh I haven't escaped in x attempts so my chance to escape is 4% * x on my next escape attempt'. Things like "ive managed to get off the hook once per chapter before" are totally meaningless. You could get lucky and get off the hook 10 times in a row, it's still 4%. You could be unlucky and try 1000 times and never get off. 4% is 4% in isolation.
