Spirit vs Nurse

It is well known that the Nurse is the best killer in the game. However, Spirit is eerily similar to Nurse. Both have powers that give them great map pressure and can traverse the map pretty quickly. Blinking and phase walking are very similar but have minor differences such as Spirit not being able to see survivors and Nurse having fatigue after her blinks.

My personal preference is Spirit due to her being a bit sneakier especially with the “Prayer Beads” add-on. She requires a bit more mind gaming than Nurse. I also hate looking at the ground for 70% of the round while blinking as Nurse. I do play on PS4 so I run into very few good Nurse players because it is a bit harder on console than PC.

Nurse is still the best killer on PC, but I do believe that Spirit takes the cake on console. What is everyone elses opinion on Nurse vs Spirit?

Personally I prefer the Spirit. I've tried playing Nurse but I fail, miserably. But I find that when I play Spirit it just works. I have most of my games end up with 3 or 4 kills. Although like nurse, the gap between a good and bad game is usually bigger. For me its either 3/4k or none as Spirit for one reason or another. I usually have a broader spread as other killers.

Plus I like the challenge. Start haunting and then it becomes a game of figuring out 'where would I be if I was a survivor'. Same challenge the nurse has, but I find it easier to control the Spirit's power than I do the nurses blinks.

Spirit is nothing compared to Nurse.

    Nurse completely dominates chases.

But as someone who used to play on console, I can see why you made this post. It's hard to imagine how good Nurse is when you play on console.

the only reason why nurse is as high on that list as she is is due to the fact that she can completely ignore the survivors defenses, which spirit can not do. therefore, spirit is inferior to nurse (she is not bad though, just not as srong as nurse).

As a Nurse main, I have a pretty good prediction. Still, Sally is my favourite. She is more fun than the spirit (for me).

I like the Spirit more because of fun mind games/I love her aesthetic. Also, I don't find the Nurse very fun to play. I think both are high tier (spirit is high tier n the right hands) because survivors have 0 idea what to expect. The Nurse and Spirit are super unpredictable which makes them good killers. Nurse is still the best killer, literally no argument can be made against that

Nurse is all about mechanical skills. Spirit is all about mind games. It's a lot easier to have high mechanical skill as that can be learned with experience. It is a lot harder to have strong mind games because that requires creativity and a deep understanding of player behavior.

Nurse is ultimately more powerful than Spirit, but Spirit is harder to master. Both are equally devastating once mastered though.

I want to like Nurse, but I can't see myself playing her. My blinking talent is next to nil. Probably doesn't help being on consoles on top of it.

Meanwhile I seem really good at Spirit, and ######### if I know why.  Probably the passive phasing, and the fact I have eyes and especially ears so i can usually hear survivors pretty well, even without stridor.

I prefer Spirit but that's mostly because even though I play on PC, I use a controller and Nurse (along with Huntress) is basically impossible to play well with a controller, so I've all but given up even trying to git gud at her. I'm so happy Spirit exists (and wish her picture was on this forum, I would so use that as my default pic) because she's the Nurse I never got to play.

I really love Nurse and Huntress, but I play on console so I use Spirit and Clown as my replacements for those two even though I do like Clown over Huntress due to his faster movement speed and being able to slow down survivors with his bottles. I’m so bad with Huntress’ hatchets. I like Clown’s pallet destroyer build over Huntress’ insta-hatchet build any day.

I like Nurse for aesthetic purposes, but I am so bad at playing her. I’ll get maybe two or three hooks with Nurse if the survivors are potatoes. Like you said, Spirit is the Nurse I never got to play.

I would also have Spirit as my profile picture if they updated it.

    PC: Nurse
    Console: Spirit

Nurse destroys Spirit on PC. On consoles, it's reversed.

But on PC, if a good nurse finds you, your skill level as a survivor is basically irrelevant.

I play console from time to time and It's Hag who's the best on console. Nurse>Hag>Spirit>Billy. That's ur 4 top tier killers ranked. I play all 4 and find Billy very strong but not Hag or Spirit level.

spirit dominates chases just as well as nurse if not better she can stand still a get a hit... and nurse is counter able use line of sight blockage or gen rush her... u beat her with spirit is different u just rely on 1 perk... but if she stridor ur done for

In 2020 I agree with you. I think Nurse and Spirit are still the top 2 killers in the game, but I think Spirit is better on most maps. Nurse gets the edge on anything with a lot of verticality because her mobility becomes ridiculous. Countering a good Spirit is basically repeatedly rolling a safe roll on a die that's weighted against you. Countering a good Nurse is difficult, but you have control while dodging her and she's punished if she isn't able to land a hit (or if she misses) in a way that Spirit really isn't.

Well spirit CAN mindgame but it's not really skillfully to stand still and wait. But I do agree on console spirit is probably better due to limited sensitivity especially because if you over blink as nurse turning mid blink can be harder to do on console. But yeah nurse is better in general, but I will prefer her since she is high risk high reward. Spirit is just uncounterable for no reason. Thats why nurse had the most nerfs everI believe.

Well, I see that on console is harder to blink as nurse due to the controler, personally I like Nurse even though I didn't master her,

Also to state how different Nurse and Spirit are...

Spirit: Oh no, they threw a pallet on me, I need turn around the pallet in order to hit the survivor.

    Nurse:

I disagree nurse has actual counterplay spirit on the other hand u have to rely on iron will but she is running stridor ur done for
