Sounds like you DC’d a lot prior to get such a penalty. Not saying the penalty in this scenario is deserved, but maybe see games through a bit more so when the unfortunate crash does happen, this won’t.

It's impossible to get an hour ban on your first disconnect, so you're definitely lying

i crashed 3 times mid match as surv last night, and just stopped playing for the night. Didn't think the game would punish me this hard after nearly a full day had passed. Running my game on ultra kept causing easy anti cheat to force close the game during certain actions

Maybe if you didn't rage quit before you wouldn't have to wait an hour when something like this happens, just a thought.

Or, more likely, it's a ragequitter trying to grift on the forums, hoping to get the dev's attention so they remove the DC penalty

I'd say either is equally likely.
I've only crashed once and my friend @Shdw_Void has also crashed once since the update, but I've seen others crash repeatedly.
It isn't uncommon
