I can’t believe people think Feng’s rework looks bad
I think she looks so pretty now and it still looks like Feng! The old Feng was so low quality and blurry, she barely had features lol. At least she doesn’t look totally different like they did to Kate :(

I'm usually a Feng main and I prefer the pre-rework Feng. Could be just nostalgia, but I think she looked better before.

The nostalgia is definitely a thing for me too. But the thing that always bothered me about Feng was how low quality her face was before - she was cute but didn’t look like a real person haha

I think if you post a super low quality of any character mid blink they may look a little off…
I’ve never liked Feng’s default hair though. It’s weird how she has no lip color

That’s exactly how I feel too lol. Like they only liked the female characters when they looked super cartoon like (kate and feng for example) they were so low quality and basically “perfect”, but now that they made the girls look realistic, everyone freaked out. It’s so weird. To me they just look like real versions of what the animated characters tried to look like lol

I like the rework, same for most of them (including Kate), just because you can see real detail and texture in the new faces. Comparing pre-rework faces to new survivors like Felix or Elodie was kind of painful, IMO. I think it was very much needed, although I understand why people get upset. You get used to that face for your favorite character, and losing it sucks.

She looks better than she used to,it seems lots of people fail to realise she's not supposed to be a supermodel and that everyone has angles that make them look "uglier" than they are.

I'm a Feng main, and I prefer the rework. I think she looks a lot cleaner. The original design looked muddy, especially when you equipped her original hair. I think her rework looks especially good when you equip the blight outfit.

Kate definitely needed a rework, her model along with Feng were horrible quality and didn’t look like real people. The only issue I have with Kate are the animations and expressions - the rework itself is very pretty. I wish she’d close her mouth like the other characters and soften up her expression since Kate is the “hopeful” one and used to look like she was nice and inviting

I honestly like the open mouth, it's a distinct feature unique to her. Besides, she always had an open mouth, which just wasn't very visible since everything including lips and teeth kinda blent in together.
Yeah, some facial animations seem to act weird on some characters, as you may or may not now, Jill, make her look like the gorilla people think Feng is (Feng's rework is really good, people really need to take off their nostalgia glasses), Jane's just stops when holding an item too.
Issues aside, I can't wait for the rest of the survivors. Indicators of them still getting reworked are the lower resolution on textures they still have and them missing the pink/red gradient on the hands that everyone after Felix and the remodelled survivors have. Really hope Nancy gets to look more like Natalia and that Jeff get's a real belly and not that weird bulge he currently has.

I have gotten more used to Kate’s rework and they definitely improved it from the PTB. Agreed that the animations seem weird. I think that it was risky to rework the character’s faces but not the animations. Some of the old animations clearly don’t work well on the new faces.

I understand if the bones in the face are [BAD WORD] like Jill's and Nancy's or if they remove makeup or change hair textures/directions and colors so things look broken or off, but the facial reworks themselves are based primarily on the original geometry. It's not identical, but you can see how things mesh together if you overlay the new and old faces in a photo editor.
In fact, I'm sure that if you just applied the old textures to the new faces, it'd be hard to tell the difference most of the time.

Plenty of people, men and women alike, have different thoughts about the reworks, and I've seen plenty of complaints about Ace, Dwight, and David.
I mained Kate before the reworks so my feedback naturally is focused on her. Regardless if you think Kate's rework is better or worse, I think its true to say her expression/animations changed quite a bit. People that liked her original expression are understandably upset at this change. I do agree the overall texture detail is better. I'd just like them to tweak her expression to look more like her original personality.

Agreed! Kate is my main and I’m just a little upset that her expression looks so mean. The actual model and features are amazing though.
