I cannot see BBQ's aura if a surv is standing on a particular side of a gen...how do I overcome this

I played a couple of matches today and I swear I cannot see survivors working on a gen if they stand on like the back of a generator, how can I fix this

    You can't. That's one of the counters to BBQ.

    At these moments, just use your game sense to go to a gen.

    I don't think you can, really! It's one of the few weaknesses to BBQ and Chili, with the other being lockers. With time, you may make out the ever so slight colour tone difference between a survivor and a gen, but this is one of the few defenses survivors have against it.
