Does anyone else keep getting sold out in Solo Queue?
I don't know if it's enough to call a problem yet, but I've had 2 solo queue matches close together where I had another survivor intentionally try to sell me out, even though I was constantly contributing.
First was against Myres, early in the match, another survivor was about to get hooked so I jumped into a locker to cover for BBQ just in case. Just after, a survivor I know was not in line of sight came by not being chased, drops a pallet and vaults back and forth a few times, then tries to climb in my locker well before the killer gets there, then proceeds to do so over and over until the killer arrived and then did so again in front of them.
2nd was against Wraith. Midgame 2-3 gens done, while working on a gen with another survivor near the killer shack, we hear the heartbeat getting close and break off, so I jump in a locker again just before the killer arrived and the other survivor was found and hit. They then looped the shack 2-3 times, stopping every time to spin in front of the locker I was in.
These were not Point Farming matches.
I was constantly contributing to objectives.
I was not sitting in the lockers for any unreasonable length of time.
Does/have anyone have trouble with this?

The only time I see this happening is to Claudettes with Iron Will that will unhook then disappear, leaving the unhookee out in the open. They then proceed to try and NOT interact with the killer for the entire match and say they were doing "objective".
Those types of players are huge detriments to their team, playing cowardly and hiding, when you havent been hooked once, and everyone else is on death hook is a huge determent to your team.

The Wraith match was in a similar scenario. We had a few death hooks and I was the only one who hadn't been hooked, but I had several safe unhook heal combos that match already. I was just getting lucky I hadn't been seen, wasn't a matter of protection hits.

Its not about protection hits, its about pulling your weight in chase. If all you do is hide and just try to do gens while your team is going down, you need to alleviate some of the pressure off your team by finding the killer yourself to get them to chase you.
Most players, including myself hate immersive teammates. I don't care if you did a gen, or think you are being useful. If you hide for a majority of the match, and havent been hooked once while the rest of the team is TRYING to do gens, and loop the killer, I can see why they would be upset and want you to get downed by the killer.

as a solo survivor i do especially when end game starts and i go save the hooked person they instantly leave so i get #########.
SMH screw you console players
so i stopped saving console players.
and believe me console players cant freely change there name and i remember names, i will farm you next time.

I see this happen often enough in solo queue that it's best not to have any expectations or social contract. If you really need a reasonable expectation in multiplayer gaming, kindly remember that there are far fewer winners than there will be losers.
Trust is fickle for a game that doesn't feature in game chat.

Nope. I been doing the selling out.
My team makes some outrageously bad decisions in the first two minutes of the game? Survival of the fittest. Iβll be in my locker if you need me.

My A1 Day 1 Base Kit! When it all comes down to it, it's you, or me, and it's not gonna be me!

I'll face camp pc players like you every time :D

Basically. I used to play DBD as a team game, kinda like the guy above was saying.
Blah blah go take hooks for your team and βpull your weight in chaseβ and run borrowed time and this and that.
Andβ¦well I ended up dying a ton for teammates who donβt care about me at all.
These days? Forget it. I let the whole team die regularly for hatch.

I still got Gold in Evader both matches.

I always let the sold out survivors get a chance to escape, maybe I'll down them, but I always go after the person trying to kill their team mates
2 -
I'm glad these things can be seen from the killers view!
2 -
I play both sides, so I know frustrating it can be.
Plus, it feels satisfying for the poor survivor watching them get their revenge in the hands of someone else

You say you didn't sit in a locker for an unreasonable long time, but you do know BBQ only lasts for 4 secs. So for the match against Myers, are you saying another teammate drops a pallet, vaults back and forth a few times, then tries to go in your locker, and proceeds to do so over and over until the killer arrives, all within a span of 4 secs???
After the 4 secs are up, GTFO of the locker.
2nd example is basically a killer keeping 2 survivors occupied. He's chasing one survivor, while you are hiding in the locker. What should you do instead? again GTFO the locker and either the killer will continue to chase your teammate or will now chase you, but at least he won't keep 2 survivors occupied.

The other survivor was out of sight when I got in, i.e. they did not know I was in the locker to begin with. Then they dropped the pallet. Vaulted Twice, then the opened the locker seeing that I was in there. This all happened from the time the survivor was hooked, to when we began to hear the heart beat. They repeated opening the locker the entire time the killer drew closer, to when they were clearly in line if sight, and then proceeds to down them.

I didnβt sell them out but I feel horrible for what happened to a Cheryl because of me and I guess BHVR. Basically I picked them up from dying state at a pallet and on my screen they were on my side so I was in between the Cheryl and the killer. I was going to take a hit and go down but the pallet was so weak I dropped it to save us both but somehow the Cheryl got sucked allllll the way over the other side and past me through me like a ghost and got knocked again. It looked like pure dedicated bad luck on my end but probably looked like pure sandbagging on theirs.
Regarding βselling outβ people or snitching.. it happens. Sometimes they run the killer to your area by accident and others they flat out point to where you are. Likely just goofing/trolling for their own kicks but youβd be surprised how petty some people can be.. like you could have opened a chest they wanted and you had no idea so it becomes their goal to make sure they rat you out at some point.

Just started playing again this past week, haven't seen this issue yet. I did have back to back games where 2 survivors disconnected within seconds of being hooked for the first time. Even happened when I played killer. It's especially detrimental when they cut our team in half with 4 gens left. You're situation sounds worse, more malicious.

BBQ lasts up to 8 seconds if it's tier 3, tier 2 is 6 secs I believe and tier one is 4 secs.

2 -
Who told you that?
The only thing that changes each tier is the number of tokens the killer can get, like WGLF.

Good lord. This whole thread is a testament to the toxic entitled mentality that runs rampant in the survivor community. "Play the way I like or else!"

Yeah, i am that Claudette. But let me tell you this:
if i unhook you, and i run away, thats because the killer has already shown he comes back to the hook as soon as you unhook. If you stay and selfcare under the hook, its your fault. If the killer comes back too fast, i will tank that hit for you and distract him, but staying there waiting for him is your choice.
Also, i got numberous games where i took hits for teammates because i was unhooked and they were on deadhook. And what should i tell you, i distract the killer, get hooked, and die on my first hook, because noone unhookes me, even if the killer doesnt camp.
But i learn, so i just stopped doing that. I dont care for my teammates anymore, because they dont care about me.
But that might be a regional thing, because a lot of those players are russians, and they seem to play different from other (european) players.
So, give me a good reason why i should change that behaviour. Why should i take a hit for a survivor that is just too stuborn to hide from a returnig killer? Why should i sacrifice myself for people that wonΒ΄t save me even if there is no risk in doing so? I am very interested in your answers.

Did you play Killer with BBQ tier 3 already?

I've had games where I kid you not a teammate would be running bond, realising they were screwed would bring the killer to us on purpose and then proceeded to hide when the killer started chasing us.
2 -
I've had games like that. I had a game recently where I saved someone. I think he was on second hook. I go for the save slowly and carefully usually, because I'm not good at chases and I want to be sure the killer isn't around.
So, I rescue this person, who was on his second hook. He didn't want to be healed. He immediately starts jumping a fence over and over, creating a loud noise notification. So I start to walk away, so I won't leave scratch marks. When he sees this, he starts running after me. So, I start running to get away. Then I get in a locker, because I know the killer will be coming.
So, then he makes more noise notifications with a pallet and then comes to my locker, trying to open the door over and over. The killer comes and I get out and try to run, because I'm full health and the survivor is injured and I think I can get away. The killer pursues me and then downs me, with the survivor who downed me right with him. I dc'd. I didn't want to be in that game.
Anyway, I'm sorry you've had to go through this. I know the feeling and it sucks, but there are more nice teammates I believe than bad.

If I was killer in those matches, I would have let you go until I got the other person. Dead by Daylight is no place for cowards and betrayers when I'm killer.
2 -
I think he was angry he got to 2nd phase because you were being overly cautious and was crouch walking towards him. you wanted to be sure that the killer wasn't around, but playing like this is an absolute detriment to the team. you can't play so timid that you have to be sure about where the killer is before you make a move.
0 -
I wasn't the one that let him go to second phase. He was on his second hook. I prefer to be careful, because I don't like it when people rescue me in front of the killer. If they rescue me in front of the killer, then I'm likely going down again, because I'm not good at chases.
So, I'll have to disagree with you.

As an Iron Will Claudette main, it makes me think about sandabbing some of those theorists on purpose occasionally, and indeed "unhooking and disappearing", like you suggested. If everyone is on dead hook and I have 0 hooks - it just means I survived better than you. The main objective of SURVIVORS, believe it or not, is to SURVIVE, and whoever does it better is the better player. If you played as good as I did, you would also have 0 hooks. So not only you justify sandbagging and cooperating with killer (which is a bannable offense, btw), you justify sandbagging those who played most efficiently during the match.

Can you really complain about a bad team when you yourself are contributing to that?
2 -
Hiding and doing nothing all game doesnt mean you're a better player. Taking risks, contributing to the team and winning chases does.

DBD community*
A lot of killers arent any better.

All the time. Fair warning the closer to red ranks you are the more likely the survivors are to cheat. They will use bond to lead the killer right to you. They will point you out if you hide in a locker. They will try to shake the killer off on you every chance they get.
This is cheating, under the report options it is called "Working with the Killer". They deserve to be banned. Take video evidence. Report them.
1 -
You don't get a say in how other people play the game. If you cheat, you deserve to be banned. If you are the killer, and you work with the survivors, YOU ARE CHEATING!

Those sorts of players literally encourage tunnelling in the game. As killer I try sometimes not to tunnel the unhookee and go after the unhooker but if I can't find the unhooker then of course I'm just going to go after the unhookee.
People who play like this as survivor need to stop thinking it's a smart thing to do. They're just encouraging survivor-induced tunnelling.

Yup. Happened to me just 2 days ago on Red Forest versus a r1 Nurse. Did 3 gens, 2 saves, 2 totems. Saved the Nea who got hooked in shack basement and by the time I saved her, the Nurse had hooked the Dwight pretty much right outside shack, so I ran up, she hit me and I decided to trade hooks for Dwight. I went down, managed to crawl away from her, only for her to jump on the Jane who then brings the Nurse over to me and teabags before running off.
Dwight and Jane die at 2 gens left, the Nea completes 1 and I complete the final gen right as the Nurse gets to the gen. I then realize the Nea is emoting and motioning the killer over to me and I'm just like ??? I saved you and this is the sh*t you pull? When we could possibly both have gotten out? Well I run and mindgame the Nurse for about 2m, while Nea is trying to bodyblock me from pallets and windows. I even lose the Nurse again with Deception and then hop in another locker. Right when Head On activated, she opened the locker. Hooked me and died. & then she gave the Nea the hatch.
Told the killer I'd report them and they laughed and said go ahead! They knew nothing would happen bc the in-game report is a joke.
I'll never understand killers/survivors that play like that. Like you must let things bother you so much, lol. I wasn't even angry, I was just confused and felt bad for them.

I commented in another thread a while ago about a similar experience I recently about this game's perception of "how other players perform". I had never deliberately sandbagged anyone, most often than whatnot is me running the Killer into structures were I can loop them and accidentally finding people working on generators in there, but that's so not intentional from my part.
I was in a match where we ended up in a three-generator situation after the Killer tunnelled a player right off the start. I had zero hooks because the Killer didn't commit to chases with me, they gave up on me after chasing me around loops they couldn't catch onto me and returned to chase someone else instead. The other two were already on dead hook and after one of them died the other one teamed up with the Killer to block me on loops until the Killer got me and then they proceeded to camp me until I died and then the Killer let them escape through the hatch. Their reasoning was that "I didn't do anything the whole match and just hide" and that I was "only waiting for hatch to get a free escape". Mind you, I did three generators by myself and unhooked and healed them in multiple occasions despite the other player escaping through hatch I had more points than them... but of course, I did nothing the whole match.

If you are asuming that, why post here at all?
Sure i accept your opinions, but that doesnt mean they are reason enough to change mine, especially if you are ignoring my experiences anyway.

I HATE survivors who do this. I mostly play solo survivor and I always try and do gens and get saves when required but I try mostly to be on gens because I can't communicate with my team. But what makes it worse is when the killer rewards the little ######### with hatch. As if the killer knew what everyone was doing every second of the game ππππ
