Why is Ormond still SurvivorLand™
- Every tile is completely safe. It's a series of safe rock pallets connected to jungle gyms connected to more safe rock pallets connected to the killer shack connected to another jungle gym
- The main house still has balcony-blocking god pallets WITH a drop, so the survivor can leave chase for free as you're forced to kick the pallet down
- On top of the 85 safe pallets, you have to cross a huge distance to get back to the generators (that are also next to safe pallets)
Gideon Meat Plant has safe pallets because it's tiny. Ormond's pallets are just as bad, but the map is huge, why is it still like this?

It’s not as bad as it used to be but it’s still not very bearable to play on. I would much rather get it than pallet plant, Haddonfield, and hold W sim known as Midwich.

Most of the rock pallets are super unsafe. You only get looped on those if the survivor is way better than you.
I agree the map is still a bit survivor sided, especially with the size and gen spread, but it's not even close to how it was before the rework.

The rock pallets are safe, they always work for me when I play survivor. You just have to pre-drop depending on the killer
1 -
I don’t think it is. Most of the filler rock loops are easily shut down by killers with any semblance of anti-looping capability. At least you can actually get some hits at them instead of endless safe pallet after safe pallet like on the game.
Overall it’s just a somewhat survivor sided map, huge in size with a safe main building and a few scattered strong tiles. But that describes half the maps in the game.

It's shut down if they try to loop the rock itself before dropping. A smart survivor will pre-drop and then loop around it a couple times before they vault over to the jungle gym.

Ormond's tiles are much more spread out than before and quite a few tiles aren't that safe.
The main thing that helps survivors is the size of the map and the giant building blocking in the center of the map. The building both blocks LoS from opposite sides of the map as well as making it harder for mobility killers to get from 1 side to the other quickly.

You cant just vault to a jungle gym though. Most rock tiles are connected to other rock tiles on one side of the map. Also the killer will have bloodlust so you are not making it that far. The rock tiles are the most unsafe things in the game becuz it's a 5050

bloodlust = safe loop

Personally I find the main building worse then it use to be but the rest of the map slightly better overall its still feels pretty awful and easily one of my least favorite maps in the game and getting 4 times in a row the other day really reminded me of that.

But hey, it's got breakable walls! They help a whole lot, don't they?
1 -
The same reason that Meat Plan and Hawkin's Lab are Killer Utopia.
1 -
Meat plant is absolutely not a killer utopia
I can run the killer for 3 gens bare minimum on that safe-ass map

Fr? I feel it's much better for killer. There are much more deadzones, and there are more unsafe than safe pallets.
I'm honestly surprised by this

seeing ormond offerings

Because BHVR doesn't know how to design a Map with Looping in mind since the original game wasn't meant to have looping. This is why still today we're discussing Shift W. Cause Shift W is how the game is supposed to work. Looping isn't a skill it's a matter of wether or not you can hold Shift W on a structure and get away with it. Even with 10 and 15% faster killers the shift W problem is real and it's because Map Design is horrible. It's why BloodLust exists... We wouldn't need Bloodlust if Looping was a fair thing, but if looping was fair then Maps would be well designed.

If you get run around those Rock-Pallets (or even worse, those next to Snowpiles or the Benches), this is on you.
Most Pallets on Ormond are really unsafe.
2 -
Map is terrible for killer, gates spawn are trash, safe spread out gens that take minutes to patrol, worst totem spots ever, good luck playing a slow m1 killer.
1 -
More than half the time I get ormond, it has massive dead zones with all the jungle gyms and pallets being squashed into one area (usually near the shack) making it the only safe area in the whole map. Its just a bad map that needs to be reduced in size and better pallet RNG

it just should be smaller and it would be balanced.

The same reason Haddonfield still exists the way it is. The devs do not understand how their game is played and/or do not care.

What? Ormond pallets are super unsafe. Some of them have literally no purpose.
1 -
Looks at Ormond.....Looks at RCPD.....I will take Ormond.

(Gets Ormond with Huntress) "Ugh, I have zero pressure on a map of this size. I'll play Billy so I don't have this problem next time." (Plays Billy and gets Lerys)- me, every day

For the same reason why The Game was turned into Pallet Town 2.0.
Because The Realm Beyond is a stupid ######### piece of useless #########.

Was gonna say it seems more like a skill issue. I never have any issues with the rock pallets and bloodlust makes those pallets extremely sided towards the killer. Heck majority of the time the killer tries to play the pallet just to bloodlust it.

Ormond is in the middle in terms of map size. Nowhere close to Mothers Dwelling and Shelter Woods.
