Facamping and tunneling zombies? rly?

What is this bs? I've played a game, where a guy was on deathhook with about 20 seconds left and his hook was literally camped by BOTH zombies with no other survivors around. While injured (but uninfected) I had to go for the save but instead of attacking me they attacked the person I unhooked 1 second before so he went down immidiately because of no bt and was tunneled out of the game.

What a fun and interactive game mechanic.

I don't think Zombies are supposed to function like that. Did you make any loud noise? Sure, it attracts the killer. but it also attracts the zombies. They're supposed to go towards any loud noise.

So it sounds like he just got unlucky with their A.I. breaking.

I never have a zombie issue, they always have been extremely reliable.

I feel bad for the people that do, but I'd say just don't be afraid of destroying your own zombies to get them to spawn in a better spot

They’re supposed to move away from hooked survivors, but I think they’re currently a bit buggy. They have a tendency to get stuck walking into rocks or the corner of the map as well. Hopefully the devs will tweak the AI to fix stuff like this.

They can be a pain. I actually got a flashlight save, and damn zombie hit the survivor as soon as their feet hit the ground.

I was sitting on a gen at some distance where I could see (we played on blood lodge where you usally have a good view distance) one zombie walking in the area around the hook. So I waited a little bit for him to leave the area and did gens. After one zombie wasn't that close to hook anymore I went for the unhook, but there were still another zombie behind the rock literally 5 feet close to the hook who downed the rescued survivor.

There were no other survivors around for sure. I run bond and would have seen it.

What you, or your teammates, should have done in this situation is made a loud noise notification. It appears to me as either zombies just don't know what to do when they don't have somebody to walk towards, so they just patrol their same area with wonky pathfinding. A loud noise (should) make the zombies walk towards it.

I don't really know, though. I know they aren't supposed to face camp.

I mean, they are AI. Being mad at AI for face camping or tunneling is like being mad at a vending machine that gets whatever you bought stuck. They didn't do it maliciously like a killer could, because they have no feelings or thoughts to interfere with their coding. I agree it's annoying, but not much can be done unless something is fixed.

I've seen "smart" zombies and "dumb" zombies. I agree the AI is horrible, but never noticed the zombies being attracted to noise. I've just always had to walk them away from what they're camping.

It doesn't require noise. I've seen them camp hooks to the point no one can go to it unless they are willing to take a hit. I've even had one camp me WITHOUT anyone around, I had to 4%, which I did and got downed right away by the zombie that camped because great game design. There is zero reason for a zombie to be up a hook's ass unless its unoccupied. If the killer wants to camp they need to either do it themselves or play twins. I've seen this several times. I've also seen them camp lockers. I had a game where I could not leave a locker because the zombie wouldn't leave, being close enough to hit me on the way out. I get crows on me, I have to take the hit out the locker anyways and get found. The zombies aren't scary or intimidating. They're just annoying. There are many games with great approaches to zombies. This is the worst I've seenYou know what's sad? It even happens on open maps.

Even the AI knows that's the valid play for killers.

What a fun an interactive free kill. Survivors unhooking in front of my free damage mechanic? lmao

I think they are attracted to the scream when you get hooked honestly lol.
