Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

Without perks is it even worth it to search chests?

Honestly without certain perks why do people search chests you’ll most likely get a brown or yellow perk with no add-on. And without a good perk you’ll waste your team’s time by getting a garbage item. I’m starting to think items in a chest should at least come with some add-one.

I've been getting lucky lately and been getting a lot of dull keys

A brown medkit can be worth it. Usually I get a brown toolbox or a green key though, so I don’t bother with chests personally unless I’m running a looting build or in dire straits and praying for a lucky find.

Yes. A brown toolbox gives you better progress on a gen than no toolbox.

The fun part is, when you are last survivor alive, the killer closed hatch and you still can escape because the game gave you a purple key to open the hatch with xD

I search everyone of them. All of them. Each chest I search adds another year to my lifespan.

The Brown Toolboxes and Broken Keys command me!

Yes but even the best toolbox wont compensate the time it takes to loot a chest.

Because rare keys are about as easy to get as a brown medkit

Med kit can heal you when no one is around

Toolbox can come in clutch and help you finish off a gen, especially if you three gen

Toolbox can also save a teammate by allowing you to sabo.

    You can hoard green maps.

I just hope for a medkit or flashlight to help heal and win chases.

If nothing else, you get the points, but like other people have said, brown medkit is better than no medkit.

Handy during AFK killers. But yeah, time wasted on a chest for brown tool box could have been better spent on a gen.

I just hate finding a broken key in a chest, honestly that's probably the only item that should at least come with one add on.

I still find it worth looting. Any med-kit is great and flashlights alone are worth the risk.

I search pretty much every chest, even if I'm already holding an item. The most thrilling one is going for the basement chest, makes me feel like a burglar.

I know I shouldn't be THAT guy but probably still more worth than a killer kicking gens without the proper perks.

Only if you REALLY need a Medkit. Other than that, you should spend all the time on Gens, when you are not being chased or going for an Unhook.

Searching Chests is a waste of time since the Toolbox-Nerf, because you cannot really get good stuff out of it, unless you are really lucky and get a Key. Like, no Toolbox is worth it, because even with a Commodious Toolbox, you cannot compensate the time you wasted for searching the Chest.

So, unless you bring Perks or are really looking for a Medkit or Key (so you hope you are lucky), Chests are a waste of time.
