Those people who want MMR are probably the one who wants to be carried.

This is just my assumption but any High Rank or High Skilled player will never want MMR here in DBD as me and my friends who joins competitive DBD tournaments knows best that High Skill Trials are either gonna be Spirit/Nurse/Blight (Ruin+Undying+Corrupt+BBQ&Chili) vs 4 Man Seal Team Friends (Equipped with the best items with Add Ons).

My Survivor Friends(also joins competitively) don't want to play against Spirit, Nurse and Blight every game in the future while my Killer friends will agree that to stay on high rank you'll need to play these 3 Killers.

I'm noticing that most people that wants the MMR are people that complains about how bad their teammates are or How they want to to know a Killer without getting bullied. My assumption is anyone who wants MMR just wants the game to be carried for them. Maybe as a Survivor before complaining how your teammates are bad, maybe look at how you play first?

I 100% guarantee here that no high skill player want an MMR system here.

Can you win against the following?

    • God Nurse
    • A Spirit with Iri Ring and Purple Amulet
    • Blight with the Alchemist Ring and Blighter Crow

Even if you say you can win against these Three, Can you win every single time as these are what most Killers will probably in High Skill MMR?

On The Killer Side, Can you win against a 4 SWF with UB,DS,DH and BT(every single one of them) with Purple Items(Instaheals) every single time?

These is what it means to be in Highest Top of the MMR for us. It's hard.

what really cool, you can die in as survivor in consecutive 5 match so you will matchmaking with low skill killer

I want mmr because I want to learn new killers. Sweating in games after games in red ranks don't give me time to think about the mistakes I may be making and how I could do things differently as killer. How can I possibly try to learn nurse when frustrations are mounting as gens pop left, right and center and survivors doing whatever they can to heighten those frustrations. You need room to breathe to quickly analyse the mistakes and try different methods.

I don't want new players either, the ones who run to corners of the map and avoids loops at all costs. There is no learning that can be done there either so hopefully the sbmm has some sort of cap that you cannot drop below, also to safeguard newer players too, maybe a certain percentage of your highest mmr killer. Therefore I want to play with people roughly around my skill level, probably a little lower but not too much when picking a new killer, in order to learn effective ways to play them.

As survivor I will admit I am not that good at looping, always misjudging the distance between the killer and the pallet. I would however like games in which the killer is closer to my skill level, not a red rank godlike player in which I most certainly will have to be carried or sacrificed. I am not bothered about escaping as much as not getting downed within 20 seconds of a chase starting, dependant on which killer it is.

I am in favour of the system and hoping bhvr can get it sorted and rolled out as soon as they deem it ready to go fully live.

Another problem is why would you lose MMR or ELO points when Dying? What if you looped the Killer for 5 gens? BHVR will go "Oh dang you looped this killer for 5 Gens and died, oh well here get matched with an even weaker skilled Killer"

Edit: this assumption is based on the current pip system as a Survivor if you looped a Killer for 5 Gens, the maximum BP you would probably get is 15K.

I agree that is the case for now but what would happen in the future when Casual Players turn into Great Players? My idea is that eventually every casual player will turn into a better player where they have to eventually get to High Skill MMR.

during MMR,I was getting all rank 1 and 2 survivors who were the absolute worst players I had ever seen. Truly rank 20 material. I can't express in words just how boosted they were. At least the rank 16s and the greens I came across were clearly trying their best.

Maybe MMR will be the change that separates great rank 1 players and safety pip squatters

Probably because being good at something requires effort and they just dont want to put effort into killing anyone but noobs.

The current system carries me to red ranks just fine, thanks. I just don't want to have to carry my team or play around because the killer is so bad that I'll be stuck in "hold M1 simulator" once they give up due to how unbalanced the trial is, is all.

Surly no high skilled player wants the mmr. Because without mmr, there are two possibilitys: first, they get a match vs an equal skilled opponent, which is basicly the same as people expect from mmr.

However, if not, they usually get a less skilled opponent, turning the game in their favor from the beginning, as they are being carried by the bad matchmaking.

Yes, i know a lot of high skilled players dont want that gone, because bullying an equal skilled opponent is much harder.

I haven't played dbd for 2 months so my survivor rank was 20.

I don't like grinding and the actual ranking system is just a grind. I currently have almost no black pip or lose pip matches (camping and tunneling are so frequent that I have a lot of matches that last 2 minutes out of which 1 and a half is just chasing). Yet, with those matches that I've been playing in the past 3-4 days I'm only rank 15. Guess what, rank reset comes soon and regardless of it I don't have the time and patience to grind for red ranks. I'm not sure but I think you need 85 pips for rank 1. With my current 1 pip per match situation, I need a total of 85 matches to go from rank 20 to rank 1. If a match, with q times added, takes 10 minutes, I need around 14 hours to rank up. However, I also like playing killer so I won't spend all my time playing survivor.

Now, I don't consider myself a rank 20 survivor. That's probably because when my teammates aren't genphobic I have no issue saving my teammates, looping for long periods of time etc. AND escaping. I can also do those things with genphobic teammates, the only issue is that even if I loop for 3 mins straight, the gen counter still sit at 5.

Everytime I've played with SBMM on, I had no issues escaping. I found my teammates being competent and close to my skill level. And same with the killer. Not a swinger baby, not a tunneling camper, not a sweaty god.

EDIT: as a proof to the fact that I don't play this game crazily, with my 1200 hours gained since 2016, I only am level 85 devotion 1. That probably means that in the last 3 years I've barely played the game so I never play enough to reach red ranks.

I want it so theres less of a gap between my games. I hate having to try so hard in my killer game then when I play survivor I get potatoes that throw the game and dont do loops/gens

I want MMR because I want players that take the game as seriously as I do. It really sucks when I'm trying to just do dailies or have fun and those games are the games survivors bring 4 toolboxes with spare parts, Iron Will, BT, DH and someone or two bring Prove Thyself.

The only thing that makes me unconfortable is that we dont know the factors that affects the MMR ranking.

It makes me suspect it's just an excuse to hide ranks, and hide their eternal crap of a matchmaking system they got since release.

The only people MMR benefits are people who are bad at the game, at least in terms of DBD. That's.. most of the community. In my opinion.

If it benefits most of the community I assume you're for it?

If they separated survival with friends and solo Q and gave them their own MMR we would see a complete difference in the game and how fun it is! Let the players that want to be better survivors by playing solo q to have their own game mode! They can still keep the SWF acronym and just call it Sucking With Friends!

The phrase I keep hearing is that being matched against people of equal skill is a punishment for being good. Make of that what you will

Killers run those add-on in solo-queue. It is possible to win depending on how well play individually and how well the team plays. those killers are not the most popular. I believe huntress was #1, Wraith was #2. Just because MMR is coming to the game will not change what people play. A deathslinger main will just play deathslinger and huntress main will just play huntress. Its what their best at.

how am i going to get carried if all my teammates are as bad at the game as me? currently I keep getting carried as survivor to red rank where I don't belong and I keep getting carried into 4ks as killer when i dont deserve them.

This sounds like the opposite to me. You're telling us that you're amazing at the game, but you don't want to play against other people who are amazing, or play a match that's difficult for you, so... who's trying to get an easy win?

That’s a pretty bad take. MMR is for the average player so that they can be grouped with people in their skill level. No x100 hour killer wants to consistently go up against a 4 man swf of collectively several thousand hours. Just as no decent red rank survivor wants to get grouped with a yellow rank who urban evasions across the map to self care. Most of the high level players who don’t want MMR enjoy stomping new players imho.

I'm solo and I think it's a good idea. Better teammates that I don't need to carry or watch hand the killer a 5 gen snowball. I also won't need to consistently face high skilled swf teams that need a nurse/spirit/blight for a challenge( I don't play any of these), I will happily accept less sweaty teams if that's my killer skill limit.

I want it for killers tbh. I get to rank 5 with my best killers but I also don't want to be playing them every time. At those levels tho I am against good survivors and I feel if I jump on a killer I am not as good with (huntress, trickster, myers, ph) then I am woefully outmatched :<

It will be nice to jump on my weaker killers and go against lower skilled survivors so I can actually practice instead of being bullied.

  • woundcowboy
    woundcowboy Member Posts: 1,994

Because the game is imbalanced and broken at a high level. A skilled killer will not get more than 1-2 kills against skilled survivors.

  • woundcowboy
    woundcowboy Member Posts: 1,994

No perks solve the problem. The devs would have to balance for people who put in time to learn how to play, which is something that they and many people on this forum are unwilling to do.
