MMR is working well for me, at least in terms of killers. Teammates are still kinda crappy, but the killers are definitely on my level.

I wouldn't say they are not capable.
I would say this game is not designed for SBM.
As survivor so much of your "skill" is dependent on your teammates. Hard to build a solid skill rating when you have to play around others misplays.
As killer, it's similar. You are judged on your reaction to the skills of your competitors. Which will be like the tides in the oceans, up and down.

In my experience with plenty of competitive, mmr will never save you from garbage teammates. They usually "balance" matches by putting a carry with deadweight. So it becomes a game of whose carry is better, or which deadweight throws less. Rofl.

I actually have a theory about the sweaty killer thing, after my matches today.
In normal times, I match with such sweaty survivors that I have to play as hard as I can just to get a few hooks before I lose. Now that SBMM is turned on, I think what's happening with some of my games is that I'm matching with people who are potatoes like me, but because I'm used to having to play at maximum effort, I am now the sweatiest person in the match.
I think MMR is designed to sort that out after you play a few matches, so we'll see if it goes away over the rest of the week.

If this ends up being the case then the killers job will largely become identifying the deadweight quickly and getting them out of the game since gens take no skill really but chasing does.
Good killers already do this, but if there is an obvious deadweight that will definitely be the new winning strategy.

The thing is I don't mind going against a good killer I just want my team to work and be productive. I hate when you loop for a bit and nothings done.

Realized that most people want MMR? Yes, they did.
Real talk: How much different do you think MMR is going to be from the current system? It's an expansion of the current system, if anything. It takes more metrics into account, but instead of working off a pip/depip system that we already knows is heavily flawed and can be exploited, it instead gives you a number that's more or less equivalent to what can be called "skill", then matches you with people of similar "skill".

Survivor games have gotten so screwed on my end. I'm usually matching with killers that I can run for like 2-3 minutes (that almost never happened before), but I'm also matching with survivors who just do laps around the map with urban evasion instead of working on gens, so in the end I usually die anyway.

Now explain me, how do you calculate skill? How do you put skill into a single number? What is the equation? I know MMR goes up when you win and down when you lose, but what is considered a "win" and "lose" for survivors by this system? You are so sure of it you must know, so care to tell?

Those concepts are not related at all. I can understand the general concept of an MMR without knowing the specifics of the highly complex (and likely proprietary) algorithm that goes into making the calculations.
I can expand on what I'd consider fair bets of how it works, but they'd be my guesses based on how I would do it, and would just be general statements, with no actual math involved.

Group survivors together by play time and how often they hit coloured ranks. If there's a survivor with like 10 hours play time then match them with the like. If there's a red rank killer with like a 1000 hours then match with survivors with that experience. Also emblems, if there are survivors who get lots of points for alterisim and objectives then it shows they are productive and know the game well and should be matched with the like.

If you don't know what is a "win" for the MMR system - this system is useless, since you don't know what you have to do in order to "win". Imagine it works the same way as pips (and there is a great chance it does so), meaning you have to farm unhooks, gens, chases and THEN escape in order to "do good" for the MMR. If you just loop the killer for 5 gens and then escape - you will then lose your MMR without even knowing it. You will be sure you did good, but the game decided you wasn't good enough and decreases your MMR, putting you with worse teammates in the next game. It's nonsense and it can't be called "the the system works as intended", because it doesn't: it clearly uses wrong metrics, making MMR inconsistent. This is why every game in the universe that uses MMR makes it crystal clear how MMR is calculated, so that players can see it's working correctly. DbD in the only exception in the history of mankind in this regard, because the devs want to hide it in case it doesn't work, so that they don't have to deal with complaints. This is why MMR is good, but hidden and obfuscated MMR is horrible.

Right now they are only testing the system. Also since I see it a lot on the forums, dbd is supposedly a casual game so it shouldn't really make a difference what constitutes a win. Just play the game and you'll likely get matched with people who play similarity to you.

I wouldn't hold my breath for an explanation as to how it works. As I recall, it's been stated that if and when this system goes into effect they have no intention of telling us how it works because the instant they do, people will start finding ways to game it so they get to be matched up with who they want/who they think they should be matched with instead of what the math says.

best case scenario- MMR shows devs how terrible gameplay is at higher ranks. And they get on top of fixing the issues and create a better game.

The SBMMR works perfectly fine. At least for me. Playing both sides solo.
So maybe its a you problem. Maybe you did something in the past weeks that made the game give you a certain matchmaking score, so you get matched with players above your skill level.

But it doesn´t PERMANENTLY skyrockets you. If OP got carried by his friends and escaped far more matches than he deserved, over a prolonged time. Then the system will obviously give him a higher score.
Once he keeps losing, the score will lower and he finally will reach the point of his actual skill.
So that doesn´t contradict itself.

I really don't want this MMR. It's horrible.
As you say it's matching me with others in my skill level. That's a joke right?
Is my skill level hiding in bushes, scared from repairing gens, DC on first down, sacrifice on first hook, scared from unhooking another survivor, facing the killer for 2 seconds or not even try to tank a hit on gate? That's exactly my experience with this great MMR. It's horrible, nothing more. Playing surv solo is horrible. I can't enjoy this and wait until this MMR is finally closed and I can play finally NORMAL rounds with good survivors.
I had now around 30 matches over the test time maybe more and I had only 3 or 4 matches that were fun. Very balanced rounds. Not much right? This is in my eyes a absolute joke. Maybe you can explain me why this MMR is so frustrating?
Do I play not enough? Is my "skill" too high that I get matched with potatoes?
I could always climb up to the red ranks 3 or 4 as a solo survivor. Last time I hit Rank 2 and was close to 1 but not enough time to play. But now it's not possible for me.
There is a "potato" wall and say to me "no, you are stuck on rank 7, because your skill is not good enough for a higher rank"
So I have to wait until 17th august right?

Looks like each's experience is difference. What you didnt get doesnt mean she's joking about what she has.
MMR is also feel more fair to me. Eventhough Im red rank but its just because I do Gen real hard, Im nowhere close as a good chaser. Most match are 2K which is totally fair.

I COULD be wrong but I recall it being said before that they were collecting data for a considerable length of time so it could hit the ground running. It hit the porcelain not the ground.
