Normal ranking system is back. How is it treating you?

Unfortunately MMR is gone and the old ranking system is back.
I was having quite good team mates with the MMR.
This is my first game with the old ranking system back:
Guess solo Q is back to the shitshow it used to be.

I will miss solo but i wont miss those killer match they were awful and i realise i really need to learn spirit or nurse for when the mmr is back
5 -
Couldn't tell you. Not playing again until the next test. I was worried I may be spoiled if I tried it but now I don't want to go back to how it is normally.
7 -
Survivor was no different for me: bad teammates and Ruin+Undying+Tinkerer Blight or Spirit most matches.
As for killer, I had an easier time with lesser played killer such as Ghostface, but for Demo and Bubba, the killers I play more often, I constantly had 4-man groups and more often than not found myself on Haddonfield or Coldwind.

Same garbage as before SBMM.
6 -
Maps and gen speeds are the same with Ranking system or MMR.
3 -
I didn't even think of being spoiled tbh. I was having good teams finally, even though a lot more camping killers, but I'd rather have a camping killer every match than a bad team.
This is actually awful I might end up having to wait for the next test as well.

So you don't want quality survivors you want to go against noobs?
1 -
Nope, you don't have to learn Nurse or Spirit for high mmr. Each killer you own has its own mmr. Your Trapper has a different mmr than your Nurse.
It is not like now that your account is in red ranks and that's it.
If you never played Nurse, your Nurse will have a very low mmr. If you practice your Nurse and get better, the mmr of your Nurse will go up. But this will not influence the mmr on your Trapper - just a little bit because there is a base mmr for all your killers. Actually, if you get better at Nurse it will propably raise your Trapper mmr a tiny little bit because your average mmr will go up.

I miss it already. My solo queue experience is exactly the same as yours and killer went back to the "will I stomp or get stomped" roulette.
5 -
Many of my games during the test looked like that so I don't see it as any different. I would get 8000 hour survivors in one match and 250 hour survivors in my next. If I had good survivors we destroyed the killers unless it was a tinkerer, ruin, undying blight, a couple cracked spirits and a few other exceptions. I also think one shot build wraiths felt very hard to beat. If I got crap survivors, we were against the sweatiest killers that proxy camped every hook and immediately tunneled off hook and the other two survivors were usually crouched behind a tree waiting to save instead of punishing the camp and pounding out gens.
I don't know how if it is matching to skill I could have such extreme games. Why with rank, especially during the climb, you can get those extreme games, but usually it is much rarer for me. Especially once I get to rank 1. Most games are more the in between type for me on rank based. And the rainbow ranks you run into isn't because the match making to ranks doesn't work, it's because queue time are usually long for one side and it opens up. I think they could really just tweak how people rank with the current system to keep potatoes out of red rank a little better and this match making would be fine.

SBMMR was absolute garbage for me.
Survivors were always varied, because let's face it, sometimes you want to play chill, but I cannot describe the level of troll and moronity (no idea what the word is) in sbmmr matches.
Killer matches same thing but different problem, I don't want to finish the match in 3 minutes and have every single match be like that. Before, it was the first 2 matches per killer then low hours rank 1s and then proper games.
1 -
A lot of killers besides spirit/nurse don't seem to be having that issue with pressure.
Sure haddonfield is annoying, but otherwise I think most maps are balanced, unless you're playing a killer like Billy on an indoor map.
I do have to ask you this, what is a good game for you? a 4k?

Im getting potatoes in my team again.
Great.
2 -
Same as you, had really good teammate quality during MMR.
Now back to well, ...this.
3 -
I didn't notice much difference with or without it.
I didn't play much tho so maybe it wasn't enough to compare.

I was maining Nemesis i played him non stop from the release date to now and most of my match during the mmr the survivor use 1 of those 2, map offering (haddonfield and red forest) or key with hatch offering.
I lost the majority of my game and i dont feel like my mmr drop at all. That why i say my experience as killer was awful it may be because i play after midnight and we have less killer during that period.
At the end i realise the way mmr is for killer i need to learn a better killer sadly i dont like playing nurse, spirit and blight.
4 -
With SBMM i lost my rank, got slugged and tunneled a lot.
Okayish teammates and annoying killers, you know how some killers choose to play..
Now the games are bearable but getting matched with new survivors.
0 -
I also got a lot of camping killers but I'd rather go against a camping killer with good team mates who actually are useful than going against a killer who doesn't camp + 3 dead weights
0 -
Really? :o how do you choose to deal with campers? I don't know what i dislike more, camping or tunneling.
0 -
IMO with camping the best thing you could do is to not be the one who is found first. That goes for tunneling too. If someone else gets caught first and is being camped/tunneled, I just push on gens and hope the others do the same. With MMR I saw way more team mates actually doing gens in that scenario.

Same with my game.
When i play with a friend i have a habit of rescuing them with BT and taking their place. . i never learn against campers.

Much better playing solo queue today. Games are lasting longer than 4 minutes and I'm getting killers other than Blight and Nurse
0 -
If you dont mind me asking which rank are you?
Because it's the complete opposite for me. I dont mind going against nurse and spirit and blight if I have a good team
0 -
Happy it's back. My games are fun again, as opposed to the de facto tourney scrims I was getting on SBMM.
3 -
what do you play tho? solo q?
0 -
Boring on killer and solo queue is back to being unplayable. I was having to actually try on killer with SBMM and I was getting matched with really good teammates in solo. Hope it comes back soon.
2 -
Survivor feels a lot worse. I was actually starting to have it grow on me a lot. Killer though im very happy about, killer is much less miserable to play already.
1 -
Honestly it feels the same, just now I can see the randoms/killers rank. During the sbmm test I had matches where I could've taken screen shot just like yours and others where we totally dominated the match. It was very inconsistent.
0 -
I was rank 8 during the SBMM test. And I was totally unable to leave it, as my games were harder than usual.
Usually, I'm rank 4/5. With the reset, I was back to 9, went back to 8, and I was stuck.
Now, I'm back to rank 6.
The thing is... During SBMM, I had Killers who were way too experienced for me but bad teammates. Now, I have Killers close to my skill level and teammates who are OK.
As a Killer, it was... Weird. I never play Killer, so my MMR was probably very low, but I've got strong Survivors, with usually a weak link but who got protected at all costs. Like, there always was someone to accompany the weak link. I guess I was against SWF who took a low MMR guy with them to have a good time against bad Killers like me. My highest Killer is level 45, the second highest is level 20. Rest is level 10 for having their three teachables slotted.
I've played Nurse and Demo for a daily, I haven't played them for something like five months. And I don't know what's wrong with me, but I still don't understand how to use Demo's portal.

Just got a game where one is dead, 2 gens left to go, and i manage to do one gen completly alone, while the killer always comes back to me...no sign of the other 2 dudes, other than one of them getting hit constantly, and heals up. the third, as i see when i lay down, is just hidding at the hatch (which i found earlier), hidding there with one gen left to do and 3 people still alive...
Thats now normal rank matchmaking is to me.
0 -
Back to how it was. I was playing demogorgon who i have no good perks for and i was getting stomped because i am rank 4.
0 -
3 since we just reset. Usually 1-2 on both sides.
0 -
One match I'm wondering if I accidentally wandered into a tournament match, and the next I get matched with people that've never held a controller before.

It's THAN not THEN.

I miss MMR already. Solo queue had never been so good having competent team mates.
3 -
Can’t tell if I’m being paired with potatoes or idiots, since they’re doing things like hiding in the basement locker and healing under the hook the killer is carrying me to. (Yes, they did get downed and I still got hooked.)

K0ol Stury grahmurr nahzee.

Vast majority solo queue with occasional duos on survivor, though I play survivor/killer 50/50. My survivor games were either the killer getting curb-stomped (2 hooks or less) or us getting destroyed at 5 gens. In killer games, gens flew so fast that I felt forced to tunnel and camp just to have a chance at winning, but I hate playing scummy so they were stressful, hollow victories. And if I played any of the weaker or average killers I basically had to accept an auto-loss. I don't want to have to play Nurse, Spirit, and Blight every game just to possibly be able to get a 4k. SBMM was so, so unfun for me. Like, contemplating quitting unfun, and I don't throw that around lightly.
1 -
So, now it is more fun to you, because you get unbalanced matches in your advantage instead of more balanced matches. Do i get this right?
1 -
That was gonna be what every killer would be doing once they hit their personal mmr ceiling btw, since the game isn't balanced and probably will never be balanced for five players of comparable skill... and pallets just went survivor-sided and a decent map for slower killers is going the way of the dodo in a couple of months too so get used to this while you still have reasonable queue times since come february I'm sure The Evil Dead game is gonna pull at least some killers if not also survivor players off of this unpolished turd. in before ban

I'll miss the system, i was having great matches as killer

I’m much happier playing solo survivor with it off. Went from Ruin/Undying/Tinkerer every match with killers who would camp their first catch and then immediately tunnel off hook, which may be understandable but absolutely killed my desire to keep playing. I’m back to running meme builds again and I’ve faced killers running all kinds of dumb perks - I actually played against someone running Cruel Limits, lmao. Teammates are a little more green (literally, a lot of green and yellow rank teammates) but they’re all sweet in end game chat and saving me from the hook so I can’t ask for much more.
As killer I don’t know, I usually get a decent number of good teams with map offerings and MMR didn’t seem too different. A little easier, maybe. I don’t think my killer MMR is super high though since I almost always let one person escape.
I think this experiment taught me that I don’t actually want MMR in the game. I had an open mind about it before but I think if it comes, I’ll have to stop playing DBD because it’s unbearably unfun when it’s that sweaty. Maybe if I were in a 4 man I’d think differently but I just found it dull and frustrating. The unpredictability of the game is half the fun for me, it seems.

Beautifully. I get to play many more matches now. Because as a solo Q I'm getting matched to red rank killers so I'm in and out in about 3 to 4 minutes lol Oh well, back to normal I guess
0 -
Well I've had a lot less of hook camping and tunneling baby killers so that's a plus. Haven't tried killer que yet did some survivor earlier to get another one of my challenges crossed off.
0 -
I want it back on
0 -
Well my first game after mmr I get 2 level 17s and a level 13 for teammates. I'm a rank 4! Mmr was nice but harder and I liked that.
1 -
I prefer mmr. The arguments against it are absolutely horrible, I care about game quality more than tryhards who do not want to put the effort into trying hard.
4 -
Killer is fun to play again
0 -
My issue with it is I always got the baby killers with it who would face camp or tunnel you constantly. As killer it was a bit of a mix either got sweaty SWF groups or survivors who weren't that great so that was a bit of a coin toss on killer end for me.

as killer easier, way less good survivors, as survivor miserable solo q experience wich was the reason why i quite solo q and play only with my friends.
