Why does PH come when you open the box?
I thought in the movies he comes when you solve the box & then they take you to hell, but also how is that even fair in lore if you even touch the box your screwed. What's the point of solving it, if they come either way?

It's the Entity's way of translating the Cenobites' powers into its own physical realm. It's kinda cool, and it's an undeniable ode to the films. I love it.

Once the box is opened, the Cenobites tend to be VERY protective of you fiddling with it on account of it being able to also send them back. If you are their target and you close it, you escape.

We aren't gonna mention Trapper? He can wear a welding mask and still get blinded.
Welding masks being a piece of equipment designed expressly so that you can look into intensely bright lights and not get blinded.

Ah yes, because Leatherface always came with an ear-pounding heartbeat that followed him everywhere he went, Meyers was always completely nonlethal until he got at least two hooks or stared at laurie long enough while carrying a tombstone, and OH how could I have forgotten about that time that Amanda Young, a.k.a the Pig, TOTALLY used the hidden wrist blade that was used only by Jigsaw himself and only that one time in the first movie...
Short answer? They needed to make the killer functional throughout the whole match, not just if the survivor decided to solve the cube.

I actually solved that. We know the demogorgon can see at least, as its head tracks its prey in the series (i think, been a while since i watched). My theory was the petals on it's face are light sensitive and acts somewhat as vision. Shining a light in them burns and blinds him, causing the defensive stun posture and blindness.
This however I have no clue about.
