Can we talk about the Lingering tech, from Nemesis?
Yes, it's still in the game. Apparently, survivors don't like this tech.
It's one of the most disgusting bugs / "techs" I've ever seen in DBD. I would say how to do it.... but... I really don't want to go against it...

explain please.

Guess I'm forced to, hah?
To give context.
Nemesis can strike with the whip forward. Now, he can slide either left or right. When he slides, the hit lingers.
SO, you can pull something like this
- Youi're chasing a survivor but he gets to a pallet, but you can't strike him with the whip. So.... You look at the wall, slide towards the pallet and the range & hit of the whip will carry over to the pallet, hitting the survivor in the process or breaking the pallet if no contact is made.
Mind you... this is just one example of what you can do with this tech.

Is that where the tip of his tentacle hits you near the end of his whip animation? Idk why people would want it removed since thats how whips work
13 -
It's not the tip, it's the entire damn thing.

I think it’s perfectly fine, seeing as how if you’re using your tentacle to hit survivors then you need to go through 3 health states. Nemmy aint a strong killer.

The hitbox is janky as hell, it never bothered me too much since its very thin in general but i wouldn't call it a "tech." the hitbox does linger somewhat, but its so minuscule that you'll have to miss incredibly close to them to slide over and damage them. Plus its incredibly unreliable, which makes it less of a tech and more of an inconsistent bug.

True, but the amount of edge this tech can give you is pretty insane. Survivors never expect it & it removes some counter-play from him.
1 -
It looks like the survivors are walking towards it rather than the length extending to hit them.

Eh, it’s basically the same as dodging a huntress hatchet. The hitbox of that hatchet extends a bit past the visual space it occupies. Besides, Nemmy’s whip is a very small hitbox and not long range.
2 -
Ehh as far as I know, that's intended feature. The tentacle attack is very thin and easy to dodge so devs put in a 0,333s attack hit time while the tentacle is out to give some further control to nemesis for landing his hits with it.
I don't see what's wrong with it. You can only feel "robbed" out of your dodge if you don't know about it existing which everyone does (it's even spelled out as part of his kit in the DBD wiki) so just loop and move acording to that knowledge.
It's not like huntress when sometimes it hits you when the hatches is nowhere near you other times it goes directly through without doing any damage. The lingering is consistent and always work exactly the same, as I said, it's part of his kit.

You forgot the damn thing is 5m / 6m long at T1,2 & T3

Still not a long range attack, and requires 3 health states to down a nsurvivor.

his tentacle is already unforgiving and brutal, this just makesit a bit bearable

This happens with killer M1 attacks too. If you lunge and continue to hold the button down you can spin around and still hit the survivor and damage them even though the swing animation has ended. It is that the hit box of the weapon lingers after the swinging part of the animation is complete. I'm not sure if this is by design or just something they overlooked and don't think is a big deal. When you get hit with those as a survivor it looks like a bad hit. And before someone says "if you spun around with a knife in your hand it would cut someone if you hit them", not all weapons are knives in the game. Doctor has a bat, Myers has a pipe. It would be cool if it adjusted from a survivor standpoint. It might make 360s easier though.

It needs to stay.
4 -
Yeah cause every killer released since Oni has been called the "weakest killer in the game" until suddenly people realize they just need to get better at playing them. Without fail every update its the same song and dance.

I'm pretty sure it's intended. Either way I'm happy that Nemesis has his own tech, he deserves it.

It makes Nem a lot better and I think it should stay, it just needs to be visually communicated a lot better.
After all, from the survivor's perspective, they made the correct play and very clearly dodged the whip, only to get punished for it. It does not look like it should have a lingering hitbox-- it's a whip-- but it does.
4 -
Wait, is this referring to strafing after sending out the whip to get a little more side-action? 'Cause I like that, it's something I can do on console. I use it a lot to correct my aim; I even have to use it when striking zombies, because I apparently can't tell where the exact center of my TV screen is.
I hope it's not unintended. It getting patched out would suck.

Eh? How am I complaining?
I play Nemesis and use the same tech.
Wanted to see other's thoughts on it.

How is a lingering hitbox a tech?
0 -
Dude that's less distance then a lunge(6 meters) before T3 and the same as a lunge at T3.
2 -
I think it's fine. Nemesis is really bad as it is. He gives survivors 8 free health states just to be able to use his power.
