Question for console players who have consistent lag issues

What console are you on? And is your game installed on a Hard Disk Drive(HDD) or a Solid State Drive(SSD)?

    We have two PS4s. Mine is a slim and my wife's is older and not a pro.

    I installed SSD on mine some time ago and it's a night and day difference.

    She still has a lot of stuttering where I do not. It's not perfect and the framerate on my PC makes the game a lot more enjoyable when I am able to play there, but yeah, it's how the HDD is used that seems to cause a lot of the issue, imho.

    So if you've got what, $150 or so? It was worth it to me.

    I play on PS4 SLIM 500gb with a HDD and i suffer everytime with freezing, lag, drop fps since RE release. After mid chapter update at 07/27 the most part of problems were solved, but, after 5.1.1 these problems come back again, and, unfortunelly, come back worse than before. Now, i have freezing for literally 2 or 3 s for exausthion perks, vaccine, unhooks, killer insticnt, and L2 power and others. These problems still when i play as survivor. Im very sad with all this. 2 months and we dont have solutions. I want change for pc, but i have 3k hours and a lot things in my acc and i'll dont put in to the trash and star again. 5 Years and optimization never was a priority, now, we suffer for this. Its very dissapoiting at moment.

    I have a PS4 Pro and I’m using a SSD (Samsung 870 EVO 250 GB). Game is running very good now!

    Regular PS4, HDD.

    Constant freezes and lag.

    Lag issues as far as I know from me and my friends is:

    Xbox one (all storage options)

    Xbox one s (all storage options)

    Xbox one X (not as bad, still happens)

    Ps 4 (all storage options)

    Cant say about any other consoles, doesnt get frame issues on the series S/X as I upgraded awhile back

    (lag and stutter due to bugs and actual game issues still occur but that's a game issue not hardware)

    PS5, SSD

    Performance is barely tolerable

    PS4 Pro with the 1TB HDD. And except for DbD I haven't encountered weird stutters, freezes and lag spikes like these. In any other game from my library.


    So despite reading about the "presumable SSD fix" it is not happening in my case. Because I don't need it for any other friggin' game. Thus I am not buying a bloody SSD for the console just for bloody DbD.

    PS4 Slim with HDD. A lot of the RE chapter problems were solved, but exhaustion perks, Sloppy Butcher and sometimes even unhooks lag my game. I always have to restart my game after 3~4 matches or else it becomes unplayable.
