Oblivious
I think most people can agree that this "debuff" is almost if not completely useless! So I have been thinking, with the new PTB and how the main downside to not doing the side objective is obliviousness, it came to me (KEKW!) Why not make this debuff counter any and all detection perks (not aura reading stuff) such as spine chill, premonition (who tf uses this idk) etc. The debuff itself implies that you aren't paying attention to anything so I feel like countering things like spine chill would be a great way to buff this effect without making it stupid or outright nerfing things like spine chill.

I agree 100%

I agree that it would be a nice change and a way to deal with spine chill without goofilly walking like a crab
I disagree that oblivious is a bad status effect though. It just hard to see the vallue from the killers perspective.
Survivors can use the terror radius amping up to locate you and thanks to that can do the whole run away as soon as possible to create loads of distance strats.
Taking that away can really reduce the distance a survivor can make, it doesn't always need to give you free hits for it to have vallue. It can be the difference of having to follow a survivor for 20 seconds before they have to loop a pallet and them needing to use the closest pallet available.

Not that Oblivious is useless, but that sounds kinda cool.
Gives it an additional thing that Undetectable doesn't. (Even though avoiding Spine Chill is really easy & Premonition doesn't even seem to exist anymore.)

I mean, OOO was already destroyed. Let the Blendettes have their Spine Chill.

That definitely sounds like a good idea! If you go against survivors who know how to pan around and look then they can very easily spot you depending on the map, which I feel makes it kind of useless to a point at least when going against anyone other than newbies.

Blindness is the real useless debuff.
Oh no, you can't see auras, except for killer specific auras, like jigsaw boxes, or hooked survivors except for their scream bubble. This doesn't even factor in SWFs and external communication.
Also Hemmorage, you bleed more. Rarely do I think "You know, I could have tracked that survivor better if they bled more"

Oblivious is not useless. Just by virtue of hiding the red stain, it makes a killer deadlier in several tiles. It also makes it a lot easier for you to creep closer to survivors and prevent them from gaining distance before the chase even starts. Some killers use M&A for that same purpose.
What makes oblivious seems useless to killers is unless you're very conscious of your build it's easy to lose track of survivors that are affected by it, unlike undetectable that provides the visual effect. A simple way to fix that would be some HUD effect on survivors' portraits that alert the killer who's suffering from oblivious.

I don't think Oblivious is all that useless, it's just a bit situational.
What annoys me is that killers like Demo and Oni still make giant clomping footstep sounds that survivors hear from a mile away when they gain Undetectable. Yet Nemi loses his footstep sounds. This should be standard for all killers.

You do realize that a survivor needs to be able to survive right? Removing sight on the jigsaw boxes pretty much kills a survivor as they would need to check every single chest spawn location for the boxes. The exact same reason DS doesnt deactivate while you open a gate, or why you can open a gate while in madness 3(there are some mechanics in the game that kinda contradict this view, but whatever).
Besides, blindness has actually won me games. Literally. Sure, the scream bubble still appears, but the scream bubble is the same size regardless of location. Meaning you know which direction the survivor is in, not how far they are in that direction. Apply that to a map with lots of corners(crotus penn got me a 4k in red ranks because survivors couldnt find their teammate in time). Let alone that blindness works wonders with Trail of Torment.
Blindness is better than you think, the only issue about blindness is that there are barely any ways to applicate it, and most ways to actually applicate it are rather useless. Third Seal is the best blindness in the game, and that perk is outdated. If Third Seal was applied to all survivors from the start of the match, it would actually be an amazing perk. The fact that you have to m1 every single survivor once makes it a bad hex. The fact that Blindness is so hard to apply makes it feel useless, but dont underestimate it's power.
Brass Lighter and Rust Colored Egg(and maaaaybe Smiley Pin since you are likely to change targets and not chase the person) are by far the best addons in the game for blindness. The rest of the addons are kinda useless because the survivor generally is being chased, and having blindness during chase isnt really worth it.
Let alone that haemmorrhage is pretty much like the perk Predator: it makes it easier to locate where the survivor has gone if the track is confusing. I've had haemmorrhage give me plenty of downs. It's not an effect worth a slot on its own, though, only if it's combined with another effect(coughcoughTrappercoughcough). Essentially, having haemmorrhage on top of mangled is nice, having haemmorrhage on top of a broken status is nice, having haemmorrhage on top of deep wounds is nice.

As far as I'm aware, oblivious does not hide the red stain. It just removes the terror radius.
On the wiki, it specifically mentions that the red stain is lost whilst undetectable. Meanwhile, oblivious is said to only block the terror radius. As such, oblivious is indeed significantly weaker then undetectable in almost every way.

Honestly Oblivious and Blindness status effects should go together.

This would be a really cool buff to oblivious! Would also give oblivious and undetectable some difference from eachother

Yes yes yes 100%.
Spine Chill needs a counter. As much as I love the perk this change would be amazing!!!

Your practically saying you wanna buff Oblivious status to "Undetectable" status.
My only thing is that if you think Spine Chill shouldn't work while Oblivious, than do the same thing to Undetectable status

Oblivious is a status effect on the survivor, undetectable is a buff on the killer, while they have effects that are close in relation they serve different purposes, one is a buff the other a debuff. I personally think undetectable is fine as is, survivors have little to no control over the killer getting this buff but they do have some control over the debuff which is why I think adding it to oblivous would be okay but not undetectable.
I want the debuff to have more impact, spine chill currently counters all forms of steal be it debuffs or buffs which ruins some styles of play. I don't want spine chill nerfed I just want there to be a counter so killers can run different playstyles over the typical gen slow down crap. It's about promoting different styles of play not nerfing something.

I always wondered if I'm undetectable how come spine chill detects me?

Would make for some rewarding counter play that requires more effort than just equipping a perk.

Why nerf a decent perk?
Why instead of asking for nerfs? Why don't you folks have the same energy to ask for the 90% of niche/useless perks to get buffed? Anyway this would be a nerf to spine chill. Just look sideways if you are planning on using the perk.
Believe me spine chill is not as great as you think it is, It does not tell you where the person is coming from.

It's not just them that use the perk. I like the perk because I don't have to pay 100% attention. Since I like to hear my podcast in the background or my tv shows. It's not some crazy tell all perk that them folks wanna make it out to be. You know they may be coming but you don't know where they are coming from, the effect is useful for killers since us spine chill users still have to keep an eye open since one does not know if they are passing by, or if they are not. Anyway if they just walk side way they can still sneak up since one can't hear the heartbeat. It's 100% possible to get spine chill users if they just walk sideways. And as usual people wanna nerf the already limited amount of perks available in the game, as if we had dozens of useful perks 🙄.

Even if that change was implemented, oblivious would still be useless against certain killers like Demogorgon, Nemesis, Oni etc.

Nerfing spinechill would only hurt newbies, I remember using it in my first 100 hours after which I switched it out for other perks. Besides I rarely see people use it at red ranks other than for the vault speed build.
