tricksters power

how or what are you supposed to do against those lacerating blades? lol im not new to dbd but everyone slowly but surely went down or died in some cases one survivors own not listening to their surroundings but flat out in the open trying to run and dodge and weave to be practically instadowned with no way of escaping. to then by the killer be hit on hook throwing the blades at me. you sure showed me when i was going for an adept achievement with quentin ... lol. talk about boring or it seems no actual counter than down in a matter of seconds

Yes. Trickster's power is strong out in the open. Just like every killer power in the game, with the exception of the trap killers.

In general, high wall loops counter trickster the most. Also, just, do gens as fast as you can. BHVR made the worst possible decision when buffing him by making him downright impressive in 1v1 while giving him probably the worst map pressure in the game, next to Deathslinger.

yeah this map grim pantry literally all in the open not much i could do lol. yeah its ridiculous 1 v1 couldnt do a thing i play killer but his power is a load of bollocks in that situation lol

  • Break line of sight as much as possible. He will eventually run out of knives, you can use that opportunity to run away.

You want to loop him a bit like how you loop Huntress and Myers. Avoid letting him get direct line of sight to you in a chase to stop him from being able to throw knives at you, go towards loops and areas with corners and high walls instead of open areas, and don't throw down pallets early if he can see you. Wait around the corner for him to come through the pallet, then run back and stun him.

Trickster is very slow and needs to reload very often, so you can loop him for quite a while assuming you play smart and keep to high wall loops and avoid letting him physically see you. He shreds survivors who are in deadzones or who are grouping up next to him, a bit like Bubba.

By not running into the massive open swamp.

Grim Pantry has lots of other loops you can use - the Pantry itself, the whole area around the shack, the pier, the smaller building and the connected jungle gym. All of these are extremely powerful against Trickster, and have generators that spawn in them, and are all connected to the main swamp area. Plus, Trickster's starved for lockers in that center area, so even there you can still get away by removing his ability to reload.

Judging by your tone, this sounds less like a "how do I counter Trickster?" and more like a "waaaaa Trickster OP he downs me in the open so unfair" post.

Welcome to the new killer designs of dbd. Realisticly you don't have any serious counterplay and you will just die over time. But if your teammates split up, do gens separeted and use any initial chase distance they can get to keep distance to those killers you'll be fine. That's what we call an fun and interactive gameplay for both sides. yay.

As opposed to looping an M1 killer for 5 gens then leaving with maybe three total hooks?

Are you even reading or just searching for a fight?

Man you guys with your entilted role are the real issue in this game. I'm literally telling that as a Survivor a Trickster is boring to go against bc you can't win through mindgames, game knowledge, experience - you will die no matter what. There is no interaction, no real skill involved on both sides. And instead you have to keep a huge initial chase distance, split up and do gens the efficient way. Tell me how fun is that as a Killer? Holding W for an hour to get to the survivor and after you downed him without really doing sth skillful you have to run 4.4 over the whole map to one Survivor that does the exact same while the others just fly through the gens.

Everything you care about is your entilted role as Killer "Yea you can't loop him, get that!" oh wow. "I'm gonna w shift and ruin your game, get that?"

You really have to learn that a Killer needs a interactive skill based chase mechanic that still has a good amount of counterplay through game knowledge and experience and mindgames. While he's also able to create map pressure by sth that's not oppressive. A killer who needs more or less practise to get good to a point where you fly through casuals and even win against efficient teams.

But what ever. You can stay in your black and white world while we, the others, see the things as a whole, searching for answers that are healthy for all and not just for your own entilted ego.
