Trickster is good if the right player is using him
I know that trickster is known to be "a trash killer" tier, but I always get at least 3k with this dude, I find him really easy to maneuver and overall, I don't think he was so bad. I think the reason why everyone was so quick to label him was that he's not op'ed or absolute garbage. He requires genuine skill and stamina, which may be upsetting to some but this is just my personal opinion!! Id like to hear some thoughts or opinions from u guys :)

I've definitely gone up against Tricksters that were great because their aim is amazing. If you don't have amazing aim, though, he's not the easiest to get used to.

'Trickster is good if he's played with mouse and keyboard' Should be the title. Recoil and lower sensitivity he's bad on console compared to other options.

I play on mobile too, I still find him simple to use there. Again I always get at least 3ks the game goes down the drain when you get sweaty fingers tho lol and well on console... eh yk console things

to be honest mobile probably has easier aim then console

Def right

I think I've got close to 100 hours with him and he is definitely nasty the better you are with your aim.

The hook standoffs can be pretty fun during the EGC with him as well.

He's definitely a lot stronger than most people give credit for, it's just the fact that he suffers from pre-4.7.1 Blight Syndrome, where he's difficult to enjoy on console.
He's definitely fun on PC though.

Against survivors with a collective brain, Trickster is bad. It's not a matter of "a really good player can dominate" because no amount of practice with your blades can stop survivors who just stick to tiles with high walls, or who split up on gens. He is the slowest killer in the game - Nurse has her blinks for mobility, and Trickster has to constantly reload at lockers much more often than Huntress, alongside slowing himself down a lot and downing survivors very slowly at any tile that isn't a low wall tile. He has no map pressure. Even his chase isn't great if the survivors know how to play around it, unlike Deathslinger who has a much better chase power AND built-in stall AND no lullaby.
Of course you can perform well with him - many survivors don't know how to counter Trickster and will readily run in straight lines and try to loop him at Ormond bench tiles - but tierlists and strength rankings are based on how they perform against good survivors. And against good survivors, or heck, decent survivors, Trickster will underperform.
He's a bit like Legion - Legion is a very bad killer but you often see Legions win, because the survivor team don't know how to counter his power. It's the same with Trickster.

Conversely, Trickster is good if played against the right survivors. The bad ones!

If your aim is amazing why not just play Deathslinger you will have the same result but faster. Huntress is better but i cant get use to the 2 sec before you can shoot

Trickster is old legion with range, and old legion didn't exactly require much "skill."
Hold M2 long enough on the right map, and eventually you get a down. You'll hit enough knives with time, so just keep at it.

Maybe because people like playing Trickster?

I would consider Trickster low C tier. He's not bad but he's not in the same league as highier tier killers. Again - with higher MMR, I found going against survivors with a brain knew how to exploit his weakness to the full extent even on favorable maps. I wouldn't consider him trash tho as those favorable maps can showcase his true potential.
Mouse/Keyboard are required tho. Eitherway he's fun, I think getting rid of his recoil altogether and centering his knives would be a good QoL fix.

this...This is a great way to describe the situation, it also depends on the player's ability to mind game. I am in purple ranks I always get at least 3ks with this dude. I have loads of fun with him i just play casual when with him

On PC even with a good trickster you will struggle against any good survivors. At best (no addons), he is probably high C-tier.
2 -
Every ranged killer is bad on console.
2 -
I see getting c tier is pretty common id put him there too. Agreed

No, not quite. Plague, Deathslinger, PH, Twins - all are playable on console. In fact, all four are current or past mains of mine. Out of the ranged killers, only Huntress and Trickster (and to an extent Nemesis) suffer on a controller because of the inability to aim properly and accurately, combined with the speed of camera turning making you turn 45° and throw your hatchet at a wall when you tap your camera stick as lightly as possible, even at low sensitivities.

I still think he is bad, considering the fact the devs consider him an easy to play character. You can still get kills with him though, it's just easier with... most other killers.

I don't think people called him bad because he wasn't good at killing, he kills people super fast and easy, its the fact he is another super oppressive 1v1 killer without any pressure in the 1v4, meaning he is boring and unfun in a chase, but easy to beat with a team that has minimal communication

Trickster is good period. He's literally gotten a buff every single patch that's come out. I don't understand why people think he sucks.

Have you played him with a controller?
3 -
Try using a controller. That's the pain every console player has to go through when playing him
3 -
Trickster could be good if i didn't have the aim of a stormtrooper
2 -
I have to agree the recoil makes using him on controller very hard.

Well I was getting my ass kicked when playing Trickster and facing red rank survivors or SWFs.
But maybe I am just not using Trickster correctly... But most likely he is also a bit weak.

In all my survivor games trickster is getting shat on. Easiest killer to run from

Why would you play him when you can play slinger or huntress tho. Both are superior because all you often need is to hit them once. There's nothing unique about trickster that makes him stand out bar he's a k pop killer that unlike most other killers doesn't have any interesting aesthetics or lore to give him even a cult following. It feels like I'm beating a dead horse here but ricochet was the most interesting concept they had with the trickster as a killer. If they went all in on that concept instead of knife mc spam we might have something worth talking about.

I perform fine on console
1 -
I feel like some people like hate him because he's the "K-pop killer"
1 -
He's a noob-stomper. Luckily most Survivors are not high-caliber, so it's not hard to win often with him.
But when you actually do find decent players, you 100% feel his weaknesses. He straight up can't use his power in a lot of areas and has nothing to slow the gen rush.
I still love playing him though. He's hella fun!

Please genuinely tell me how i would like to play him but i don't know if its worth the time trying to learn him on console

I have experience in the past with shooting games with console so that helps a bit also i would call myself a decent player so i'm pretty good and all you need is decent aim and know when to use the knives

I have yet to meet a good trickster. I honestly am quite glad when I hear his chase music off in the distance because I have yet to meet a good one, lol.. sorry!

Ive heard wayyyy to many people say he doesn't fit in well with everyone else

Trickster is infuriating to me. I want to play him, like what he brings, but even on my Series S his knives are like a Uzi drive by (100 bullets only 2-4 hit) . I play Slinger and Huntress very well but this dude is a different animal on console. Honestly ######### him and ######### whoever didn't make him only playable on console. Not saying I have never got a 4k but it's only been 2-3 times....Although if I played purple survivors I would 4k. I 4k with nurse during my training when it was purple survivors.

Trickster works a lot better when i see him as a terrotorial killer instead of a chase killer
Kinda like hag, choose your 3/4 gen and never leave far from that area
Agitation is a godsent for him. Being able to hook in the middle of your 3/4 gen and defend them at the same time make him pretty dangerous
1 -
you really do have to manage ur time with him, you are right he isn't really made to be a chase killer. You risk getting 'genrushed'
