Mods, Regarding Auric Cell Cosmetics . . .
For NON-licensed characters (Nea, for instance), will the cosmetics that are available for purchase only with auric cells ever be made available for purchase with iridescent shards?
So for instance, the Nea cosmetic "Graff-Crafter" is only available to purchase with auric cells, but the "Beach Break" cosmetic is available for purchase with auric cells or iridescent shards. So would the "Graff-Crafter" ever be made available for purchase with iridescent shards, too? Or do auric-cell only cosmetics stay auric-cell only forever?

No. Some cosmetics are purchasable with iri shards, some are purchasable only with cells. This is pretty normal for any game that has an ability to "earn" skins through gameplay, some will simply be purchase only to incentivize people to buy them, thus making the company money.

Is there any rhyme or reason that dictates which cosmetics can be bought with shards (in-game money) as opposed to cells (cash money)? Are the pricing decisions arbitrary or is there a pattern that explains why some can be bought with both and some can only be bought with cells?

They put the absolute “most sought after” (in their mind) behind the auric cell paywall. Like Oni’s Minotaur skin.
A trash recolor skin will usually be purchasable via shards.

Agreed. Though I still hope that, someday, auric-cell only cosmetics will be available for iridescent shard purchase. It doesn't seem likely, though.

I try not to be cynical about this kind of stuff but yeah, that's basically the impression I've had to maintain until someone from the company explains otherwise. It usually seems like "the more unique and / or complex, the more likely it's going to require real money".

I can't say for certain that they will never become buyable with IS's but it's unlikely from my understanding so if something is AC only, it's likely to stay AC only at least for the foreseeable future.

It's possible that they might be a certain time period where they're obtained with shards. They did this with the Fog Travelers set that dropped with the Clown Chapter, they had an event before the Spirit chapter dropped where you could obtain these with shards for a set time. Don't think they've done this again recently with other sets. Highly unlikely but never say never
