If a survivor wants to kill themselves on first hook, please just let them.

i made this post because im sick and tired of people sandbagging after they were rescued. if people are going to waste every resource while not in chase, bodyblock, purposefully miss every skillcheck, etc, i would much rather have nobody at all than someone. if people will play like that, they are of no use to me. they are nothing but a hindrance and i would prefer them out of the game than in it and making life even worse than they would.

Nah.

Nah I’m good, if I’m gonna be forced to lose a match against my will because of a selfish player that’s scared to play on a map (that’s most likely survivor sided anyway) or dumb enough to que if they’re not willing to play I will farm them for points and whatever happens happens. I’m not gonna get cucked out of points and stand by as they punish my team, I’m going to punish them by making them get hooked a second time or interrupting their failed skill checks. I don’t care if they follow me around or bring the killer to me, I’m a good looper regardless so I accept the challenge...catch me if you can
1 -
I'll hook farm them for altruism.
If I'm trying to suicide on first hook and someone does the same, I just afk under the hook if I got to second phase.

My guy, why is your ego so fragile that you'll throw a game just because someone wanted to test their luck? Not only that but most people do so safely, making sure a teammate is nearby to save them. Anyone who plays survivor knows that Survival points are nearly impossible to get without escaping, and managing to escape the hook gives you a significant amount of survival points, it's not that deep.
1 -
You can't.
If they're nice enough to alert the killer that an unhook is probably about to occur via their escape attempts, I'm usually nice enough to let them continue to try :)

If you don’t want to play in the match anymore and try to Jill yourself, you are no longer my teammate, you are my tool. I shall use my tools to try to survive. Meatshield activate.

Incredibly ######### meatshield when they drop every pallet on the map and prevent you getting much progress towards your objectives.
1 -
No, I’m not calling YOU entitled. I’m saying the ones that kill themselves on first hook are (and moreso if they start sabotaging their team).

Ok thank god

Points tho 🤔🤔🤔

It’s tough to differentiate when it’s typed out and not spoken.

I leave people that attempt on the hook even when they're doing that attempt as you're running up thing that got popular. Only exception is if we're last ones and they attempted because obviously thinking better chance than being saved.
I think they should change it to all attempt escapes unhook you, you're just broken for a time if you do it. Change Deliverance to a self unhook where you aren't broken. Rework luck/slippery meat to do something else. If someone wants to attempt escape in killers face they can do that. Usually if someone trying to hook suicide actually unhooks themselves they don't try to screw over the team out of spite, they just go find the killer if they really want out of the match.

I'll still be unhooking them.
They are still a meatshield & a possible distraction.
Don't really care if they are doing random ######### after being unhooked, detrimental to me or not.

But my stacks tho

Most survivors that play don't care about their team. It is quite odd given the selfish role is killer. But, well, just from reading the responses from people who play the role, I doubt I could say anything else that you haven't just learned, lol.

If you wanna leave the team to play with 3 survivors cause you don't wanna play I'll force you to stay. Not letting you sandbag us that easily.
0 -
but when they stay is when they sandbag and make it so much worse than a regular 3v1
1 -
So make a post that says, "When someone unhooks you while you're trying to get sacrificed, please run back to the killer instead of sandbagging the whole team." That's the person whose behavior you need to change -- not the people trying to play normally.

Dropping all pallets on the map? They'll do it.
Fail every skillcheck while following someone around even if they didn't save? They'll do it.
Spam loud noise notifications near you? They'll do it.
Lead the killer to you by "accident" in a chase? They'll do it.
now you see thats just ######### to do, if i really want out of the game ill just stand under the hook. killers usually oblige when you do that.

Honestly sometimes people go for first hook trying to Kobe because they feel like no one is going to try to save them half the time
1 -
I get annoyed when I see them try to suicide at the start of the match because we waited a few seconds to run over for the save, like NO you don't get to ######### that quick suffer like the rest of us!!
1 -
I'm already well aware attempting to speak to the entitled pricks won't do anything, hence this post.
1 -
Just saying, when people do this it is usually because the team is doing something really wrong.

This is one of those very few times that there ought to be a code of honour book for all players (not survivor/killer rulebooks). A code whereby players can deal with rare, yet annoying, events.
In this case, if a survivor doesn't want to participate, they should be exposed to a torturous cycle of killer knocking them down, then survivors reviving them, only to knock them down again. Yes, there are lots of holes in this, but it's still fun to think of.
If I'm killer and notice it, I just knock them into dying and leave them to rot. Should they want to waste everyone's time, then I'll waste their time. If they get bored, they can dc and take the penalty.
I've come across the situation you've described so rarely I can only remember one occassion. I was Wraith, and my invisibility allowed me to watch as one survivor repeatedly fail skill checks and make loud noises around 1 survivor in particular. I made myself known, and he tried to escape but failed. I picked him up, took him to the basement and dropped him on the floor, then signalled to that other survivor who followed me to leave. They did and started doing gens, whilst I babysat the survivor until they ultimately dc'd. They were a different platform so got no salt, but I reckon they were raging!

That's usually my gameplan as well when things go tits up within 3 seconds and I can't be asked to deal with solo anymore. Just stand near a hook and AFK; I can't solo carry a garbage team that drop Shack at 5 gens and all go down within a minute. To a Legion.
Unfortunately, some in this community are spiteful bastards.

yeah its unfortunate, sorry that happened to you mate.i mean i cant say ive never kms on the hook but jesus thats low af imo.

I always understand when they kill themselves or dc when it’s a spirit or deathslinger. They want to move on to a different killer that’s more fun to verse. All other killers have counterplay and you have no excuse to leave the match.

This is why disconnect penalty is pointless. People can just die on first hook if they want to leave match.
1 -
Usually, but sometimes not. I had a Meg do that to me as killer. She REALLY wanted to die and they were winning, I was literally just playing Wraith and scaring them off a gen that they were dedicated to as I needed 12 kicks. I was "losing" for sure as I had no intention of hooking anyone. But she was so persistent and body blocking me that I had to give in.

I agree. Let them leave. Let me leave. If the game has been more than seven minutes long and my three teammates haven't managed to do a single ######### gen in all that time, I want out. I am forced to stay in or get banned, and I can't kill myself on hook anymore. To be honest, I play the game less and less because of these things that only help killers and reward them for making the game worse for survivors.
1 -
That's exactly what happened last time a survivor tried it in one of my games. After lots of teabagging, pointing, nodding and we and the killer had sucked her dry of points the killer took pity on her and decided to just rehook her. But I wasn't quite done so i flashlight saved her (you're welcome nea) and let the cycle begin anew

Managing to spin the DC penalty as a survivor nerf is actually quite impressive.
0 -
So, in consequence, you urge people to DC more in DbD. In order to "exit". Okay.
0 -
Ding ding ding
This is the correct answer.
0 -
Sorry, but if they're killing themselves on first hook then I likely don't care already what they do next since losing the game already is gonna be much more likely.
It's my way of saying get bent, thanks for ruining my game, you get to stay longer. :)
1 -
Admit it, having the survivor who sabotages your game is still more beneficial for the team than not having him. He still attracts killer's attention and wastes time, no matter if he runs away or not.

I want my stack of wglf. and I'll take it.

Mmm yummy meatshield no regrets
